2004 CLUBB – JOHNSON WINNER Adam GEE

Adam had a year only most Referees would dream about and it happened at just 19 years of age. At the beginning of 2004, Adam decided to give away playing for his beloved East Hills club and take up Refereeing seriously, hence making him available for Sunday appointments.

Adam was also lucky enough to be added to the Junior Development squad at the beginning of the season and from there he just shone and showed what a youngster could do. His high level of fitness and aerobic strength was one that couldn’t be matched and therefore he progressed from starting in Under 16’s to becoming a regular in C Grade.

Not having a Level 2 certificate avoided him from an A Grade birth and when he did finally receive that converted Level 2 certificate he finally got his chance at the top grade. Adam didn’t let his opportunity slip as he quickly impressed many appointment board members and senior Referees.

Adam’s first Grand Final as a centre man came as a 19 year old Refereeing the main game on Gala day. A feat that would not be matched for a long time , perhaps never. Congratulations Adam on fine achievement.
