WELCOME Welcome and thank you for choosing to study at Bond University. We look forward to sharing your stand out journey from today, through to your graduation. Orientation is a great opportunity to meet other students and get to know your way around campus. It also offers lots of activities and workshops to help you find your feet and reach your full potential at university. We hope over the next few days you’ll become familiar with Bond, the campus and surrounds. I encourage you to participate in as many events as possible, and take advantage of the range of services available. We are here to support and assist you with any questions or information you may need – please just ask.

TEXTBOOKS, STATIONERY AND PRINTING Head over to the Bond University Bookshop in the back of the Main Library to purchase your textbooks and stationery. Merchandise can be purchased from the Merchandise Store in the Alumni Centre, Building 1, Level 1. Find your textbook list on iLearn or come into the Bookshop and ask for assistance with finding the right books for your first semester. Email sales@bondunibookshop.com.au for more information. In the back of the Main Library you will also find the Bond Print Shop, where you can log orders through the self-serve printing page in the Student Portal (portal.bond.edu.au/printing). 4


ORIENTATION CHECKLIST Get connected to Bond’s IT Network If you are unable to enrol, visit Admissions in Building 9 to confirm your admission status. Remember to bring your documentation with you. Admissions, Building 9, Level 1. Enrol in your subjects and register for classes This is where you get to choose what you’re going to study in your first semester and design your class timetable. We’ll have staff at several locations on campus to walk you through this step. Full-degree Students Tuesday and Wednesday: Building 1, Level 1, Room 72 and Room 74 (BLD01_1_72 and BLD01_1_74) Thursday and Friday: Student Business Centre, Building 9, Level 1

If you haven’t already, activate your Student IT account after completing the above steps by visiting newstudent.bond.edu.au. After accepting the terms and conditions and creating a new password, you’ll be all set to access your email and campus WiFi. Activate your printing account at the John & Alison Kearney Main Library or Law Library using your Student ID Card at the printer. Get Connected with IT Sessions are held on Thursday in the Main Library’s Octagon Room - Building 1, Level 2, Room 60 (BLD01_2_60). For session times, please see page 13. Be welcomed to campus An exciting introduction to Bond University, featuring the Yugambeh Aboriginal Dancers, a scavenger hunt and lunch provided. This event is compulsory for all new students, so clear your appointments at 10am on Wednesday to attend.

Smile and strike a pose for your Student ID Card Once you have enrolled, upload a photo to CaptureME studentid.bond.edu.au for your Student ID Card. Once your receive confirmation that your photo has been approved, collect your Student ID card from Don’s Tavern Games Room in Building 10, Level 1 Monday - Friday: 9am - 4pm Wednesday: closed between 10am - 12.30pm Activate your Student ID and get your parking permit from Security, Building 10, Level 1.

Attend your Orientation Welcome Session Learn about your Faculty and meet other students in your cohort. These sessions are also compulsory, but you’ll walk out knowing everything you need for Week 1 and a successful first semester. Get social Topgolf, Movie World, Dive-In Movie Night and a Nature Walk are just some of the things we have in store for all our new Bondies. Some events have a limited number of tickets available. MAKING FRIENDS Starting university is an exciting but sometimes daunting experience. We recommend the following tips to set you off on the right foot: • Attend as many social events during Orientation as possible (marked under the daily ‘Fun Stuff’ lists) • Connect with students who share your interests by attending Club Sign-On Day (Wednesday, 22 January from 12pm - 2pm) • Try out some group fitness sessions at the Bond University Sports Centre • Join the Transformer Program and get involved in a project with students from other study disciplines • Follow the Bond University Student Association (BUSA) on Facebook and Instagram for information about student-run events on and off campus CLUB SIGN-ON DAY Club Sign-On Day is your chance to sign up and get involved in a variety of student clubs and societies.
