Hello! We are happy to share with you the Nextview WOW. Here at Nextview, we’ve built a strong culture over the years. However, we’ve never formalized it, nor communicated it. Now that we are accelerating our growth, it seems like a natural moment to capture what we all believe to be the basis for our winning culture. So here we are. Our Way Of Working. Our WOW. The ‘wow’ we want to experience ourselves in our daily work, but as important, the ‘wow’ experience we want to deliver to our clients, partners and community. We are a purpose-driven company. It is our mission to create a positive impact in the world and inspire others. We know we can create the biggest impact if we all live by, and work by the same values and principles. These are our checks, guidelines for our daily behaviour. Our culture is defined by them, and naturally, it will further evolve and progress as we continue growing.

What is written here is central to everything we do at Nextview. But it’s not a strict handbook. We trust you to use your common sense and make your own decisions, together with your co-workers, using the values and principles described here as a guide. This is a living document. Like our company culture, it will be updated from time to time, so we can add or edit parts to follow our path from birth to adulthood. We started in 2009 as a consulting firm, helping companies with implementing user-friendly and innovative IT solutions. The last decade we have been growing fast, transforming ourselves on the go. Nextview supports the Global Goals for Sustainable Development of the United Nations We do what we can to help achieve all of them by 2030. They are all important to us. At Nextiew we pay special care to an inclusive and diverse workforce, climate action and life under water. We also serve as a community connector, inspiring partnerships for the goals. We want to be inclusive and celebrate diversity. We support initiatives to promote this, such as Respect Education Foundation Hackathon, the Hague Hacks Design for Activism and Female Tech Heroes.

Already thousands of companies around the world have taken the pledge, and dozens of VCs, incubators, and conferences have joined to push the movement forward. Nextview is proud to pledge 1%.

Plastic Whale Co. Together for plastic free waters Plastic Whale is a social enterprise with a mission: make the world’s waters plastic-free and create value out of plastic waste. We have teamed up with them to build a Design Thinking Center boat from recycled plastic. Over 5.000 PET bottles were used! Today, we are partner and are an impact investor of Plastic Whale. Operating a fleet of twelve boats made from plastic from the Amsterdam canals. As part of the experience in our Design Thinking Center, we use the boats to take our partners and customers fishing

for plastic. Also, we invite CEO’s of every company we work for to be part of the Plastic Whale network, where business leaders can meet and talk about the opportunities to create a better, cleaner world. Plastic Whale Co. recently also launched a new line of sustainable office furniture made from canal plastics, which we use in our offices, and can even be found in the boardrooms of our clients! This way, we inspire others to find solutions for their sustainable objectives.

As technology evolves to fit new, complex challenges, we design solutions for people first. We constantly discover, design and deliver. It’s embedded in who we are and what we do. Just like the fact that we use an agile scrum approach to create speed, flexibility and a shared responsibility.

We possess the expertise needed for business transformation beyond the primary functional and technical skills. But we’re never dogmatic in our methods. We always pragmatically combine the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the conditions for success. With cutting-edge tools needed to dig deep into the problem, create insights and prototype solutions. Here we can bring mixed teams together to work and play hard towards superior results. And we’re so lucky, it happens to be our daily office too! Nextview has Design Thinking Centers in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, at the High Tech Campus. In 2020 we start at the Design Offices in Frankfurt. Our Design Thinking Center in Frankfurt is scheduled to open in 2021.

Nextview Academy is our in-house academy for all there is in the know about Salesforce, Agile, Scrum, Service Design and Transformation management. Nextview is an authorized reseller of the official Salesforce training kit. We provide you with the skills and knowledge to get the most out of Salesforce. We have modules for every role within your company, from end-user to developer. Our team of Certified Salesforce Instructors are happy to lead you through the ins & outs of all modules. We love to train people from our clients, external specialists and our own co-workers. For the latter, be aware it is compulsory if you want to survive! Courses are given in Dutch, German and English in Utrecht, Eindhoven and Frankfurt.

What does it mean for our daily lives?

It means that we should not make short-term decisions - however lucrative or otherwise appealing - that hurt our purpose.

It means we are not so much fascinated by challenges that focus primarily on shareholder value.

It means we fanatically use our business and skills to create a positive future. It means we’re all stimulated to take initiatives to do good, for example as part of our 1% Pledge.

It also means we are extremely excited to work for clients that share the same forward-looking vision.

And it means that, from the way we live our private lives, to the way we commute to work, to the way we help our clients with improving the lives of their customers, we always strive to balance people, planet and profit.

If our purpose is our destination, our values are our itinerary Our values are our ‘how to get there’. As humans, we all have personal values to live by. They steer our behavior. As these values are yours, they are very personal. As Nextview, as a company of people, we share three wonderful values that have kept us en route since the start of our journey.

Our values are at the heart of every decision we make. And we expect you to do the same. Got it.

We translate how we behave in personal life to how we behave in the business context. There’s no hierarchy, no status symbols. No parking places or corner offices for the management team. We like to help each other and easily ask for help. We give and receive compliments. We are not afraid to tell each other what we really think. Even if it is a difficult message.

We work as friends Nothing is more important than having fun at work and collaborating in a way that is close to how we deal with people in our personal lives.

This holds true not only for co-workers but also for our customers. and partners. We are ready for tough conversations to make things better. While we grow, it becomes a challenge to work as friends with everybody, but still, we take the effort to connect and treat each other how we would treat friends. And while working together, we have lots of fun.

You understand why, do you?

While grown-ups often come with solutions, children always come with questions. The adult often already jumps to the solution before the problem is made clear. But kids keep questioning why, why, why. It’s up to us to be the kid that asks questions. Because we’re a team of different backgrounds - be it business consultancy, tech, or service design - we have a lot of different types of questions to ask. And let’s not be easily satisfied with the answers. Because we’re well informed questioners, who know the trends and challenges of the industry. We are one, but we’re not the same It’s not just our different professional backgrounds that make us look through different lenses. What does it mean for our daily lives?

It means we do not take a brief for granted. When we are asked to do something, we will not just do it,but always ask ourselves first, if we understand the true reason for the request. And we are bold enough to ask if we don’t fully understand. It means that if it is not clear, we organize ourselves to first understand the real question. We need to set up a small or large process to discover before we develop and deliver.

It means that we should not count on ourselves alone to understand what’s at stake, it’s even better to involve others with a different perspective. It also means that if the question is not so clear from the start, and there is no space to make it clear, we are pragmatic enough and trust we will make it clear later on. And it means we have to keep pushing ourselves not to be mere Salesforce techies, as we want to understand what’s happening in the world from a much bigger picture.

We all think design


Don’t you love it when in the end all the dots hang together? Design Thinking is not the exclusive domain of designers, all great innovators in arts, music, science, engineering, and business practice it. Our designled consulting approach is a non-linear, iterative process which seeks to understand people, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. At Nextview our design-led method consists of 4 phases: Empathize, Discover, Prototype and Test and we keep going through this loop until it all hangs together perfectly.

Our design-led consulting approach, for sure works better. Design thinking has the potential to do for innovation exactly what TQM did for manufacturing: unleash people’s full creative energies, win their commitment, and radically improve processes . Most execs have at least heard about design thinking tools like ethnographic research, the emphasis on reframing problems and experimentation, the use of diverse teams, and so on. But many people may not yet understand the subtle way that design thinking gets around human rootedness in the status quo. Or attachments to specific behavioural norms that time and again block the exercise of the imagination.

It means we are inspired by a design-led way of digital development and share our enthusiasm with the people around us.

It means we don’t dive head over heels into the Salesforce functionality and stick to it, but we dare to adapt and approve the plan on the go.

It means that what we develop not only functions as intended, it must also create a user wow that exceeds expectations.

Our strategy is actions fast. But you got that already, right? Since our inception back in 2009, we have been growing faster than competitors by executing, discovering and shaping the right strategy. While we grow fast we remain flexible, stay pragmatic in our thinking, and always stay far away from big corporate bullsh*t. Big strategies are nice, but they are useless if the right person or team does not pick up the ball and starts running. We find the inspiration for our adventurous journey, set our compass motivate each other and then start moving fast together. Let’s see how far we get. And when we encounter troubles on the go, we

Are you in charge of your own actions?

We are an independent company with an extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit. Not just shareholders, but everyone at Nextview, regardless of role and level, thinks and acts like an owner with a shared purpose. We’re proud of that. It makes us strong and able to make our dreams come true. It takes freedom, trust, and vulnerability to have everyone make their own responsible choices. Micro management is just another word for holding back personal and company growth. Putting teams in the driving seat is the best way to go places.

It’s a mutual thing When people are given freedom to make their own decisions, we trust them to take full and conscious responsibility. Collective company interests should be ahead of their own. Resources should be spent wisely. Actions should be transparent and accountable. And

although accountability is often a shared thing, we should never hide behind our team if something fails. Mistakes will happen. That’s okay, as long as you own it. At Nextview, we’ll coach you to become comfortable with your responsibilities.

Fun and laughter are essential to experience happiness at work. It’s one of the things we’ve cherished since the beginning of building Nextview and ties in very well with our value to work as friends. We grab every opportunity to celebrate memorable moments. Comprises processes such as context analysis, problem finding and framing, ideation and solution generating, creative thinking, sketching and drawing, modelling and prototyping, testing and evaluating.

Development under which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organizing and cross-functional teams and their customer(s)/end user(s). It advocates adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, and continual improvement, and it encourages rapid and flexible response to change.
