A pink start for wine festival The first Pick n Pay Women’s Walk in 2013 took place in Stellenbosch as an official event of the Stellenbosch Wine Festival which runs from 25 January until 3 February. More than 2 000 participants winded their way along the route on Stellenbosch mountain for a morning of camaraderie in a 5 km walk in support of breast cancer. Women, children and men dressed as women all came out in their support for the Pink Drive. PHOTO: CARMEN TAYLOR
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival was launched with a parade of marching bands that took to the streets, followed by tractors, buggies and trailers carrying farm workers from each wine farm. The Harvest Parade started at Paul Roos Gymnasium and slowly winded its way through town. PHOTOS: ELBÉ VAN HEERDEN
