CURATOR’S CORNER Art competitions can be a very useful tool in building a good resume. They can also serve as a way to get your work in front of people that have influence and ways to help you with your art career. The thing you have to remember, it’s up to their dissension to let your work into a show or not. With each exhibit there are all sorts of things that go through their minds, it is nothing personal. Sometimes, it is a matter of them liking spaghetti and you liking fried fish.

WELCOME JENNIFER ADONA

20 • Blue Line Arts Magazine • bluelinearts.org

Jennifer Adona is very excited to be back in the art world as the new Membership and Development Coordinator at Blue Line Arts. In the past, she was a performing and visual art student and put that on hold to join the work force, in the financial services industry. Her employment in a large corporate bank, as well as a local credit union, gave her the opportunity to learn diverse sales techniques, excellent customer service skills and member retention, all with a smile on her face. In addition to always staying positive, Jennifer strives to be an active community member by volunteering and encouraging others to do so. Some of her causes are keeping art in local schools by volunteering as an art docent through the school district and promoting

eco-friendly movement by participating/ volunteering with local children’s clothes, gear and toy swaps which keep those items out of landfills. With her experiences and sunny attitude, Jennifer looks forward to her role with Blue Line Arts. Jennifer and her husband Richard, a financial adviser at Merrill Edge, moved from San Jose over a decade ago and never looked back. Jennifer is a mom-on-the-go who keeps busy with 4 children, juggling play dates, sports, stroller runs, and of course exposing them to the arts regularly. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys photography, DIY crafts, jogging, shopping and relaxing with the rare spa day. She can’t wait to meet all the members and become an integral part of the thriving art community.
