SPORT & RECREATION CAMPS
SportsRecreation AND
CAMPS
With activities and opportunities ranging from tag and four-square, to bowling and martial arts, your child is guaranteed to learn something new with Cunningham Martial Arts or Bozeman Sports Camp. Both teach valuable life lessons that transcend sports. These organizations will teach your children to be competitive, but also how to be compassionate. Respect and comradery are very important to any competition and your children will be able to get their energy out while interacting with other kids and learning the whole way through.
Participating in team sports provides a sense of togetherness that is hard to get elsewhere at a young age. Working together with a common goal can teach your kids so much about teamwork, compassion, and work ethic. These characteristics are ones that last a lifetime, just like the memories they’ll have with them too.
The hot pavement, cool grass, the arid infi eld of a little league diamond, paired with oranges, watermelon slices and popsicles are the memories that will stick with campers well after the day of sport is over. The in between time spent chatting with friends, laughing with counselors and learning valuable lessons from coaches is important as well.
Sports camps provide a great sense of structure and through counselors and organizers who can be a great source of guidance too. For a child to build a connection with a coach or counselor can be a remarkable relationship in a child’s life. It is important for children to have mentors outside of the home they can look up to, and feel they are being seen and heard.
Incorporating sports into your child’s routine has many benefi ts beyond exercise and a daily dose of blowing off steam. Participating in sports increases motor skills, introduces friendships, and builds confi dence. An article by Better Health suggests that physically active children “are more likely to develop into physically active adults.” Other benefi ts include improved coordination and balance, improved social skills, and improved personal skills such as cooperation and leadership.
CUNNINGHAM’S MARTIAL ARTS
values teaching kids strong life skills while creating excitement around physical fi tness and having fun! Their mission is to build confi dence, focusing on discipline, respect, self-control, perseverance, and goal setting. Cunningham’s Martial Arts mission is “built upon improving the lives of families in our community through giving back, teaching strong life lessons, and preparing people so they never become a victim.” Instructors provide class structure while utilizing positive reinforcement to help support your child’s mental and physical development. There are three programs offered which depend on the age range of your child. The Dragons program is for ages six to eight.
This class gives kids a headstart on focus, courtesy, and respect, while also focusing on coordination. The Juniors are for kids aged eight to thirteen.
