Bolingbrook Park District preschool programs, offered for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years of age, believes in "Learning through Play." Play is the most important aspect of a child's life. It is their work; where they learn to interact, share and cooperate. Through play, a child is not only building a strong foundation for intellectual development but is also learning how to deal with emotions, decision making and problem solving. Carefully supervised free play is vital and is designed to be safe and appropriate for the age group. Preschool curriculum concepts for the school year include the following areas; pre-writing/ writing, interest, math/science, early literacy, gross motor, music and art creation. The teacher's role is vital throughout the day as a co-discoverer (not merely dispenser) of knowledge and facilitator (not merely manager) of play. Preschoolers in these programs are preparing for success in future learning.
SOON 2B3 PROGRAM
Children 2 ½–3 years old have their first positive experiences in a preschool classroom and become comfortable separating from parents for a regular period of time. Development of social skills, large and small motor skills, and basic curriculum concepts are a part of your child’s day. Diapers and pull-ups are acceptable to begin with, but children should be on their way to taking care of their own toileting needs. This class runs 2 days per week.
3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM

Bolingbrook Park District has a long history of offering high quality dance instruction for all ages. We offer everything from toddler classes to adult classes, an after-school program future, we will continue this tradition by bringing all of our unique dance programs into one cohesive department with the introduction of the Bolingbrook Park District Dance Academy.
The BPD Dance Academy offers professional instruction in all styles of dance for dancers ages 18 months to adults. With our outstanding and passionate teaching staff, our dance academy is one of the best in the state, nationallyrecognized, and progressive in its programming.
What you’ll gain from participating in the Bolingbrook Park District Dance Academy:
• Confidence
• Coordination
• Strength
• Focus
• Teamwork
Early Childhood Dance Classes (ages 18 months–7 years)
Your dancer will gain confidence, coordination, strength and focus all while having fun. Classes are structured to be enjoyable and engaging while incorporating imaginative play, musicality and spatial awareness. We are happy to welcome your dancer to our studio and help them soar into the beautiful world of dance.
Youth & Teen Classes (ages 7–18 years)
Youth & teen dance classes are structured for ages 7–18 years old. Class offerings range from beginner to advanced levels and are great for dancers looking to progress in a certain skill, or try something new. Our program focuses on teamwork, effort, energy, and measuring success through personal improvement and completion of goals.
Our passionate and energetic instructors will provide affordable, high-quality instruction to give your dancer the best experience possible.
After School Dance Classes (school-aged kids)
The Powerdance Program is in place to offer a fun and safe environment for school-age kids to be introduced to dance with their friends.
It takes place right after school and at select schools to make it easier for kids to participate. Some students may want to progress into the more technical aspects of dance and choose to take other Dance Academy classes. Other students may simply want to enjoy a fun and engaging opportunity to dance with their friends. In the end, everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy dance.
Adult Dance Classes (ages 18 years & up)
Adult classes are geared toward those ages 18 years and older. We offer a variety of participation options from drop-in classes to multi-week class sessions. Classes are offered all year, so you’ll always have the opportunity to come dance. Bring a friend or come by yourself. We accept all dancers no matter the level of experience.
The BPD Performance Company is a year long, premier performance dance team from the BPD Dance Academy. At this time, participation in the BPD Performance Company is by invitation only to select Mini (5–7) and Junior (8–12) aged dancers. The BPD Performance Company is derived of dancers who have been recognized for being hard-working, dedicated and professional, with great potential to become strong and confident young performers. The BPD Performance Company focuses on choreography and dance technique for a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro and Tap. Our dancers can be seen performing at events throughout the Bolingbrook Community and surrounding areas all year long.
Our Mission: To teach our dancers the value of commitment, hard work, integrity, leadership, selfconfidence, positive attitudes and a love for dance in order to help dancers realize and reach their highest potential as performance and competitive dancers.
Instructors may suggest that students change class levels of training if they feel it is in the best interest of the student. We encourage parents to follow the advice of the instructors so that their child can receive the best possible dance training.
Bolingbrook Park District may replace or substitute teachers as needed, at any time during the session.
While kept to a minimum, if your child’s class should require a make-up day, we will work to add a class to the end of the session and notify all participants in advance.

Keep in mind: While the dance department offers classes by session, students should take a class for at least one year or more, until the requirements of the next level have been mastered. Participating in a class for just a session or two may not be a sufficient length of time to adequately prepare the student for the next level of training. While ages have been provided in the brochure’s description of classes they do not supersede the recommendation of the teacher. Please stay in a level until the teacher recommends advancement. *Do not hesitate to request feedback or evaluation from your teacher.

If you've ever watched ballroom dancers or seen, “Dancing with the Stars,” you’ve probably have seen and heard of the playful and fun, “Cha-Cha,” along with the flirtatious and romantic, “Rumba.” Cha Cha and Rumba can be danced to many current styles of today’s music which means it can be danced in many places and events as well.

We offer 3 recreational seasons for players aged 4–18, while our travel program is year-round for players aged 7–19. Both programs are open to girls and boys.
Our recreational in-house program is designed to introduce players to the game of soccer at the younger ages with increased expectations and training as the players get older. We have various rules of play aimed at evenly distributing playing time, positional work, and fair play. Some important overview information on our in-house program is noted in the chart below. Our spring cost (including fees) is $118 for residents and $125 for non-residents. Registration is available online through our website.
