Skool maak tuin vir aanvul van voedingskema TAMSYN JANTJIES Badisa Strand het verlede Maart ’n groentetuin in samewerking met Dr. G.J. Joubert Primêre Skool begin. Die tuin is op die perseel van die skool en word grootliks deur Howard Thomas asook leerders by die skool onderhou. Die gr.7’s help graag om die onkruid in die tuin uit te trek. The body of a woman was found in a field near Broadway centre on 27 December last year. The cause of her death is still unknown to the police. They suspect that she was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped in the field at a later stage. Still no identification has been made on who the woman is or where she is from. She is speculated to be between the age of 25 to 34. An inquest docket has been opened and enquiries have been done regarding missing persons. Samantha Beckett (Strand) says she struggles to budget, as she doesn’t currently have any income stream. “It’s difficult to budget seeing that I’m unemployed at the moment. I get a social grant so I definitely have to budget. Sometimes though I can’t really decide what and what not to buy for the month.
The Lwandle Police are appealing to Lwandle liquor license holders to adhere to the conditions in their liquor license conditions. Police have been monitoring all the licensed taverns in the area and found that some tavern owners are not complying with the law and do not close at the stipulated times. No children under the age of 18 should be allowed on their premises and no alcohol should be sold to be taken off the premises. Police warns that those who do not comply with the liquor license conditions will be prosecuted and fined. Once fines accumulate, a profile file for non-compliance will be kept which will lead to closure of the premises. The matter will also be reported to the Liquor Board for further decision. Police are asking the community to report illegal liquor sales.

Dankie vir die treffende boodskappe, die voorlesing van Bybeltekste en die voortreflike sangstuk deur die oudkollegas. Dit het ’n blywende indruk op my gemoed gelaat. ) Kry die beurtkrag skedule en maak seker wanneer jou krag moontlik kan afgaan om sodoende voorbereid te wees en nie onkant betrap te word nie. Die beurtkrag skedule is beskikbaar by www.bolandgazette.com. ) Sit ’n kers (met vuurhoutjies) of ’n flits in elke vertrek. ) Maak altyd seker dat daar genoeg kerse en blakers in die huis is. Daar is niks so gevaarlik soos ’n kers wat met sy eie was aan ’n piering vas gesmelt is nie! ) Skaf ’n gasstofie aan vir die aande wat jy nie die elektriese stoof kan gebruik nie.

Delicious family treat Creamy tomato, bacon, chicken, mushroom and caramelised onion pasta. ) Ingredients: • 2 chicken breasts • 1 pack streaky bacon (diced) • 1/4 pack button mushrooms • 1 whole onion (finely sliced) • 10 baby tomatoes (halved) • soya sauce • 1 cup cream • Parmesan cheese • Tagliatelle pasta • 1 clove • garlic ) Method: 1. Halve the chicken breasts and slice 1cm thick. 2. In a frying pan, add the bacon, chicken and enough soya sauce to coat ingredients. Cook until bacon is crisp and chicken is cooked. 3. In a small frying pan, fry the mushrooms in butter until soft. Season to taste. In another frying pan, start cooking the onions in some butter at a medium heat while continuously stirring. Pay close attention to the onions to avoid burning. Cook until golden brown and soft. 4. In a large frying pan, add the tomatoes and a clove of finely chopped garlic and cook in oil until soft. When the tomatoes are soft, start mashing them with a wooden spoon until they are mushy, you will then add just enough water to cover the base of the pan, leave to simmer it reduces to a nice tomato based sauce (you might need to add some more water if it gets too dry). Season to taste. 5. Add all of the cooked ingredients to the

Helderberg bied rykste sewes-klubtoernooi aan Helderberg-rugbyklub bied op Vrydag 27 Februarie en Saterdag 28 Februarie hul tweede Xtreme sewestoernooi aan. Die toernooi is die rykste sewes-klubtoernooi in Suid Afrika met prysgeld van R100 000 op die spel. Daar gaan 48 spanne (junior en senior) deelneem. Netball club to start practising Helderberg Netball Club invites all girls and women from the age of 10 and older to join the club this season. Fancy footwork Helderberg Cosmos FC is hosting a preseason tournament at the Lwandle Sports Grounds on Friday 6 February. Sixteen teams will play in the tournament and will be able to compete on a firstcome, first-serve basis. Registration for the tournament is R500 per team. Shaquille Burger was rewarded for his outstanding efforts during the 2014 rugby season by being awarded trophies for the Most Points Scored in the season and the Player’s Player of the Year during the Macassar Youth Rugby Club’s recent prizegiving function held in the Macassar Community Hall.
