Does God know the future?

Brendan Mc Crossan

Romans-8-27- And He who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will. 28We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labour] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

Brendan Mc

God says I know the plans that I have for you, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and notfor evil. Look atthatscripturevery carefully;God himself is saying,“Heknows” –yes “he knows,” his thoughts and plans, God knows the thoughts he is thinking and has thought. He has put a lot of effort into thinking about you and me; he worked out every scenario in your life and in mine, the times of good and the times when you would be attacked by Satan, those times of evil, and he worked out a plan to turn those evil things that Satan would do to us into good.

As you can see from this scripture; God through the Holy Spirit turns everything that Satan has done on you to good later on; you see the Holy Spirit is the one who is the power of the Holy Trinity, he is one with God and Jesus he knows the mind of God and he is the power behind everything God is, just like the battery is the power behind the flashlight working, the flashlight is like God, the light is like Jesus, and the battery holds the power, the Holy Spirit, and all work together working their plan out for you and me, a plan thought out from before time even began. Look at this little verse from Romans 8-27- do you see who has made themselves a partner with you, and who helps you in all that you labour in, your not struggling alone no matter what it may look like you have God as a partner with you helping you, [God being a partner in their labour] and he is doing all this in you so that at the end of your life you will have hope in your final outcome, that you will have victory right up until the very end of your life on this earth before you step into eternity. Jeremiah 29-11- to give you hope in your final outcome. The final outcome is total victory through Jesus Christ in you the hope of Looksalvation.atverse

Jeremiah-29-11-For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

29; 29-For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and “loved” beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them]. Those whom he

Does God know the future?

29-For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be moulded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.[amplified bible]

9

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

4

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!

11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—

5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.

14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous—how well I know it.

If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

7 I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!

3

If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave you are there.

16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.

2

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Psalm 139-1- O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.

8

10 even there your hand will guide me and your strength will support me.

foreknew of whom he was aware of and loved, beforehand, he also destined from the beginning to be in the very place and time you who read this are in right now, God knew you would read this little book, he knew what you would think of it, he knows what your going to say about it or not, he knows your every thought; you didn’t think what your thinking all by yourself, God had it in your heart and mind from before he even made a world. If ever you wondered does God know the future then Psalm 139 answers that question?

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.

12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Look at every scripture verse that I have coloured and underlined carefully, and you will see for yourself that God knows every thought, every word, every thing that you are thinking, going to say and everything you are going to do before you even think or do them or say a word. Every day was recorded in your book, God wrote a book about you, and the book he wrote is alive and active breathing, it is a living book, and you are acting out all that God wrote, you are a living story being told and unfolded every split second of every day until the story ends in eternity. Look at the words coloured in green, “know” And know everything about me.

YouYou-know-everything-I-do.knowwhatIamgoingto say

God knows everything about you, not some things but everything.

Fortune tellers and physics cannot tell the future if they could then why don’t they predict the lottery or horse racing or some other way of making money, they are liars when they say they know the future and if some of then seem to be able to tell people things about themselves or a dead relative it is a demon who tells them this things, a demon that tormented your relatives whilst they were alive and so know all about them, but the devil does not know all the future except for his own and his demonic forces they know they are going to the lake of fire, they know that with certainty. Satan and evil spirits know a little of the future but they do not know all that God has in mind because God keeps confounding them by his tactics and changing every evil thing they do to you to good, so even though they know something of the future and predict what is going to happen the future changes at God’s directive, for every scenario, God has a dozen different scenarios to that one scenario. Read what I wrote later on in this book about the evil spirits fortune telling.

Psalm-139-16- You saw me before I was born.

Look at this scripture, you saw me before I was even born, when was that? It was when you were in God’s thoughts before he made the earth and everything in it. Every day was recorded in your book, was that every day or some days or just special days or today?

18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

17 How precious are your thoughts about me O God? They cannot be numbered!

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts

Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Jeremiah-29-11-For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

So God said, “Ok, but do not harm him,”

Job knew that God had a plan, even if that plan was to been seen as a punishment for Job by everyone including his closest friends. In the end God gave back to Job a hundred times over.

I wonder if we would bless God still if evil things happened to us, would we still trust God that God would know what he is doing. When things go bad do we trust God in those bad times? Would we believe that God knows the plans he has for us, plans for good and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope when bad things happen, would we believe that no matter what, we can still trust God, believing he knows best for us and that he knows what he is doing. Do we believe that God knows the future when something evil happens to us or one of our Wouldfamilies?we

Every moment was laid out, before a single day had passed! Every moment of your and my life was laid out, that was and is and is to come- every moment in ten years time or twenty years time or to what ever day I have laid out to live. This is incredible that every moment in my life God thought about and prepared things for me to be and to do. No wonder he said that I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope, in your final outcome.

Job 8:7 Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.

We let our children learn things not to do by punishing them, a little slap or a scolding, or let them do something we know will frighten them or even hurt them a little so that they won’t do

God is telling us in his word that he knows the thoughts and plans and we think something happened by accident and that is further from the truth than we ever knew. God knows every moment in my life, he knew that I would turn to him with all my heart, he knew when Satan would try and destroy my family, and he knew his plan to defeat Satan in my and my families lives; God knows the future and has written it in stone, what happens is working for our good no matter what it looks like. God has allowed Satan to attack us and to do things on us, but what Satan didn’t know was that God had planned for that attack to happen, he used Satan to bring about a change in us the will reveal His Son’s nature in us and make it grow ever more increasingly stronger. God uses Satan to make us better people and Satan doesn’t realise this because when Satan approached God one day in heaven;

God said, “Have you seen my man Job, there is a man who loves me,”

And the devil, Satan said “give him to me and I’ll show you how much he loves you, you’ll see he doesn’t really love you,”

And the devil destroyed all that Job had, his family and prosperity, but still Job loved God and said, “God gives and God takes away blessed be God.”

still praise and worship the God who allowed bad things to happen to us, even if they are going to work out for our good later on, it is in suffering that we need to know that God knows what he is doing; that he does indeed know the future, especially our future.

Do we not know of a future heaven and earth and what it actually looks like and who will live in this future world, and that it is us; so yes indeed God knows everything because that is the way he planned things to be. Of course having given us free will he lets us choose what road we will walk down, and at times he tests us out to see if we really believe him and are willing to do what he asks, just like Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son on the altar; it pleased God that Abraham chose to do what pleased God and of course God did not let him kill his son.

that thing again, isn’t this true, we all learnt not to do certain things by our parents slapping us or scolding us or letting us do something that hurt a little so that we would not do those same things again. God does the same, yet we call him terrible names and curse him, and say he doesn’t care about me; where have we heard that before? God knows our future and teaches us lessons in life to help us grow strong in him.

Chapter two

Ephesians -1-4- long ago even before he made the world God decided to make us holy and spotless and clean in his eyes, all because he wanted to.

He foreseen that Lucifer would try and corrupt his children because he gave them all free will, and he thought of a plan to defeat Lucifer, and that plan was to offer his own son up for the sins of the whole world since the beginning of their creation, thereby sealing mans future. It was at this point that he gave Jesus all his own authority over the heavens and the earth leaving nothing out. Then God decided where to put man and he created a world with galaxies and planets, sun and moon and stars around it.

Revelation 21-then I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. 2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

God also knows every single sin that you will ever commit, or committed and will commit, yet he still loves us deeply and has forgiven our future present and past sins and made us holy and pleasing to him anyway through Jesus and he decided to make us holy in his eyes from before he even made the world, he chose to overlook our sins in favour of his love.

In the beginning before he made the world God decided to make a new creation, a people that would be the same as himself, and even as he talked about his plan with the Holy Spirit and Jesus and possibly Lucifer and maybe some of the higher arch angels, he knew Lucifer was getting jealous, he knew Lucifer’s heart and knew every thought in his mind, remember he created Lucifer to.

God knew you would sin, he knows that your great, great, great grandchildren will sin even to a thousand generations, he knows everything about everybody.

Let me ask you the question here again, “does God know the future?” Has not God prophesised from the very beginning future events including the saviour of the world suffering on a cross and dying for our sins and in dying set us free from Satan’s dominion, these prophesies were all prophesised from thousands of years ago and they happened; so yes God knows the future, and knows our very own future.

Ephesians-1-4-Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. 5For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent] 6[So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favour and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

God chose us, that’s you and me, to be his very own, he picked us out for himself to love us, before the foundation of the world, note; before the foundation of the world, that means before he even made the world, he knew us through and through and still picked us for himself, that’s a great honour as far as I am concerned to be picked out by God for himself to shower down love upon.

Ephesians -1-9- Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, 10[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. 11In Him we also were made [God's] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will,

Revelation 21-10 Then in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God, clothed in God's glory [in all its splendour and radiance]. The lustre of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal. 12It had a massive and high wall with twelve [large] gates, and at the gates [there were stationed] twelve angels, and [on the gates] the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written: 13On the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates. 14And the wall of the city had twelve foundation [stones], and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

John saw the new heavens and the new earth and there was no sea’s, God was making room for his people a place for them to dwell in his glorious presence day and night.

This has not happened yet as well we know or the end of times would be here, but it is already in existence because the angel took John to a high mountain and showed him the New Jerusalem descending down on to the earth, everything God says is already in existence in the spirit world not in this physical world, and that is where your spirit dwells with and in Jesus standing in the place of highest privilege.

31What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] The future tells us that God is for us in everything we are going to do especially if it is for his glory that we do what we do.

Chapter three

Isaiah -1-1- 1BUT [in the midst of judgment there is the promise and the certainty of the Lord's deliverance and] there shall be no gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time [the Lord] brought into contempt the land of Zebulon and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time He will make it glorious, by the way of the Sea [of Galilee, the land] beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

Romans 8-30-And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). And those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].

God is making known to us now today in these times and days the secretes he had planned, he is sharing the future revelations with us so that we also can know some part of the future, he is revealing his plan, and we are included in that awesome plan, and as verse 10 says he planned it all for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages, that simply put is maturity is when we would understand spiritual things and the climax means the finish of things, and he tells us again that we were chosen and foreordained and appointed beforehand, in accordance with his purpose, his plan and will that means, and he works everything out in agreement with the counsel and design of his will. God is the greatest architect the world has ever known because he has designed everything with every possible scenario to perfection; he perfected his will in us, the glory of his name and he knew from eons past that he would do all this and would see his completed work laid out just like an architect lays out the blueprints of his building before him, he sees in his minds eye the completed building or structure he designed, and more so does God he is the architects architect, he is the ultimate designer, he is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end, in him lies everything completed, finished and satisfied with his work, and he seen it all before he even laid out the plans for the foundations of the earth and the stars and sun and moon and galaxies and quantum space. So yes God knows the future, and no, the devil and fortune tellers do not know the full extent of the future; I will speak about this later.

2The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.

Some extracts from the Old Testament to show the future events that God said would happen, happened. God speaks of future events as having already taken place.

Proverbs-23-18-There is surely a future hope for you and your hope will not be cut off.

This scripture talked about Jesus as we all know, he is the great light and we know that this scripture was fulfilled and that Jesus is alive today and is alive and living in us for eternity.

Ezekiel-12-25-But I the LORD will speak what I will and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfil whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD.' " 26 The word of the LORD came to me: 27 "Son of man, the house of Israel is saying, 'The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.' 28 "Therefore say to them, 'this is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "

Ezekiel 38-7 ‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. 8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

"Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: 'this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take notice of it? 15 You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. 16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, O Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes. {This is talking about the end times when Gog “Russia” will attack Israel along with others possibly Syria and Turkey.}

14

" 'this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Are you not the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel? At that time they prophesied for years that I

The lord says his word will be fulfilled without delay, he spoke of future events many years from now and those words came true. He spoke of the distant future and it happened many years later, just as he said it would.

17

10 " 'this is what the Sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, "I will invade a land of un-walled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the centre of the land." 13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages [d] will say to you, "Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?" '

14 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: 'this is what the Sovereign LORD says:

And he continues on to say what he had to say, so yes God does know the future, he made it all he is the beginning and the end of everything and he is everything in between, there is nothing that he does not know,, he knows everything about us from the very thoughts in our heads to every action we do and will do.

Psalm-139-1- O LORD, you have examined my heartand know everything about me.

5 You go before me and follow me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.

He knows everything your going to say before you even say it.

would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign LORD. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign LORD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulphur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'

This is spoken by God and is going to happen when Russia, {Gog} and Syria and other Islamic countries come together against Israel. God has spoken saying what he is going to do and if you look, he even tells them what they will even say on that day. On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, "I will invade a land of un-walled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the centre of the land." You can see for yourself he said you will say, “I will invade a land etc. These are the very words that someone in the future will say, and then do it. Then God answers and says to his prophet at that time in the future to say this,

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Ecclesiastes-8-7-Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? I guess that man cannot predict the future if God says he is unable to tell his own future or ours.

Satan asked to test Job and God allowed him to do this, but Satan didn’t know that after he had done everything terrible to Job, that God would give him twice as much as he had before, or common sense tells us that he would never have asked to test Jobs love for God.

God told Job that his beginning will seem to be a humble beginning but in reality his future will be prosperous, and Job ended his years on earth a multi millionaire. Satan could not predict that, or he would not have asked God to test Job remember.

If the devil knew all the future would he have had Jesus crucified, thereby bringing about his own defeat and the defeat of every demon in hell, then have us whom he hates so much, being placed in authority and power over him and all of his evil forces? Would he have mocked God and asked could he test Job? I don’t think so he wouldn’t have wanted Job to be blessed with twice as much as he had before.

Job 42-10- And the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Ecclesiastes-7-14-When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider,God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.

Job-1-8- 7And the Lord said to Satan, from where did you come? Then Satan answered the Lord, from going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. 8And the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who [reverently] fears God and abstains from and shuns evil [because it is wrong]? 9Then Satan answered the Lord, Does Job [reverently] fear God for nothing? 10Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

Chapter four Can fortune tellers predict the future; can they tell us anything that is going to really happen? Does the devil and evil spirits know the future?

I think that God is reassuring us that only he knows our future and that no fortune teller knows no matter what they pretend they know. An evil spirit can sometimes help a fortune teller telling them little bits of the future, but they don’t know the fullness of God’s plans only God knows that.

11But put forth your hand now and touch all that he has and he will curse you to your face. 12And the Lord said to Satan (the adversary and the accuser), Behold, all that he has is in your power, and only upon the man himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

At that moment the spirit left her.

Amen

Acts-16-16-Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the highest God, who are telling you the way to be saved."

18She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!"

Isn’t it awesome that God holds us in the palm of his hand he made us in his own image and he is forming us closer and closer into the image of Jesus in us, a slow and steady work which is being perfected daily in the flesh, the spirit is already perfect? Hebrews-10-14- you are forever perfect in the sight of God.

If you have gone to a fortune teller and they predicted your close future accurately then be assured that an evil spirit was controlling them and that evil spirit spoke through them to you, you were consulting an evil spirit, who used the person. This is why God forbids contacting a fortune teller because the truth is your consulting the devil and evil spirits. Read my book “Fortune telling is evil don’t do it,” for a full detailed scripture references. Does God know the future is the title of this book and the answer you all know by now is yes he knows everyone’s future and he knows mine? Does the devil know the future, yes some of it but not all of it for obvious reasons I have already written.

God knows your future and everyone’s future and has made plans to bless you in it, so worry not about things, God is your partner in your labour, so everything will turn out for your good if you are trusting God and are praising him for looking after you.

And that word of God never changes anymore than God’s plans for us will ever change, his plans are changeless in their final outcome, they may differentiate in their daily planning as you have free will to do as you will, but your ultimate goal is the end plan which is perfected in Christ Jesus carrying the glory of the Almighty God inside of you. Why worry about tomorrow said God, worry won’t add a single thing to you except to take away from you causing you stress and anxiety. God knows your tomorrow and many a time you worried about tomorrow and when tomorrow became today you somehow or other got through it.

You can see from this scripture that evil spirits can predict some future events, but they are limited in this knowledge, remember they were there when God was planning the earth and mankind and setting out his plans.

The devil and evil spirits know a little of the future but not all of it or as I said if Satan had known what he knows now he would never have had Jesus put to death, he did not know that by having Jesus put to death he was signing his own defeat. Some spirits can predict the future, but not all the future as I have stated before.
