Yauza watershed on city scale
Revitalization starts with creating extra space for the river. The rain water from all watersheds will be collected and slowed down in water squares ( its location is confind to the lowest topographic points)
Create water storages on the tributaries. It will be a cleaning space, which will be strongly related to functions of the surrounding areas.
Flood area’s in tributaries

The Semenovskaya street over 100 years: 1910 & 2010 AS CONSEQUENCE of this “ second water ring”project The degradation of the river system has led to the quays of the river being flooded. Flood zones are clearly linked to the confluence of tributaries and the location of the former river bed. OPPORTUNITIES: Unfinished construction on the river and its unfinished incorporation into the second water ring of Moscow gives a chance to restore the natural fluctuation of the river and possibility to bring it closer to its natural state.
Closed areas and closed clusters of Yauza PROBLEMS: The inhabitants of surrounding areas do not access the river Some areas are only used during certain hours. The river is the back site of the city
THE RIVER IS Not accessible for pedestrians Water level lies deep beneath street level Heavy traffic as a barrier OPPORTUNITIES: Create an inner world Connect the river with the outside world

OPPORTUNITIES: Create attractive public waterscape, to connect the river to the inhabitants Open the sluice to restore the river’s dynamics
Divide the river to 3 zones. A river is a complex organism. A 9,5 km stretch of the river can be seen as 3 different zones
