Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
Following the defeat of Mechagodzilla, Kong now resides in the Hollow Earth while Godzilla remains on the surface Earth and continues to control the balance between humanity and giant monsters, or “Titans.” A Monarch station located in the Hollow Earth picks up an unidentified signal, which in turn reaches Jia (Hottle), the last known survivor of the Iwi tribe from Skull Island, and Godzilla. Suspecting the signal and Godzilla’s behavior to be a sign of an upcoming
battle, Kong expert Dr. Ilene Andrews (Hall), Titan veterinarian Trapper (Stevens) and Jia attempt to decipher the signal and assist Godzilla and Kong in the ultimate battle between bestial Titans.

University professor and writer Thelonious “Monk” Ellison (Wright) is an upper-class Black man who, while receiving aca-
demic acclaim for his writing, fails to establish an audience. A critique he often receives from the publishers who reject his book is that his writing is not “Black enough.” After noticing a trend of Black authors achieving success for books that pander to Black stereotypes, Monk writes a satirical book out of contempt. To his surprise, it receives critical acclaim and is even offered a movie deal. Through it all, Monk struggles to reconcile his identity with the societal stereotypes and expectations, as well as his desire to be truly seen.

The Supreme Court of the United States, or “SCOTUS,” continues to shoot itself in the nuts, or “scrotus.” ... There is a brand-new scandal involving Supreme Court Justice ... Samuel Alito. ... This weekend [May 25-26,] ... we found out that in January of 2021, just days after the Capitol Riot, an

Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan star in “Bridgerton”
“Bridgerton”
- Season 3, Part 2
With the social season in full swing, more salacious romances and rumors abound. The hit Regency-era drama “Bridgerton” debuts the highly anticipated second installment of its third season Thursday, June 13, on Netflix. While Season 1 set screens aflame with the tumultuous romance between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor, “Dickensian”) and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page, “For The People”), Season 2 focused on the love life of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey, “Broadchurch”), the eldest of the family’s children, and Kate (Simone Ashley, “Sex Education”), who went from butting heads to blissful marriage. Now, Season 3 has set things heating up once again with the friends-to-lovers story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, “The Lodge”) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, “Derry Girls”). After returning home from a months-long trip across Europe, Colin finds himself in a precarious position after offering his good friend Penelope lessons to help her overcome her awkwardness in social situations, find her confidence and win herself a husband. But, as the “lessons” between the friends start to bring the pair closer than ever, Penelope being courted by the handsome Lord Debling (Sam Phillips, “The Crown”) has Colin questioning what his feelings for his friend really are. Meanwhile, Penelope’s friendship with Eloise (Claudia Jessie, “Porters”) remains rocky, while Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd, “Enola Holmes 2,” 2022) shines as the queen’s diamond of the season. From Shondaland Productions and executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Chris Van Dusen of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “Private Practice,” the series is directed by executive producer Tom Verica (“Scandal”), Tricia Brock (“Saving Grace”) and Andrew Ahn (“This Close”). The Season 3 cast also includes Luke Thompson (“Dunkirk,” 2017), Golda Rosheuvel (“Dune,” 2021), Adjoa Andoh (“Fractured,” 2019), Ruth Gemmell (“Fever Pitch,” 1997), Jessica Madsen (“Leatherface,” 2017), Polly Walker (“Pennyworth”), Harriet Cains (“Marella”), Bessie Carter (“Beecham House”), Florence Hunt (“Cursed”), Will Tilston (“Goodbye Christopher Robin,” 2018), Kathryn Drysdale (“The Windsors”), Emma Naomi (“Professor T”), Martins Imhangbe (“The Soldier’s Tale,” 2022) and Hannah New (“Black Sails”).
Andrew McCarthy, director and executive producer of
“Brats” (2024)
ABC News Studios in partnership with NEON and Network Entertainment, presents the new, featurelength documentary film “Brats,” premiering Thursday, June 13, on Hulu. In the 1980s, a number of comingof-age films — including “St. Elmo’s Fire” (1985) and “The Breakfast Club” (1985) — took the pop culture world by storm, with the young actors in the cast of such movies being labeled the “Brat Pack.” As this new wave of ‘80s teen film connected with young audiences in a way that have never been achieved before, the actors in the Brat Pack found their careers and their lives being shaped by the label for decades.
“Director and Brat-Packer Andrew McCarthy, who rose to stardom in such films as ‘Pretty in Pink’ [1986], ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ and ‘Less Than Zero’ (1987) and wrote the New York Times bestselling memoir ‘Brat: An ‘80s Story,’ goes right to the source, reuniting with his fellow Brat-Packers — friends, colleagues and former foes, many of whom he had not seen for over 30 years — to answer the question: What did it mean to be part of the Brat Pack?” (per ABC News Studios). Traveling all over the country, McCarthy meets up with some of his other Brat Pack members to get their perspectives, including Rob Lowe (“9-1-1: Lone Star”), Demi Moore (“Ghost,” 1990), Ally Sheedy (“WarGames,” 1983), Emilio Estevez (“The Way,” 2010), Jon Cryer (“Two and a Half Men”), Lea Thompson (“Back to the Future,” 1985) and Timothy Hutton (“Leverage”), along with directors, casting directors, screenwriters and producers who worked on these films.
“Wreck” - Season 2
Following up on the stunning conclusion of its first season, all hands are on deck for Season 2 of the horror comedy series “Wreck” when it premieres Tuesday, June 11, on Hulu. The series follows 19-year-old Jamie Walsh (Oscar Kennedy, “School’s Out Forever,” 2021) as he investigates the disappearance of his sister, Pippa (Jodie Tyack, “The Window”). During the first season, Jamie’s investigation sees him join the crew of the Sacramentum cruise ship, where he discovers that first class passengers pay Velorum, the company running the Sacramentum, to kill staff for their own pleasure. The second season begins seven months following last season’s conclusion.
“Doctor Who” – Season 14
Whether you’ve been watching him since William Hartnell (“Carry on Sergeant,” 1958) appeared on screen in 1963, if you hopped on board when David Tennant (“Broadchurch”) joined the series as the Tenth Doctor, or if Ncuti Gatwa (“Barbie,” 2023) brought you to the game, all fans of “Doctor Who” can rejoice, knowing an all-new episode will be available to stream this Friday, June 14, on Disney+. First introduced in the 2023 Christmas special, the Doctor is now joined by his latest companion, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson, “Coronation Street”), and together, the two have crossed the furthest reaches of the universe, encountering the likes of the Bogeyman, the devil’s chord, fairy circles and more. This latest episode, “The Legend of Ruby Sunday,” written by showrunner Russell T. Davies (“Torchwood”) and directed by Jamie Donoughue (“A Town Called Malice”), will see the duo of time-and-space travelers embark on their second to last adventure of the season, with next week’s episode, “Empire of Death,” set to close this first season for Gatwa’s Doctor. Season 14 of “Doctor Who” has also starred Michelle Greenidge (“It’s a Sin”), Angela Wynter (“EastEnders”), Anita Dobson (“Red Dwarf”), Jemma Redgrave (“The Beekeeper,” 2024), Bonnie Langford (“Just William”), Yasmin Finney (“Heartstopper”), Alexander Devrient (“Ted Lasso”) and more.
“Celebrating Donald Duck’s 90th Anniversary”
To celebrate nine decades of the orange-billed duck himself, three original Disney shorts starring Donald Duck – “Crazy Over Daisy,” “Out on a Limb” and “DIY Duck” – will be made available to stream on Disney+, this Sunday, June 9. The first feature, “Crazy Over Daisy,” was first released by Walt Disney Productions in 1950, produced in technicolor to offer Donald fans a clean, crisp look at Donald’s bright red top and charming straw hat. Set in the 1890s, the six-minute short follows as Donald heads through town on his way to visit Daisy, followed closely by the ever-mischievous Chip n’ Dale, who make his journey more and more difficult with every step he takes.
“Daddy’s Home” (2015)
Starring Will Ferrell (“Blades of Glory,” 2007), Mark Wahlberg (“Boogie Nights,” 1997) and more, the 2015 buddy-comedy film, “Daddy’s Home,” will be available to stream on Prime Video as of Sunday, June 9. Directed by Sean Anders (“Instant Family,” 2018), the film follows as the mild-mannered Brad Whitaker (Ferrell) bends over backwards to earn the love of his two stepchildren, eager to have them call him “Dad.” Brad’s best efforts are diminished, however, by the return of the kids’ tough and macho biological father, Dusty Mayron (Wahlberg), who makes it his personal mission to intimidate Brad and re-establish his role in the family home. From dogs named Tumor, to treehouses, to tirades at the fertility doctor, Dusty does all he can to drive a wedge between Brad, his ex-wife and their children, causing nonstop upheaval in the process. Written by Anders – alongside Brian Burns (“Blue Bloods”) and John Morris (“Spirited,” 2022) – “Daddy’s Home” also stars Linda Cardellini (“Scooby-Doo,” 2002), Thomas Haden Church (“Sideways,” 2004), Scarlett Estevez (“Minions: The Rise of Gru,” 2022), Owen Wilder Vaccaro (“The House with a Clock in Its Walls,” 2018), Bobby Cannavale (“Ant-Man,” 2015), Hannibal Buress (“Neighbors,” 2014), Bill Burr (“Old Dads,” 2023) and Jamie Denbo (“The Heat,” 2013), among many others.
“Blue Lights” – Season 2
The second season of the UK-based police procedural, “Blue Lights,” will debut this Thursday, June 13, on the BritBox Prime Video Channel. Set in the fictional Blackthorn police station (located in Belfast, Northern Ireland), the series follows the personal and professional lives of those in the unit, including officer Grace Ellis (Siân Brooke, “Sherlock”) – who joined the force in her 40s, after leaving her job as a social worker – and her fellow rookies, Annie Conlon (Katherine Devlini, “Vikings”) and Tommy Foster (played by newcomer Nathan Braniff). Grace is joined by her introverted, lone wolf partner, Stevie Neil (Martin McCann, “The Survivalist,” 2015), who works tirelessly to show his fellow officer the ins and outs of keeping Belfast safe. With new episodes dropping weekly, this second season will consist of six hour-long episodes, and will see the Blackthorn team facing their biggest strife yet, as a major gang feud fires up in town.
