EduKite Competition

7 Junior Kavaliers kook 8 Entries for the EduKite Competition are now open for primary schools and schools for learners with special educational needs. Participants have until 1 November to work on their kite projects, which they will then be invited to fly at the 20th Cape Town International Kite Festival in Muizenberg, proudly hosted by Cape Mental Health. This is an opportunity for learners to be part of Africa’s biggest kite festival, to meet kite experts from around the world and have fun with children with a range of abilities. Every school that enters is given a free kitemaking kit that contains blank kites to decorate with the learners’ interpretation of the Festival’s theme ‘Beyond the Blue’. Prizes of R3 000 (first place); R2 000 (second place) and R1 000 (third place) will be awarded to the top schools in the two categories (primary and special education schools). Schools have until 12 September to register and there is no cost to participate. For details contact Hazel Cox on hazel@cmh.org.za, call 021 447 904 or visit www.capementalhealth.co.za.
