AyurVeda: The Science of Life

can almost give an accurate analysis of an individual merely by observing his or her countenance upon entrance into the office.

By Vaidya Dr. Rajiv Kumar The Sanskrit term “Ayurveda” translates into English as “Science of Life”.

It is an ancient spiritual and natural healing system that is many thousands of years old, which originated in the IndusKush Valley where the ancient land of “Bharata” or “Bharat” is located; it was later named “India” by Greeks. Ayurveda is the oldest medical system on the planet. “Rishis” (Sages) received Divine revelations as to the sacred treasures of Nature which heal all illnesses and diseases and do not merely cover symptoms.

An Ayurveda Doctor is known as a “Vaidya”, and he or she must receive many years of education both spiritually and naturopathy before being allowed to assist in the increase and enhancement of the life force of others.

For example, the three “Doshas” or “Constitutions” must be known which are “Pitta” (fire), “Vata” (air), and “Kapha” (earth and water). Each of these types of Doshas have particular character traits and lifestyles which can unbalance their physical, mental, and emotional energies. When they accurately are assessed as to their specific Dosha, then the imbalances can be eradicated, and healing is the result.

The Ayurveda Vaidya will initially have the new client fill-out a questionnaire which pertains to his or her general lifestyle and eating habits, during the consultation session. Next, the Vaidya will carefully listen to the client as he or she discusses various aspects of their life conditions and do a pulse reading (pulse diagnosis). An analysis is made as to the person’s specific Dosha and the recommendations made as to the healing regimen. Ayurveda wellness healing involves certain foods, herbs, oils, gemstones, exercises, and 6

The spirits, minds, and bodies of people can be compromised if correct measures are not taken to elevate the consciousness to the super-consciousness of the Divine vibrations which reside in every aspect of creation. Consequently, a spiritual orientation is most necessary.

lifestyle changes. The client will also receive particular massage treatments such as “Abhyangha” and pineal and pituitary gland re-settings involving a treatment called “Pancha”. People are amazed when they feel wonderful after perhaps many months or even years of discomfort, challenges, or fullblown illness. They are astounded that Ayurveda has been able to not only address the unwanted side effects but to also assist in healing the condition.

Thus, also inherent in Ayurveda is the “Sadhana” (Practice) of prayer and meditation. Connection to the Divine Absolute, i.e., the Infinite Presence, the Creator, etc., is paramount. A new client will be invited to learn what is perhaps a new level of understanding about the sacred essence that has gestated and birthed all of creation. The client will be invited to attend meditation classes and other kinds of seminars which elevate consciousness.

Also inherent in Ayurveda is the system known as “Gunas” or the “Natures” that people tend to have along with their specific Doshas, and these are: “Sattva” (peacefulness, purity of thoughts and deeds, pleasurable lifestyle, and Divine attunement), “Rajas” (controlling natures, selfishness, and erratic behavior), and “Tamas” (completely disharmonious personality, impulsiveness, delving into dark behaviors, and giving painful experiences to others). These, too, must be taken into account when assessing someone’s life incarnation on the material plane.

The Invisible Hit

Who is Astara

By Rev. Samantha Pennala Astara is a church of ALL religions, a School of Ancient Wisdom, and a channel for the Aquarian Age. Astara is a “Place of Light” for the person who seeks further spiritual knowledge and progression, a deeper understanding of the cosmic and immutable laws of a Supreme Being we call, God. It is a place for such souls who are seeking deeper teachings and techniques, the steady practice of which can lead to the perfectly paced unfolding of the petals of the deepest to reveal the Jewel in the Lotus.

When a person says something negative about you, it feels as if a brick is thrown into your gut. In that instant, your body’s automatic response is to crunch forward as if to protect itself from the invisible impact.

You can receive several intentional or unintentional invisible hits on a daily basis. There is usually a palpable awkwardness created by the remark leaving the recipient dumbfounded or angry. To smooth things over the violator will say, “Oh, I’m only joking.” As if this comment justifies the derogatory statement that was intended for you. Our society may accept the logic of, ‘If I didn’t mean it, it didn’t happen,’ but I do not. It is disrespectful, rude, and shows a lack of consciousness when you verbally treat people in this manner. The reply is a coward’s way of making a statement that is true from their perspective.

They would never seriously voice their opinion to your face fearing a conflict may ensue.

From a spiritual viewpoint, the invisible hits are not meant to weaken the spirit nor make us a victim. Instead, we can learn many valuable lessons from these spoken words if we are willing to do a bit of self-reflection. For some, it will be to protect their energy field from negative people. For others, it may be the nudge they need to begin defending themselves by speaking up. It can be an old topic between you and the transgressor who is harboring hidden issues, yet projects an air of acceptance. Sometimes, the insult may hold some spiritual truth to help us evolve or heal a matter that needs forgiveness.

In your heart, you know what the person is implying and the intention of the slight. Don’t act impulsively. Take the time to look within.

It is not always in your best interest to demand an immediate explanation which could place you in the position of being more vulnerable. Take a deep breath and process what has happened, then act accordingly from the heart and logic. We don’t know and won’t always know why people say the things they do. I have decided that peace means more to me than trying to make others accept me. I am who I am, and I will not apologize for it.

Intuition; Tales from the Road

On the way back from an errand last week, I kept getting the feeling to visit a shopping center on my way back home. I have two ways I usually take to get to this side of town. One of them, via the freeway, can sometimes have construction going on. On my way home, I wasn’t sure why I was strongly pulled to visit a salon. But, I followed my guidance, knowing it is always correct. Trouble is, intuition can come gently and softly sometimes. It can be tricky to read, even for a professional.

I used to travel a lot, singing in different states. I love to drive and prefer that to flying. I traveled a lot via car throughout the Midwest, Northeast and to New York quite a bit. I loved the quiet of being by myself. One New Year’s Eve, I was playing in Cleveland. The band had rehearsed a new classic tune “1999”

by Prince, earlier in the day to ring in the New Year. We all came down to eat before the show. The venue had a great spread of delicious food. I was obsessed with the cherry cobbler. So obsessed, that I ate a whole lot of it! Now I’ve eaten cobbler before, so what happened next is surreal.

Before show time, I was feeling a bit wobbly and sick all of a sudden, even though I felt great earlier that day. The place was packed and so were the bathrooms. Luckily there was one open.

I wasn’t going to be able to make it up to my room. I was on the floor with terrible flu symptoms. One of my band mate’s girlfriend saw me! She recognized my shoes when she peeked underneath to see why no one had come out of the stall for a while. She thought I was drunk. I couldn’t talk because I had passed out.

They called an ambulance for me.

She helped me out of the bathroom. I was totally surprised to see paramedics arrive! They asked me what my name JUNE 2017

was, my address, what day it was… all the questions they ask to see if you are “here” and conscious. I have chills recalling this. After they examined me and spent some time checking me out, a man was actually having a heart attack at the venue. I was still getting my bearings as he was raced out of the building on a stretcher! If the ambulance hadn’t been there for me, he wouldn’t have made it.

He survived. Thank goodness! I spent the night in my room resting and recovering.

The miracle of that night didn’t hit me until later.

I saw things in a different way after that experience. There is rhythm and synchronicity to life, and sometimes it is as clear and perfect as that New Year’s Eve. But so much of the time it’s not so clear. So, when I am pulled to a location from my gut and I have turned back around yet again, I follow it. After turning around twice and trying to figure it out, I gave up and headed home. Within two miles, I ended up in a huge freeway traffic jam. Then it hit me! They wanted me to turn around and take my other route home.

Emotional Messages

Consider this: Your body’s clear intent is survival.

The Silver Thread: NAVIGATING THE NARROWS

The Hebrew month of Nissan is dominated by the imagery of Passover. Passover’s overarching theme is the escape of the Jews, led by Moses, from the slavery of Egypt. The Hebrew name for Egypt is Mitzraim, meaning “narrow straits”, and the major symbolism of the holiday is escaping from confinement to the open spaces of freedom, in the dessert, and ultimately the promised land.

Judaism actually has 4 different New Years. Passover is considered the beginning of one of these four. It is designated the birth of the Spiritual Year. On the Hebrew Calendar, the month of Nissan, comes in the spring. It welcomes spring, where all life is reborn, and thus physically repeats the cycle of moving from the dead of winter to the opening of life..

The Biblical narrative of Passover is well known. It begins the Book of Exodus in the Torah.. The Hebrew people are slaves in Egypt. Their leader Moses approaches the Egyptian ruler Pharaoh, and asks him to free his people so they may resettle as free men in the land of Canaan ( Israel) which God has promised them. Pharaoh refuses so God sends 10 plagues upon the Egyptian people.

The last plague is when the angel of death takes the lives of all of Egypt’s first born sons. That same Angel paints lamb’s blood on the doorposts of the Hebrews’ homes’ , so that death “ passes over “the Hebrew children. Finally Pharaoh frees the Hebrews.

The psycho-spiritual purpose of Passover is to awaken us to our personal forms of enslavement and to propel us to freedom.

To understand our enslavement, simply think about the things we have which we fear being without. It is money?

A relationship? Is it our personal image? Our cellphone?

Psychologically enslavement is our “ego identification” with our objects, relationships or qualities.

Such enslavement creates the false illusion that we will not exist if we are denied those things and people to whom we are attached. The thought of such loss sends us into panic, then obsession. The headline grabbing stories of men killing their spouses, when that spouse leaves them is the most extreme manifestation of such broken attachments. Most manifestations are more mild, but all are painful, and most of us react with fear and an obsessive need to hold on.

According to Buddhist philosophy the cause of our daily pain is attachment. Attachment refers to our “ego investment” or identification , inflexible and unyielding to things. We consistently strive to achieve a goal which we imagine will bring

us happiness, and without such an achievement feel anxiety.

Our ego grasps objects and identifies our happiness with them.

Conversely we fear the loss of things which we count on and live in fear that something which defines us will be gone.

In the Jewish tradition this same ego-preoccupation blocks our relationship to God. Our purpose is to match our ratzom or will with that of Gods. That is we all have a purpose for being put on Earth. That purpose was given to us by God. Our life may be seen as a gradual unfolding or discovering of that divine purpose. Our neurotic attachments, which manifest themselves as obsessions, block that higher purpose. Conversely letting go of attachments is a prerequisite for coming into touch with this higher will. Our life purpose transcends any particular ego involvement, and our unwillingness to let go delays or blocks such transcendent occasion.

In the face of loss I often see my client’s narrowing. Recently I worked with several individuals who left their jobs, and were looking for new employment. Most got lost in narrowing. They wanted the exact jobs of their preconceptions; title, salary, duties, and status. Invariably they failed in those pursuits.

Their life narrowed into a single pursuit of an exacting position.

The inability to achieve that goal led to depression, anxiety, obsession and anger. It created clinical conditions.

Rather than narrow I urged expansion. I suggested that they pursue any lead that appeared, and open their hearts to the possibilities. Those who followed that path succeeded. They often found positions of which they had never conceived, but that excited them, and satisfied their creativity. Their lives expanded and their sense of fulfillment peaked.

Lie down in a way that is comfortable for you; if that is a position in which your spine is straight or only slightly curved, that’s best.

PEACE—Then think about a time, a place, that felt very peaceful to you. Allow yourself to remember the smells, the sights, the sounds, the sensations both in your senses and in your emotions.

PURITY— Now turn your focus to something you feel has a lot of purity, like fresh snow, a virgin forest, the untouched prairie grasses, a small animal or child. Allow yourself to reflect on the quality of purity.

ALIGNMENT WITH HIGHER WILL—There have been times in your life when you have taken actions that you know have a “rightness”, a sense of alignment with what is Good. Allow that memory of a respectful connection to a Higher Law, a better, more supportive and positive behavior, to be remembered.

Rather than a willfulness, it is an alignment, a purposeful obedience to a rightness and order that is divinely connected.

Notice your body’s relaxation deepen as you feel comforted by proper boundaries, proper alignment.

Now imagine a soft white light coming to the base of your spine. This soft, almost fluffy light gently spreads up your spine to your brain stem. New Chapter

The Sanctity of Marriage

By Faith Brower Who is writing the story of your life? Is it your job, your kids, your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, or your finances? Maybe it’s your health or your parents? I would like to suggest that YOU write the new chapter in the story of your life. I have had thoughts such as, “I have to stay in this job until my son graduates,” or “I am so bored with my life. What is there to look forward to?” Or, “Will I ever find a lifetime companion?” Often we think we are stuck, or our situation controls what we can be, do, or have, or where we can go.

Think of your life like a book, an unfolding story with new possibilities and adventures. Who is presenting a new adventure or possibility at each turn of the page? It seems like events, activities, and people come and go, building on the narrative of our stories. This brings me back to what I asked at the beginning of this article: Who is the author of the story of your life?

If we want adventure, a great lifelong partner, prosperity, or anything else, we need to be the authors of the story of our lives. We are not just characters in our story; we are the authors. Our work is to write our stories. We write new chapters by making choices in our lives. Our bosses don’t dictate our stories, nor do our partners or any situations in our lives. When we want to change the direction our lives are going, WE make choices that open the way for new adventures. When we want calm and peace in our lives, WE choose thoughts that will lead us to a stress-free life and take actions that result in a more peace-filled day. If we want to bring more prosperity into our lives, WE go within and are still to hear what ideas we need to act on, and then WE need to be grateful for the knowing that we are always provided for.

It is true that each day holds the potential for a new chapter in our lives.

With the choices we make, the thoughts we choose, the listening to the quiet voice inside, and the gratitude we practice, we write our own personal story. Whatever direction our life stories take, we need to KNOW that WE are the authors.

Statistically speaking, June is the most popular month of the year for couples to get married, and in the spirit of this I am going to provide a brief lesson about the sanctity of marriage and its sacred meaning.

By definition, marriage is a legally or formally recognized union of a man and a woman (or, in some jurisdictions, two people of the same sex) as partners in a relationship. To be a part of a marriage and to fully understand what that kind of formal commitment means, are two different things. As our society has evolved over many decades, so has our views on many social norms; one being marriage. Generations have taken part in this sacred event; this union between two people was characterized by absolute devotion to your spouse. When you say “I do” you are making a public declaration in front of your peers, friends and family, as well as God. This assertion is typically made at a wedding or place of ceremony to join two people together. Every part of this event has significant meaning. A few examples would be: 1. Flowers - Not only are they pleasant to look at and set a romantic tone to any event, but flower bouquets held by the bride as she walked down the aisle consisted of garlic and herbs to drive away negative spirits. Flowers we see today eventually replaced this, such as roses, lilies, etc., symbolizing fertility and everlasting love.

2. Bouquet - As it was made from strong herbs meant to keep evil spirits away, it also covered the smell of those who had not bathed.

3. Brides and their bridesmaids were dressed identically to confuse any evil spirits.

4. Hand fasting - During the wedding ceremony it was customary for couples to pledge their vows while their hands were joined together; his right to her right, his left to her left, so from above they looked like an infinity symbol.

5. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue - Old indicated the transition from a single person to a married lady; New showed the movement to adulthood. Borrowed - borrowing something from a happily married couple was to insure that your marriage would be a happy one. Blue - In ancient Israel that color bordered the wedding dress and symbolized purity, fidelity and smooth sailing.

6. Wedding cakes - were broken over the heads of the bride and groom, originally made of baked wheat or barley. This was to symbolize fertility for the couple.

7. Wedding dresses did not come into play until 1840, as what we now know as a wedding dress. Prior to that, the bride wore

her best dress on that day.

8. The exchanging of rings - Some believe that the oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. It’s a symbol of fidelity and eternal love, hence the circle of the band. The circle is an ongoing reminder of the promise that the other person has made to you. The ring is traditionally put on the fourth finger of the left hand. This is because the fourth finger contains what is known as the heartvein (vena amoris), the only vein that leads directly to the heart.

9. June - Became the most popular month of wedding based from the Roman goddess of marriage, Juno, who is the protector of women covering marriage, child bearing and health.

Marriage today is undergoing a metamorphosis. While it is undergoing changes such as shifts in traditional gender roles, we cannot forget why the act of getting married is a sacred act, meant to be cherished, respected and treated to the highest importance.

Is the Law of Attraction Working for You?

In celebration of National Power Smile Day on June 15, I want to explore how smiling can change our attitude, boost those positive emotions like joy and love, and increase thoughts of optimism. Smiling, even when we are faking it, has the ability to trick the mind and heart into thinking things are going really well and that life is good. So, even if you’re not feeling like smiling, do it anyway! If you’re open to changing your mood and your experiences with others, you’ll notice your mood shift to a more positive outlook. There’s even a chemical response in the brain called endorphins that are produced from smiling and laughing.

It’s not difficult to understand how smiling more improves the relationship with those around us. By sharing a beautiful smile, a symbol of peace and compassion, you’re telling those around you that they matter. Smiling sends the message that we are listening and are completely engaged with the person we are looking at. Most of you already know that by sending out these positive loving vibes we create, by attracting back to ourselves, a beautiful reality.

So, in celebration of our amazing selves, let’s embrace National Power Smile Day and spread some joy and love with a million smiles. When we meet, we’ll smile and have a complete knowing that our intent is to share our love of ourselves and each other.

According to the law of attraction, what you focus on and believe you will receive, will come into your life. There are various reasons the law of attraction may not be working for you. Like the law of gravity, it does not matter whether you believe in it or not. It is going to work. The question is whether it is working for you or against you.

One reason the law may not be working for you, is because you are focusing on the lack of something rather than on having or getting what you want. As an example, if you desire more money, but you are really thinking about the fact that you don’t have enough money, then the vibrations you are sending out are those of “lack.” If you’re focusing on the negative, your situation will not improve.

Another reason the law of attraction may not be working for you is because you are trying to make too drastic a change, too quickly. As an example, if you are feeling depressed and you focus on feeling utterly blissful, this would be too great a jump. You may need to move up in smaller steps.

Now listen, it goes without saying, that all of our feelings need to be felt and I don’t want anyone hiding behind smiles. Yes, this really does happen.

Some of the unhappiest people I’ve met like to hide behind smiles when around others. What I’m suggesting is that we genuinely embrace the joy of ourselves at our greatest, through our smiles.

Honestly go to a happy place within and wear this joy in a smile. Feel it with your whole being and notice how others respond. Notice how you feel more kind and compassionate towards your fellow neighbors, friends, and family. This is a

A third reason the law of attraction may not be working for you, is because your conscious mind and your subconscious mind are not in agreement. Although your conscious mind wants to make a change, your subconscious mind does not go along with it. If your subconscious mind is resisting, you will not be able to achieve your desired goal. Your resistance is preventing the law of attraction from working.

The good news is that there are things you can do to enable the law of attraction to work for you. In the book, , by Esther

and Jerry Hicks, the authors point out that you need to change your current thought to “a better feeling thought.” If you are thinking about how bad your situation is, you need to start thinking about what you really want, or how good it will feel when you have what you want. Another option would be to find something to appreciate about your present situation. The universe responds to the thoughts you are thinking. It doesn’t matter whether you actually have that beautiful new home or are just imagining you have that beautiful new home; it is the thoughts or vibrations you are sending out that are all important. And if you keep thinking these positive thoughts, then the universe will respond by bringing you what you truly want.

If you are thinking about your current situation in positive ways, the universe will give you more good things.

However, if you are thinking about how bad your situation is, the universe will bring you more negative things. The universe will respond in kind to the vibrations you are emitting. The problem is that too many people focus on their current situation, rather than on what they want to have happen to them.

Power animals activate our instinctual power, or what I term our animal selves.

All creatures are eternal spirits living within a physical, animal body. But as humans we also have an intense mental energy, which tends to want to be in charge of everything we do; interfering with both our instinctual and our higher spiritual energies. When not balanced and integrated with these other aspects of ourselves, our minds tend to run amok, pulling us off our center and leaving us high and dry in the wrong place at the wrong time! Power animals help us find the deep instinctual power and wisdom which can help us reunite all aspects of ourselves. In so doing we can get on track with our life’s true purposes, and find the inner resources to master the challenges that we face.

Each creature has unique gifts and qualities that are innate to it. As human beings, one of our gifts is the capacity to gain mastery over any of the gifts that other creatures carry; this is both challenging and magnificent, and probably why the world puts up with our shenanigans! Where we are lacking in mastery and power, a power animal can pave the way for us to realize the gifts that it carries within our own personal JUNE 2017

lives. I work with the Higher Power, who brings my client a spiritual gift in the form of the needed animal, to help them claim the qualities and strengths needed in their lives. In more traditional shamanic work, the shamanic healer goes on a spiritual journey to find the power animal needed for their client. Both approaches work beautifully.

To help you understand how this works I will name a few types of animals and how they can help people; however a simple meditation on an animal and study of their life will reveal much more about what their gifts are. Where a person lacks self-confidence, clear personal boundaries and has issues with selfworth, a male lion can be extremely helpful as a power animal. Where a person was neglected or abused as a child or just needed better parenting, a mother gorilla is a gentle, playful, loving and empowering mother energy. It helps the soul to feel nurtured, grounded and safe socially and personally. Where a person needs clear perspective and spiritual vision, an eagle can empower them to find the way through their challenges. Think about how many animals there are, each with their own unique qualities, and you will begin to glimpse how personal the power animal experience can be.

In both my own way of asking for the power animal, and the traditional shamanic way, the necessary animal medicine can be discovered and given to a person. The person receives the animal spirit, not from a specific animal, but from the unity of spirit which holds the essence of each aspect of creation. As the right power animal is received into a person’s soul, it immediately enlivens and empowers aspects of them which were damaged and unresponsive to life; and awakens their own necessary true potential, allowing it to grow within them.

this which made me realize how amazing this power animal gift can be.

Sometimes people receive spontaneous power animal gifts. They may come in a meditative vision or through a physical animal who presents in an unusually personal way. Not all such visions or animals are power animals, but they can be. Or sometimes they are simply messengers, awakening us to something we would have missed otherwise. Either way they are very special gifts indeed!

Although her focus is primarily on gut flora, she notes that “patients with GAP (Gut and Psychology) Syndrome usually have low stomach acid.” (pg. 253) Hippocrates said that all disease begins in the gut. Many such diseases evolve slowly - and misinterpreting symptoms often contributes to the process. A good example of this is when someone believes that the cause of their heartburn is too much stomach acid and takes steps to reduce it, when their symptoms are actually caused by low stomach acid; and according to many experts, most cases of heartburn begin because of insufficient stomach acid!

You can read a wonderful description of the cascade of events taking place in the digestive system in, Why Stomach Acid Is Good for You by Jonathan V. Wright, M.D. and Lane Lenard, Ph.D. In the meantime, here’s a basic summary. After food is chewed, it passes through a two-way valve allowing food and drink to go to the stomach and air to go to the lungs.

The food is greeted by an acid/enzyme bath to be digested. This is also the first line of defense in our immune system which keeps out foreign proteins, bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and other offending substances that may be trying to gain access through the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth - all of which drain into the stomach.

When foreign proteins cross the intestinal barrier, they act as allergens in the body causing various responses.

Some are just annoying while others are potentially fatal. Once the offending allergen is removed by the body through the function of histamines, the reaction usually dissipates. Histamines are chemical substances the body uses to release those annoying amounts of mucus which people usually think of as JUNE 2017

being the problem when in actuality it is the solution to remove the offender and resolve the problem.

The term GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is often used to describe symptoms of heartburn. In a common scenario, food doesn’t digest because the stomach is lacking the proper pH/ enzymes. The food begins rotting and pushes up into the esophagus which irritates the delicate tissue of the esophagus. This displaced stomach acid along with the undigested food causes the sensation of heartburn.

An interesting part of this scenario is that the valve at the bottom of the stomach will not open unless it has the proper pH which must be sufficiently acidic. Although heartburn feels like you have too much acid, increasing the pH to aid digestion is the best solution if it’s caught before damage has been done to the stomach.

If this produces a burning sensation, the sodium bicarbonate middle stomach acid protective lining may have already been damaged. When the lining is damaged, the body stops natural production of HCl (hydrochloric acid) to protect the stomach from further damage. This problem is usually the result of a pancreas that stops producing sodium bicarbonate.

The solution for this is to begin healing the pancreas with the help of special nutrition. The pancreas also produces the alkaline enzymes for the small intestines based on how much acid is in the stomach. One indication of a pancreas that is in trouble is burping or belching. If you have this symptom, I suggest getting it checked right away because your pancreas is one of your most valuable organs.

When the stomach lining has been broken down for so long that undigested food molecules are crossing over into the blood stream, the second line of immune defense (the white blood cells)

become activated. Usually it takes years of poor digestion and stomach lining damage for leaky gut or intestinal hyperpermeability to develop. Fortunately we’ve found nutritional supplements that are usually very successful in helping to repair the gut lining. They are usually taken for support in addition to following strict nutritional guidelines. In my holistic chiropractic office, we also work with the nervous system to guide the rest of the repair process.

Besides mechanical/structural problems, such as a hiatal hernia, the digestive system is affected by stress, diet, drugs, medication, smoking, alcoholism, a high refined-carbohydratesugar intake, antibiotics, steroids, radiation, environmental chemicals, and toxins. If you have impaired digestion, nutrients cannot be properly absorbed and utilized, eventually leading to other serious problems.

The medical world uses drugs to treat symptoms rather than addressing the cause. For example, many digestive symptoms are treated with proton pump inhibitor drugs that turn off the proton pump that produces stomach acid. The stomach isn’t the only system that utilizes proton pumps, yet proton pump inhibitor drugs will down regulate ALL of the pumps in the body. This is just one of the many reasons why I believe so strongly that natural treatments should be your treatment of choice. by Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills, the fair promises to be lively, festive and fun with free screenings, a fun run, bike meet-up, and cooking demonstrations along with a complement of vendors offering holistic and naturopathic solutions to your personal health needs and interests. You Don’t Need to Break a Leg to Change the World

Many people do not share this world view and relegate themselves to a life of sameness because inner transformation eludes them. Yet this is so important, because your outer world is mirrored by the state of your inner world.

If any of you have visited our healing center, Bodyworks Healing Center in Plymouth, Michigan, you are likely to know my wife, Pat. If you have been in recently, you are also likely to know she tore ligaments in her ankle and broke the tip of her fibula in a nasty fall. This had the effect, as you might guess, of making her immobile.

Her ankle and leg were swollen and colored with all sorts of greens, blues, purples, reds and yellows. She was to keep her leg elevated, iced and wrapped. As with any relationship, what affects one affects the other. This put an extra burden on me who was now the chief cook, dog walker, grocery shopper, chauffeur and a number of other things too.

What does one do with the time given them? Pat and I believe there are no coincidences; everything happens for a reason.

So what was the Universe trying to tell us? Given she could not work, Pat used this time for inner reflection and discernment.

And a good place to start is in the asking of questions.

Questions move energy and without the movement of energy there can be no change. Every day she would ask questions such as these: “What is it you want me to know?” “How can I make a difference?” “Where has my thinking been in error?”

“How can I bring more love into the world?”

Answers rarely come immediately or in the form we think they should. One must simply ask and be open to receive, no matter what the answer may be. This is the path of the spiritual seeker, ask penetrating questions and be honest with self.

Honesty is essential yet can be trying. Why? Because with honesty comes the acknowledgment we are the creator of our experiences. And this is a big stumbling block for many. After all, who wants to admit they created anger, grief, depression, pain, suffering, poverty. No one does, yet if we cannot accept this, we declare ourselves as victims, powerless to improve our world.

Once Pat asked the questions, she was ready to receive the answers. To accelerate this process she did the following: 1. Read, studied and digested inspirational material on subject matters she was drawn to 2. Reflected on the material in meditation 3. Used Ho’oponopono and other techniques to forgive illusory thinking 4. Cleared negative energy and limited thinking through breathwork and pranic healing These steps open the doors to even more insight and questions, deepening the inner healing process. Every day and more than once a day, she dove deeper and deeper into her subconscious mind while still remaining immobile and doing as the doctor prescribed. At her six week visit to the doctor, he observed Pat as being ahead of schedule for her age, surpassing even the healing rate of college athletes with similar injuries.

Pat’s inner healing as well as the use of various alternative therapies accelerated the healing process. This is not surprising since inner healing always affects the outward form. As stated earlier, there are no coincidences. Pat’s injury was created for a reason. When you get the message, the sender no longer needs to keep sending the message. The injury is no longer needed since the message has been read. It can now heal.

This is the way it works with all our problems. Getting to the root cause, clearing the erroneous thinking behind the problem, frees the energy so something new and better can come into its place instead.

Soon after the doctor’s appointment, I was talking with Pat and mentioned how I noticed a change in her. She was more peaceful, clearer, more insightful, playful and funny. There was a sweetness about her that was attractive to me. A week or two before I noticed I began calling her Sweetie for no apparent reason. And then it struck me. I began calling her Sweetie because she was sweeter, there was a sweetness and beauty of life that was emanating from her and I was simply responding to her new energy. I felt closer to her, more connected and intimate. Her personal work, her inner reflection, sent off a vibration that caused me to unconsciously deepen my relationship with her. I alone did nothing different, and yet I was changed. I was calmer, more peaceful and tapped into a renewed faith and optimism for the direction our lives were moving in. Thank you my beloved. You Are Better Than Your Circumstances

Elizabeth George Most people who are global achievers were once victims of greater circumstances than yours, but they had one model; never give up. You may know someone who has been in dire circumstances and became greater – better than the circumstance. Someone who may have been born in not so desirable circumstances, and they soared well beyond the circumstance and never looked back. You have seen someone with lost limbs, physically handicapped and despite their circumstances they don’t waste time on the “can’t”, but have a “can-do” mindset. Happiness has to do with your mindset, not with outside circumstances.

A gentleman at 56 years old who never learned to read decided that it was time to learn, so he did. He enrolled in college and changed his life. You may know someone in a negative relationship that is limiting his or her growth. This relationship may have all of the trappings money can buy, but they still were able to just walk away from the circumstances. Don’t fear what’s beyond the circumstance, the real fear is if you permit the circumstance to define you. Believe in something more.

You know the story of Nelson Mandela, spending decades in prison – solitary confinement. He knew he had a greater purpose. Within one year of release he became South Africa’s first Black president. He did not permit his circumstance to define him.

These individuals did not dilute the truth of their potential. We often convince ourselves that we cannot change, that we cannot overcome the circumstances of our lives. That is simply not true. You have been blessed with immeasurable power to make positive changes in your life. But you can’t just wish it, you can’t just hope it, you can’t just want it… you have to live it, be it, do it - “every day.”

There are millions of stories, many like your story. What are you going to do about YOUR circumstances?

Not only is the chanting of sacred mantras a beautiful and harmonious practice, but one that can bring an inspired shift in consciousness and bring you great personal joy. If you are already a mantra yoga practitioner, do come along to our class on June 24 where my husband, Gary, and I (who have both been regular mantra practitioners for over thirty years) will be conducting a class (see separate ad) during which attendees will be initiated into different mantras.

But what is mantra? It is a sacred sound sequence in Sanskrit that, from a yogic perspective, can help to align us with the higher frequencies of the Universe and prepare us, in many ways, for advanced spiritual states.

Mantras have been used throughout the ages and especially in the ancient mystery schools. In this Aquarian Age, when the waters of truth are poured freely to all, many formerly secret mantras – or words of power – are now available for all to be initiated into.

They are used by the group of Adepts, Masters and Ascended Masters of both sexes and all races, known as The Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth. This enlightened brotherhood helps hold the light for this Earth, and works hard on behalf of humanity in many diverse ways. We know this firsthand because our Master, Dr. King, was invited to visit a Retreat of the Spiritual Hierarchy in a projected state. This Retreat was beneath the holy mountain, Ben McDhui in N. Scotland, that I have visited several times, and he was invited to attend a Festival held regularly there by the Spiritual Hierarchy entitled, The Festival of Carrying the Light.

These rituals have not been previously shared with the public, but Dr. King was given permission to reveal his experiences

and published these in a little booklet: “Festival of Carrying the Light”.

This is a most mystic and beautiful ceremony that Dr. King was able to view from a distance. There were approximately 600 Ascended Masters present, dressed in white and each carrying a globe of light. While they all chanted sacred mantras, they also moved in beautiful and perfect formation.

They chanted the mantras so perfectly that all their voices sounded all the syllables at the same time, giving the impression of one large voice. Dr. King described it as “great ritualistic choreography.”

At the same time as this, the Masters, moving with perfect precision, changed positions, formed a triangle with the Spiritual head of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth - The Lord Babaji - at the tip.

This great Master then manipulated the energy created by the mantra out to the world. It was stated that, such was the high frequency of the mantra that it would go straight to the higher mental realms around Earth.

In the class that Gary and I shall be conducting, we will also be performing mantras together with gentle and graceful movement. By focusing on the mantra and also on your own movement, you will find this similar to a walking meditation. However, the mantra creates tremendous inner power that you can not only feel as an inspirational and dynamic quality – but is a power that can be sent out to the world in the form of healing for others. Creating can, at times, be stressful. if you’re like me, you can find that working non-stop can all be a bit too much, or you may feel your creative juices have run dry.

When you feel like this, it’s best not to push, instead, just step back and take a breather. It is ok to take a break and relax or engage in another activity you enjoy.

Love Rises

I wish everyone knew how loved they are.

We are so loved. I can see how life works tirelessly to show people that they are powerful beyond what they think. There ARE cosmic forces working on your behalf to wake you up to the infinite potential of your life.

If your mind just thought something like, “This crazy love chick needs to get a reality check” then I offer you this...I hear your reality is full of pain. I hear that your situation may be difficult. BUT if you stay open to insight while in the pain...a new insight will come.

With your insight, a new energy arises.

With a new energy, a new behavior arises.

With a new behavior, a new story begins to form for your life.

Life is always always for you.

I get that this is very hard to see when things are painful. Your current understanding can’t fix this.

Let go.

Be open to possibility even if you can’t see the solution.

Don’t believe the emotion...yet feel it fully.

Be open to a new perspective.

doing the daily meditation exercise, “I am willing to be loved” from my book, “Self Acceptance Process”. She said she was having huge releases of fear after each meditation. Why? Ego (smaller self) believes that fear and stress protect you. It does not trust love. It wants to keep you in a slow moving river of misery.

Love transforms.

As we open to love, dreams and new possibilities, the smaller self identities will be threatened. Fear will rise up as you stand willing to open to your True Self, love, and bigger dreams.

Don’t believe it.

Don’t believe your emotions.

Your True Self can prosper.

Your True Self is whole, beautiful and amazing.

Don’t believe your perceived limitations.

Don’t believe your stories.

Your True Self is more amazing than you think. Be willing to open.

Don’t try to fix your smaller self. This will keep you trapped.

belittling him. So this kid was reacting the only way he knew how: through fear and violence.

By Wendy Powers Nugent June happens to mark two very important days. Father’s Day of course, but we must also look at the second most important day of June… Forgiveness Day (celebrated on June 26th.) I have chosen to write about forgiveness as this has been such a very difficult year for all who live on this planet. I have seen friends and family judge and dismiss each other. Anger, violence, hatred, and intolerance has brought the normal balance of peace and forgiveness way out of kilter. Some of this has been due to group think; some of it out right fear of change.

Now I am not taking sides. I simply bring to the forefront that we are going through a spiritual awaking and with any change comes anxiety and fear.

Forgiving our partner’s in life, our children, family, friends, a situation, and even ourselves is a very important step in bringing the spirit into peaceful harmony.

Let me share a story of anger that lead to forgiving too late: I had been frustrated with my father throughout my childhood, I choose not to talk with him for many years. He still tried to reach out to me at times, but I was stubborn and could not forgive him.

One cold snowy day, I got a call from my brother. He said that I needed to come to the hospital immediately… dad was in a coma. Together with my brothers and sisters, we had to make a decision to let him go. I would give anything to have had a conversation with him so he could forgive me for my childish anger towards him. He did nothing wrong. My mom divorced him and I was angry with him for so many years because he was not in my life growing up. I was approaching my 34th birthday and finally coming to understand that my father was only a person going through so much more than I could ever understand. I only saw one side of a situation until just before he JUNE 2017

died. I had made up my mind to talk with him and made plans just before he fell into the coma. Now I talked with his spirit asking for forgiveness, but have always felt badly I did not share this with him before he died.

Since that difficult experience of not understanding a problem from the other person’s point of view, I learned a hard lesson. Refusing to forgive hurts us more than anyone else. I took that lesson and impressed upon my children that by learning the other person’s story and listening without judging, one can find peace.

This is the month of forgiveness so please forgive your friends and family for thinking differently than you. Put aside rumors and fears. Send them love and hopefully we will move through this painful time still loving each other.

Remember: forgiveness is not the same as acceptance. We can forgive our differences, but not necessarily accept them. We don’t need to. Give acceptance, forgiveness and PEACE a chance.

My son learned this lesson well. We had to move out of state and of course that meant starting in a new school.

Soon he encountered the high school bully. This big guy challenged my son to a fight after school. My son of course did not want to engage in a fight, but instead remembered my words, “look at this from the other person’s perspective. They may be reacting out of fear or insecurity.

Listen to them.” Well when my son came out of school that afternoon, he saw many of the kids standing around to witness the fight. My son had been learning how to box, so after the bully squared up to him, he said, “your stance could use improvement. Let me show you how.” The bully wasn’t expecting that. My son exchanged knowledge and understanding without any blows exchanged. They did not fight that day, but instead my son learned this young man’s story. Forgiveness - Do it for You

I think a lot about forgiveness. I have come across some situations where I have found it so hard to forgive others at times. Yet, we are told to forgive those who trespass as we hope to be forgiven for our trespasses against others. Why? Why would the sages, and our Creator tell us to forgive?

Everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of someone they have trusted, or sometimes - if other’s opinions matter more - even by strangers.

I know that someone who called me “sister” betrayed my family, to where she was not concerned that my son might die, “None of my business.” This from a woman whose children I’d been there for, a person for whom I was there for many times. I could not believe the depth of betrayal from someone whom I’d given my love and self. I was angry. How dare she? I and my family retreated to the safety of our home and other friends. My family seemed to think that betrayal was, is, a part of life and my husband buried it deep. My son worked it out over time in his own way. I found myself questioning why I found it hard to forgive, why was there resistance?

There are many reasons to forgive. Holding onto resentment and revenge only hurts us, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Research has implied that anger is related to several health issues, such as cancer. Forgiveness can open the energy to increase your immune system, lower blood pressure, reduce stress, anxiety and depression, increase more loving relationships, and allow you to be in the present moment so that you can enjoy living in the now. Therefore, you have more energy to put towards the things of value to you, including more inner peace, and open to connection with the Divine.

I ended up working through my anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge by seeing this person as a divine child of our Creator who just blew a gasket and made some mistakes trying to find her own happiness. It took me about six months to really work it through. I did my best to put myself in her shoes, to make some assumptions as to why she did what she did and try to see life from her point of view. I chose to feel love for her the way I would for any sister; that we’d just had a disagreement and that it did not mean I had to cut her out of my life. That does not mean she’s ever apologized, nor does she act completely comfortable around me. Yet, I find inner peace I looked at what my definition of “forgiveness” is. To me, it and love with how I choose to experience and be with her. Will is choosing to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge I forget what happened? No way. I may never really trust her at someone’s seeming betrayal of me. That does not mean I absolve them of the responsibility, nor do I just trust them again... again, yet I can love her for who she is and enjoy being in her presence again and trust that our Creator has my back. I feel they have to build up that trust again. It also doesn’t mean I at peace and love being with her again. minimize what they did, nor rationalize or justify their actions. It just means that I have the power to let go of the energy going Forgiveness is really for you. If you don’t practice towards resentment and thoughts of revenge towards them. forgiveness, you might be the one who pays most dearly.

It means I work it through for me, so their actions no longer have power over me and I take back the energy, power and control of my own life. Working this through for me involved looking at my refusal to let go of perceived power. I felt powerful and vindicated as a victim while thinking this person needs me and is in need of forgiveness and only I had the right and ability to give it. I also had the thought that forgiving her meant I was letting her off the hook and indicating I, and my family, had done something to deserve this betrayal. I had to work with my ego self to find my way back to peace and love.

Forgiveness is a process, it takes time. It’s not a date we can put in our calendar as “time to forgive deadline.” It might take some time to work through our emotional problems before we can truly forgive. Even when we know we are going to forgive someone, it probably is not going to happen right after the event.

We have to work it through. If you find it difficult to forgive, you could write in a journal, pray or use guided meditation. You could also choose to talk with someone you’ve found to be trustworthy, wise and compassionate, such as a spiritual leader,

Unique Responses to Stressors and Trauma

response, over and over again with seemingly crippling effects that stand in the way of their living a happy and productive life, free to pursue their passions..

The term “stress” was originally coined in the mid-1930s by HungarianCanadian researcher Hans Selye of McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

The stress response is activated when an environmental stimulus is greater than the individual’s ability to cope. It was historically believed that stress activated the fight or flight response in every individual. However, creator of Somatic Experiencing (SE®), Peter Levine, discovered if the stressor is sufficiently strong, fight or flight is overridden by freezing.

Fight or flight responses activate the sympathetic nervous system, whereas freezing activates the body’s most primitive response in the reptilian brain. The less extreme responses are quieted more easily with simple interventions including meditation, deep breathing, and simpler relaxation exercises.

However the freeze response is much more difficult to quiet and often continues to be present throughout the lifetime of an individual unless some serious healing occurs, using Constellations or other forms of trauma work. Constellations remain superior if the stressor are transgenerational in nature.

Individuals who’ve experienced extreme traumas, or are carrying a huge transgenerational trauma, are challenging and at times difficult to work with. Healing work must be consistent and deliberate, and constellations are powerful healing tools. In addition, trauma survivors, even if the trauma is transgenerational in nature, are also very easily re-triggered and the environmental stressors are significantly less than the original trauma. The experiences of these individuals resemble those of soldiers returning from wars, troubled by PTSD, leaving them caught in a seemingly infinite loop of stress/

In addition to this infinite loop of stress/response, each individual has his or her own very unique way or responding to heavy traumas or simple stressors.

Things in the environment that go unnoticed by most are overwhelming stressful to trauma survivors, and who respond uniquely but in almost exactly the same way each time he or she is triggered by the environment. Some are always respond with anger that is often way out of proportion to the stimulus, which the individual feels incapable of controlling or stopping.

Others feel acutely anxious and have an enormously long laundry list of possible transgressions or expectations of others that cause the individual to freeze and feeling overwhelmed and stuck in anxiety. Many of these individuals become so anxious and are triggered into anxiety so readily that they are forced to seek medical intervention simply to be able to hold a job. Still others are riddled with fear. Many of these individuals were exposed at an very early age to a situation that scared them badly. However, it is very possible to carry the transgenerational fear, and those with extreme anxiety can also carry the anxiety of an ancestor.

However, even some who stay and fight are often in a state of perpetual rage, over which they appear to have little or no control. Although fight is a less primitive response in general, those who experience perpetual rage can be activating the primitive survival in the reptilian brain, and it can be transgenerational rage as well, which can also be baffling to heal without using constellations..

Stone of the Month: Heart Chakra

This month we will be discussing the heart chakra.

The Sanskrit name for the heart chakra is Anahata, which means sound that is made without two things striking or unstruck, which reminds me of our heart beat. The heart chakra is located in front of the physical heart, it is the heart center of our chakra system The heart chakra deals with love and relationships, toward ourself and others. The colors of the heart chakra are various shades of green. The heart chakra is stimulated and awakened by all the different colors of green coming up everywhere for spring, green is healing. The tone for our heart chakra is “aahhh” which also makes the heart feel good.

Bashar says we are born from love, love is the most natural thing we can do; in my healing experience I have learned that self love is what we need and crave most. That feeling of longing and sadness deep in all of us comes from our heart wanting us to love and nurture ourselves.

When we love and care for ourselves deeply, we see the true divine creator within ourselves, that we are all connected, we are all one and we see the divine creator within all beings. A lot of people talk about coming from a heart space instead of the mind, and there are a lot of reasons why this is beneficial. Most of the time we are coming from a mind space, the mind is the thinker, it wants to think everything out. But often we can over-think, which in turn can cause stress or confusion. The heart is the lover, all it wants is to love unconditionally. When we are coming from our heart space we are more in the now of the moment, we stop stressing and over-thinking and it calms our hearts and minds. When we are coming from a heart space we create peace within ourselves and peace in our environment. The heart math institute does a lot of studies with our heart; they have discovered that our heart receives 10,000 more electrical impulses than our brains, another good reason to listen to and follow our hearts.

When we get stressed or fearful, we tend to go back to our mind space. To bring yourself back into your heart space perform deep breathing. Archetypes you can work with for the heart chakra are Christ, Quan Yin, Amma Chi, Mother Theresa and Mother Mary. Foods that benefit the heart chakra are sprouts and leafy greens that blossom like the opening of our hearts to the abundance of universal love. Essential oils that can open, heal and strengthen the heart chakra are rose and any scent that invokes love and gratitude deep in your heart. The organs the heart chakra governs over are the physical heart, lungs, arms and hands.

Only one stone is needed to open, heal and balance the heart and heart chakra, opening us to deeper love for ourselves and others. Green aventurine, dissolves lower vibrational thoughts and emotions, healing, harmonizing and comforting the heart.

Bloodstone grounds our heart energy, while clearing out irritability, aggressiveness and impatience, enhancing our inner strengths and courage. Chrysoprase helps us remember we are part of the divine whole; it also helps us maintain a peaceful nonegotistical inner calm in all situations. Happiness and Higher Connection

Hello my friends, Happy June. I hope you are enjoying the exercises from the past few months.

This month we will piece some of the work we have done to this point together. I hope you have worked on these over the past few months; it is very powerful to do these exercises.

Remember, just by reading these articles you will feel true shifts in your consciousness, as I said before, the more you read and share with others, the more you will receive. The same goes for following the exercises. The more you do them the more powerful they and you become.

Starting at the very beginning, we can focus on gratitude and release. So, go to the store and get two folders with lined paper; make sure that in one of them, the paper can easily be torn out. Now, take the folder that the pages can easily be torn from and label it, release.

Take the other and label it, gratitude and growth.

Let’s start with the gratitude folder; make sure you have it when you wake up, and write down some things you are grateful and thankful for. Make sure to do this before you go to sleep as well. Some days this will be easy to do and others it may be challenging, but make sure you do it no matter how tough it may be.

Now, take the release folder and after work or in the middle of the day, grab this folder and write out all your complaints, all of your negative thoughts, feelings, and anything that is upsetting you. Big or small, right now or in the past, do not edit, just let it all flow onto the paper. With this folder, at the end of the week, we will do a release exercise. Make sure to tear out the pages at the end of each week. This will take a little time and effort but is still simple. Get a pot, a bowl, or your fireplace, and burn these pages with focused intention: “Make Peace, Release.”

Make sure you follow this every day for this month and remember I am here for you. I can already feel the negativity burning away.

Next, let’s work on shifting into our highest joy reality. Our focus will be Fun and Joy. First thing I want you to do is focus on comedy; watch old funny movies, the more hilarious the better. Every chance you get, focus on joy and what things bring you joy.

What songs bring you joy, what places bring you joy, what scents bring you joy, what colors bring you joy, what foods bring you joy,what activities bring you joy.

Focus on each of these things every day.

For instance, you love the smell of lavender JUNE 2017

so get the essential oil and smell it at least once a day while listening to a song that brings you joy and looking at your joyful color.

The more of these things you intertwine the better.

Then, take ten minutes to meditate and focus on joy.

Breathe that joy throughout your body and soul, deep clearing breaths with your only focus, JOY. Let’s add the focus of beauty.

It’s time to find beauty everywhere.

First, watch the sunrise and sunset as much as possible.

Go to the lake, go to calm, peaceful, beautiful places, make sure to take photos.

Print some of the photos you find most beautiful and place them by a mirror.

Sit in front of the mirror at least 2 times a day for 10 minutes and take 3 deep breaths.

While looking at the photos say out loud, “The world is beautiful.”

Looking into the mirror say out loud, “Life is beautiful, I am beautiful.”

Then reverse by looking at the photos and say, “Life is beautiful. I am beautiful.”

Looking into the mirror say, “The world is beautiful.”

Repeat this 3 times and while looking directly into your eyes in the mirror say, “I am beautiful, I am the world.”

Now meditate for at least 5 minutes.

What comes to mind when you hear the word “healer”?

Most people think of those in medical careers such as doctors, nurses, practitioners and the like.

However, what many don’t realize is that we each have a healer within us. Using our thoughts, words and actions, we ALL have the power to provide healing to those around us. Although everyone is capable, you must make a conscious decision to reach out to others in order to make it happen.

We pass by people, all of the time, that are struggling with physical, mental and emotional problems, without even realizing it. Our actions, words and thoughts can powerfully affect those around us. We have a choice as to whether or not we want to play a part in the healing process of others. By being that positive, loving influence, you’re exercising the healer within and taking a front seat to a learning opportunity for yourself as well.

I believe that when our souls were blessed with the opportunity to have this human experience, we were placed here, along with everyone else, so that we could support each other along the way. We don’t live in a vacuum for a reason. Everything we do and say, not only affects our life path, but the lives of those we interact with as well.

If life were only about getting from A to B, we could have been dropped into a maze and instructed to find our way out. We’re here together for a purpose.

When we reach out to others as healers, the blessings go both ways. Each time we brighten someone’s day, help them through a difficult time, or provide words of comfort and support, we indirectly learn life lessons, without having to experience them for ourselves. It’s like when somebody asks you, “Have you ever had that happen to you?”, and you reply, “No, but I helped someone through something similar, and I understand what you need to do.” In those situations, your offer to help another, provides you with important lessons as well.

You know the saying, “You can’t judge a book by its cover”? I find that statement to be so true when you think about all of the

You never know when your words or actions may mean the difference between someone feeling loved and respected or feeling abandoned and scared. It’s our ability to come through adversity that builds our strength, resilience and wisdom. When you accept that we all struggle from time to time, it’s easy to see that there’s a definite need for healers.
