A Letter from the Executive Director
Hello, Bolingbrook friends! Happy 2023!
I hope you've enjoyed the holiday season. A little snow right before the holidays made things interesting for everyone.
Winter is in full swing and Bolingbrook Park District is here to help warm your spirits. You will see some new services, new programs and of course, the highlight of winter: Winterfest on Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Other winter events include an animal tracks hike and animal valentine creations sponsored by our wonderful community partner, Meijer. We've also renewed our partnership agreement with AdventHealth Bolingbrook, which will bring some new health and wellness learning opportunities from their wonderful hospital personnel.
Our capital improvement (referendum implementation) plan will continue in 2023, our 5th and final year! You will see new playgrounds at Balstrode and Erickson Parks along with some additional much needed upgrades to Pelican Harbor, such as new shade structures.
As 2023 gets rolling, we will continue to evolve and meet your programming needs in the safest way possible. Whatever your interests are, our team is prepared to provide you with world-class service and the wonderful experience you have come to know and enjoy.
We appreciate you and your support more than you will ever know. Bolingbrook Park District is the place to be in 2023! Keep in mind as you shiver through winter, that it is always warm and welcoming at Bolingbrook Park District.
Sincerely,
Ron Oestreich, Executive DirectorBOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Education & Camps
Two unique Sites... One Common Goal... Create a Learner for Life
The Bolingbrook Park District preschool programs, offered for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years of age, focus on educating children in a way that makes learning fun. Experienced teachers create a warm, positive educational environment that fosters a child’s natural creativity and curiosity. Children are engaged in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that are aligned with state preschool learning standards. We communicate with kindergarten program administrators in the area to ensure that our curriculum prepares our students for success in elementary school.
Preschool Programs
SOON 2B3 PROGRAM
Children 2 ½–3 years old have their first positive experiences in a preschool classroom and become comfortable separating from parents for a regular period of time. Development of social skills, large and small motor skills, and basic curriculum concepts are a part of your child’s day. Diapers and pullups are acceptable to begin with, but children should be on his or her way to taking care of their own toileting needs. This class runs 2 days per week.
3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM
This program nurtures a 3 year old’s social and emotional growth and provides a curriculum focusing on letters, numbers, shapes and colors and the beginning stages of writing. This class runs 2 or 3 days per week.

Youth & Teen Dance Classes
Keep in mind: While the dance department offers classes by session, students should take a class for at least one year or more, until the requirements of the next level have been mastered. Participating in a class for just a session or two may not be a sufficient length of time to adequately prepare the student for the next level of training. While ages have been provided in the brochure’s description of classes they do not supersede the recommendation of the teacher. Please stay in a level until the teacher recommends advancement. *Do not hesitate to request feedback or evaluation from your teacher.
