A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Fellow Residents of the Bolingbrook Park District,
Hope that you had a strong finish to 2024 and are moving forward with your plans for 2025. I invite you to fully explore this brochure to find ways to connect this year with family, friends and neighbors. Whether it is individual skill development, entertainment, family fun or adventure, there is something here for you. There are 50 parks, indoor aquatic center, fitness center, over 20 miles of trails, golf course and restaurant, and two community centers where you can enjoy yourself while focusing on your social, emotional and physical well-being.
We have a number of exciting things coming in 2025 as we will open the new spray pad at Central Park and Jerry Hix Park in Sawgrass, replace Gateway Wetlands and Knights of Columbus playgrounds and complete a variety of updates to facilities and equipment at our community centers, parks and pathways. In addition, we will be conducting a community-wide survey to measure resident awareness, participation, satisfaction and interests. This is in keeping with the Bolingbrook Park District’s history of asking for input every four years to help guide our decision making. We will be working with Bolingbrook-based Customer Lifecyle, LLC to conduct focus groups with a variety of heavy and light users as well as non-users of the park district in late January and February. Feedback received will be incorporated into the written survey, which will be distributed throughout the community to a large number of randomlysampled residents in May. If you receive one of the surveys, please take time to complete. The information you share is extremely important to us. Survey results will be posted online during the month of August.
Join us in 2025 to keep Bolingbrook Park District a vibrant place for everyone! We look forward to a wonderful spring season filled with fun, connection, and growth.
Yours in Recreation,
Mike Selep Executive Director

Two unique Sites... One Common Goal... Create a Learner for Life
Bolingbrook Park District preschool programs, offered for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years of age, believes in "Learning through Play." Play is the most important aspect of a child's life. It is their work; where they learn to interact, share and cooperate. Through play, a child is not only building a strong foundation for intellectual development but is also learning how to deal with emotions, decision making and problem solving. Carefully supervised free play is vital and is designed to be safe and appropriate for the age group. Preschool curriculum concepts for the school year include the following areas; pre-writing/writing, interest, math/science, early literacy, gross motor, music and art creation. The teacher's role is vital throughout the day as a co-discoverer (not merely dispenser) of knowledge and facilitator (not merely manager) of play. Preschoolers in these programs are preparing for success in future learning.
Preschool Programs

BPD DANCE ACADEMY OPPORTUNITIES
Early Childhood Dance Classes (ages 18 months–7 years)
Your dancer will gain confidence, coordination, strength and focus all while having fun. Classes are structured to be enjoyable and engaging while incorporating imaginative play, musicality and spatial awareness. We are happy to welcome your dancer to our studio and help them soar into the beautiful world of dance.
It takes place right after school and at select schools to make it easier for kids to participate. Some students may want to progress into the more technical aspects of dance and choose to take other Dance Academy classes. Other students may simply want to enjoy a fun and engaging opportunity to dance with their friends. In the end, everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy dance.
(ages 18 years & up)
Adult classes are geared toward those ages 18 years and older. We offer a variety of participation options from drop-in classes to multi-week class sessions. Classes are offered all year, so you’ll always have the opportunity to come dance. Bring a friend or come by yourself. We accept all dancers no matter the level of experience.
BPD Dance Company
The BPD Dance Company is a year long, premier performance dance team from the BPD Dance At this time, participation in the BPD Dance Company is by invitation only to select Mini (5–7 years) and Junior (8–12 years) aged dancers. The BPD Dance Company is derived of dancers who have been recognized for being hard-working, dedicated and professional with great potential to become strong and confident young performers. The BPD Dance Company focuses on choreography and dance technique for a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro and Tap. Our dancers can be seen performing at events throughout the Bolingbrook Community and surrounding areas all year long.
To teach our dancers the value of commitment, hard work, integrity, leadership, self-confidence, positive attitudes and a love for dance in order to help dancers realize and reach their highest potential as performance and competitive dancers.
Youth & Teen Classes (ages 7–18 years)
Youth & teen dance classes are structured for ages 7–18 years old. Class offerings range from beginner to advanced levels and are great for dancers looking to progress in a certain skill, or try something new. Our program focuses on teamwork, effort, energy, and measuring success through personal improvement and completion of goals. Our passionate and energetic instructors will provide affordable, high-quality instruction to give your dancer the best experience possible.
After School Dance Classes (school-aged kids)
The Powerdance Program is in place to offer a fun and safe environment for school-age kids to be introduced to dance with their friends.
Instructors may suggest that students change class levels of training if they feel it is in the best interest of the student. We encourage parents to follow the advice of the instructors so that their child can receive the best possible dance training.
Dance COMPANY
Bolingbrook Park District may replace or substitute teachers as needed, at any time during the session.
While kept to a minimum, if your child’s class should require a make-up day, we will work to add a class to the end of the session and notify all participants in advance.

Please also keep in mind, while ages have been provided in the brochure’s description of classes to assist in the registration process they do not supersede the recommendation of the teacher. Please stay in a level until the teacher recommends advancement. *Do not hesitate to request feedback or evaluation from your teacher.*
