IMPORTANT UPDATES BPU COMMUNITY LAUNCH "Pathify"

In late September 2022, the new mobile application, BPU Community (also known as Pathify) was made available for community access. Since then, the app has been downloaded by over 900 active users and A&IT has hosted additional training and support sessions for departmental content managers to improve access and functionality! However, our work doesn’t end there.

As our one-stop shop for connecting our community, BPU Community began the transition to our new university portal on February 10, 2023. Outlined below are details regarding major milestones and communication details to anticipate as we move forward.

MAJOR MILESTONES:

February 10, 2023 – Soft launch. The BPU Community desktop portal was made available. Check it out at: one.baypath.edu!

February 10, 2023 - June 30, 2023 – Cutover period. Community members can begin using the new desktop portal and mobile app as their primary portal destination. All non-critical content at my.baypath.edu will be removed and replaced with redirect pages pointing to the new portal throughout this period. Departments will be working to update documents and support documentation with links that point to the new portal as well.

July 3, 2023 – Hard launch. All community members will be using the new desktop portal and the mobile app as the official BPU portal. The old portal at my.baypath.edu will remain in service for critical processes like budgets but will be accessible only by redirects. For an example of how this interaction works, please reference the video linked here.

You can expect more progress updates from the Analytics & Innovative Technology team over the next few months! For interim updates, we encourage community members to view our project timeline here or our FAQ linked here.

To download BPU Community and get an early feel for the new platform, use the links below!

CORE VALUE OF THE MONTH

INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE DRIVE US

Fulfilling our learners' dreams requires a relentless commitment to innovation and a passion for excellence in all we do. We value creativity and nimbleness in innovating on behalf of our students, and we strive for the highest standards of integrity by making responsible decisions, acting with uncompromising honesty, and taking genuine pride in our work.

For the month of April, we are putting a special emphasis on the Core Value, "Innovation and Excellence Drive Us." Below you will find examples provided from the Community Week session and from other community conversations of how your colleagues are intentionally incorporating the Core Values into their work.

Here are some of the ways YOU are committing to this Core Value in your work:

Work smarter, not harder

Ask questions like: Why is it being done this way?

Have workshops in each Core Value to elevate knowledge, skills, and confidence to support staff, faculty, and students in all aspects of life

Continually improve upon courses and resources

Do not settle in a rapidly changing landscape.

Ask questions like: Where are our students' needs and preferences pivoting? How do we rethink our structure, processes, and student interactions to accommodate this need?

Take marketing efforts to new places in different formats to keep BPU branding current Keep up with current trends and industry changes, constantly learn within my field

Use platforms to allow students access to all curriculum

Be open to new technology to support ourselves and our students

Look for better ways to be productive and to add value to my job, my community, and my surroundings

THE ART OF INNOVATION

GOLDEN COMPASS AWARD WINNER

APRIL 2023

Nominated by Dr. Heather Gould, Amanda Duncan, and the entire TAWC advising staff!

"Kara is absolutely incredible and goes above and beyond for each and every one of our TAWC students. She goes out of her way to make sure that all students are getting the aid that they deserve and to maximize grants and scholarships to set them up for the best success upon graduation. She is one of the most compassionate, patient, and kind humans I have ever met/had the pleasure of working with. It takes a special person to work in SFS and remain positive all the time when many of her conversations are with students who are stressed out, confused, and overwhelmed. Students often relay to me that she was patient, kind, and thorough with them. Her students always come first and she is always working seamlessly with other departments to make sure the student is receiving the best experience possible."

"Kara is always willing to collaborate with offices around campus to troubleshoot student issues and provide creative solutions to address the financial barriers that are so detrimental to our students and their progress. She takes the time and care to talk through complex financial aid questions, and helps our students understand how to responsibly finance their education. Kara approaches her daily work, even during the most high-stress times, with a caring heart and a great sense of humor. Kara is often described by her colleagues on the advising team as a "bright light". Her positive attitude and high energy are contagious and make her a joy to work with. This nomination is on behalf of the whole TAWC advising team, who all want Kara to know what a difference she makes!"
