SUMMER ACTIVITY GUIDE 2022 15

Performing Arts ACTING, THEATER, & MODELING

This year’s opportunities to enroll in a performing arts camp for the summer of 2022 are not to be missed out on. Give your kids a chance to work with professional and passionate individuals whose experience and expertise will be shared with your children. These camps are great for kids who are excited and eager to express their creativity and artistic sides. Tate Academy, Rocky Mountain Entertainment Agency Acting and Modeling Summer Camps, Camp Equinox, and the Young Actors Workshop, and Yellowstone Theological Institute have Bozeman and South West Montana covered for Performing Arts camp opportunities this summer.

THE TATE ACADEMY will

once again be offering popular workshops at the beautiful Ellen Theatre in Downtown Bozeman. They provide students with solid, technique-based theatre training taught by professional instructors. The focus is to encourage students to explore the wonderful world of the performing arts, and each student will receive individual feedback and coaching to build on his or her skills. Information about workshops is currently posted on the TATE Academy website. To learn more or to register, please visit www.tateacademy.com

ROCKY MOUNTAIN ENTERTAINMENT AGENCY

(RMEA) is a talent agency based in Western Montana. They represent, train, educate, and manage models, actors, and musical talent, serving local and out of the area talent. RMEA supports clients “from local jobs to international contracts, educational and personal development, portfolio build-up, one on one training and more. RMEA provides professional services while working closely with many top agencies, directors and managers.” Their “integrity and dedication consistently opens doors for increased experience and reallife working opportunities.” RMEA is hosting three camp sessions this summer. Session one is a modeling focused camp from June 24th-27th. This camp will teach participants all about the modeling industry, photo movement exercises, and runway training. This camp includes photoshoots and personalized training. Participants will create a customized plan for pursuing modeling goals. Session two is a camp for aspiring actors. Dates for this camp are to be determined. This camp is in July and will focus on building acting reels with a professional director. Actor’s Camp focuses on having featured filmed roles to add to your acting and modeling portfolio. Session three is a Mini Model Camp from August 18th-21st. Since 1996, CAMP EQUINOX

has been serving the community of Bozeman to create an exciting place for kids to learn all about theater and explore their creativity. Camp Equinox states on their website that their goal is to give “students the opportunity to meet challenges, explore their creativity, build self-confidence, and see their success in final performances, all in the environment of a supportive community.” Camp Equinox is offering 2 sessions this summer. The first session is from June 13th to July 7th, and the second is from July 18th to August 11th. Grades 1st through 2nd have a half-day program from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. Grades 3rd through 8th have an 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. program. The camper’s daily routine consists of a morning meeting. This is a chance for kiddos to regroup, enjoy skits by other campers or teen interns, sing together, and learn the days schedule. Campers are then split into groups by age for morning workshops. After a brown-bag lunch, the kids have “directed free-time”, a chance to work on a creative project or join the group game or sport. Following directed free-time comes organized rehearsal, directed by the staff or a special performance and workshop with a guest artist. New this year, participants are now eligible to sign up for both sessions. The Shane Lalani Center in Livingston Montana offers a variety of educational programs and classes. Their Summer YOUNG ACTORS WORKSHOP is one of

the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts’ “most popular programs.” Beginning in August, this workshop is an “intense” two-week theatre skills course for kids in grades K-12. The workshop “divides a full day between rehearsals and classes taught by theatre professionals and college students. The YAW provides students with the opportunity to learn a wide variety of theatre skills while building a full-scale musical production. At the culmination of each workshop, students have a chance to show off all their hard work during three public performances on the Dulcie Theatre stage.” The Shane Lalani Center for the Arts is “dedicated to fostering creativity and building community through various arts programming, classes and events. The mission of the Shane Center is to strengthen community through participation in the arts.” In addition, they are committed to inclusiveness, and offering affordable access to their programs and facilities. YELLOWSTONE THEOLOGICAL

believe in the connection of faith, adventure and arts, and our youth camps allow us to create a positive, uplifting environment where participants can develop their skills and talents—all while experiencing a sense of togetherness as a community.” Their TheatreMakers summer camp is here to do just that. With collaboration from the Bozeman Actors Theatre, this camp is perfect for kids looking for the opportunity to work as an actor, director, writer, stage manager, and craftsperson. Participants will work as a team to create a one-of-a-kind play. This camp is held on YTI’s campus. Camp runs from August 16th to the 20th. Kids entering 4th-12th grade may participate.
