BOWLS WA REPORTS - COUNTRY It is with great pleasure that I give my annual report for the 2020-21 season. Except for the one week lockdown in February, we were still able to complete all pennant competitions and complete both Men’s and Women’s country weeks.

INTER ZONE ROUND ROBINS The Mens IZRR was to be played at Busselton on the first weekend in February, but was cancelled because of the lockdown. This will now be played next year at Busselton with the rotation moved forward by one year. I would like to thank those players from 2020 All Stars side who made themselves available to play against the State Squad.

This year’s annual awards night was held at the Royal Perth Golf Club. Clive Adams was to compare the night , however covid restrictions prevented Clive from returning from Melbourne. Ken Pride took over Clive’s place and did a fantastic job at short notice. It was again a very successful night with congratulations to those from Country Clubs who received Awards. Warren Holt and Aaron Smith tied for the Vice Patron’s Men’s Country Bowler of the Year. Chris Ace-Watson won the Penny Needham Women’s Country Bowler of the Year.

Bowls WA Small Country Club of the Year went to Tammin Bowling Club. COUNTRY WEEK

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Clive Adams and Steve Unsworth for the work they are doing to help regional clubs. They are employed by Bowls Australia to draw up strategic plans and to give guidance on running clubs.
