Late Laughs
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Thank you for joining us here in Los Angeles on what was a big afternoon [May 30] in New York and for the United States of America. We have a verdict in the case of The People vs. OJ ... I mean DJ. Donald John Trump is guilty of 34 felony charges. After seven long weeks, the courtroom
is empty and Donald Trump’s diaper is full.
Poor Donald Trump. Seven weeks of sleep farting all down the drain. You do have to hand it to him; no president has ever been convicted more than Donald Trump.
Late Night With Seth Meyers (R)
In a new foreword in the paperback version of his memoir, former national
security adviser John Bolton criticized former president [Donald] Trump and said, “A mountain of facts demonstrates that Trump is unfit to be president,” and it’s never a good sign when a paperback book has the strongest spine in the party.
The New York Mets have announced that for the first half of the season, Saturday day games will start at 1:40 p.m., in an effort to bring more families and large groups to the ballpark. Well, I guess that’s easier than being good at baseball.

“Trigger Warning” (2024)
Lay down the law with star Jessica Alba (“Fantastic Four,” 2005) in the new action thriller flick “Trigger Warning,” premiering Friday, June 21, on Netflix. A highly skilled Special Forces commando, Parker (Alba) is overseas on active duty when she receives the tragic news that her father has died quite suddenly. Returning to her hometown to settle her father’s affairs and take over the bar that he left to her, Parker soon finds herself going head-to-head against a violent gang that is running rampant in the town. Working to uncover what really happened to her father, while using her own military-honed skills to take on the local gang, Parker teams up with “her former boyfriend-turnedsheriff Jesse [Mark Webber, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,’ 2010], his hot-tempered brother, Elvis [Jake Weary, ‘Animal Kingdom’], and their powerful father, Sen. Swann [Anthony Michael Hall, ‘The Dead Zone’],” as well as “her covert ops partner and hacker, Spider [Tone Bell, ‘Survival of the Thickest’], and connected local dealer Mike [Gabriel Basso, ‘The Night Agent’],” to get to the bottom of what’s really going on in Swann County.
“America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders”
Go behind the scenes of cheerleading’s most iconic franchise when “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” premieres Thursday, June 20, on Netflix. Following the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders from the very start through to the end of the 2023-24 NFL season, this docuseries chronicles the hard work that the cheerleaders must put in and the grueling standards they must hold to in order to secure a coveted position on the team. Starting at the 2023 auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season as they perform alongside the Dallas Cowboys, the series gives viewers access to the team in a way that the public has never seen before.
“Led by longtime director Kelli Finglass, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders open their doors to document the personal stories behind the uniforms — revealing the drive, hustle and drama among the cheerleaders and coaches. For many, it’s a dream to make the team — but that’s only just the beginning” (per Netflix).
The seven-episode series is directed by Greg Whiteley (“Last Chance U”).
“Federer: Twelve Final Days”
Get an inside look at the storied career of a tennis legend with “Federer: Twelve Final Days” when it premieres Thursday, June 20, on Prime Video. After first stepping onto the professional tennis circuit in 1998, Roger Federer, an icon of men’s tennis, is hanging up his racket. Originally filmed as a home video that was never intended to be distributed to the public, “Twelve Final Days” follows along with Federer through the final 12 days of his illustrious professional playing career. Now 42, the Swiss native has amassed an impressive list of achievements, with 20 grand slam tournament titles, an Olympic gold medal and an Olympic silver medal included in his impressive legacy. Now, “the film captures Federer at his most vulnerable and candid self, as he says goodbye to a game and the fans that shaped his life for the last two decades” (per Prime Video). Also featuring interviews from fellow tennis greats, including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokivic and Andy Murray, “Twelve Final Days” is helmed by directors Asif Kapadia (“Amy,” 2016) and Joe Sabia (“73 Questions”).
“Power of the Dream” (2024)
Following a powerful and unlikely story that broke out of the WNBA, the feature-length documentary, “Power of the Dream,” debuts Tuesday, June 18, on Prime Video. From acclaimed director Dawn Porter (“Luther: Never Too Much,” 2024), the piece documents the journey of a group of professional women’s basketball players, who joined forces with Georgia’s now-Senator Raphael Warnock to band against a WNBA team owner, forever changing the landscape of the sport — and the course of U.S. politics to come. Less than 30 years old, the WNBA has faced ample struggles since its origins, constantly underestimated compared to their male counterparts. Regardless, the league has met every challenge it faces, earning its spot as one of the most successful women’s sport leagues in the country.
“From its championing of LGBTQIA+ rights to its highlighting of the #BlackLivesMatter and #SayHerName movements, the league steps up. And when WNBA team owner Kelly Loeffler decided to disparage their efforts for change, the WNBA stepped up once more, forever changing U.S. politics,” explains a description for the film, offered by the Tribeca Film Festival.
“Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog”Season 4
The “Dog Whisperer” returns in the fourth season of his series, “Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog,” making its streaming debut on Disney+ Wednesday, June 19. Popularly known as a talented dog trainer, Cesar Millan (“Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan”) is now utilizing his skills to help guide the newly minted owners of adopted dogs as they (and their canine companions) adjust to new environments and handle behavioral issues. With dog adoptions at a record high, Millan hopes to give new pet parents the tools needed to teach their dogs good habits and to help them shed any bad behaviors, bridging the gap between man and man’s best friend with accessible tips and tricks. During this fourth season, Milan also expands his mission by — for the first time on TV — “preventing bad habits from ever forming by playing matchmaker to adoptive pet parents” (per Disney), ensuring the right match between dog and owner. From playing “doggy matchmaker,” to finding the perfect adoptive families for rescue pups, to helping struggling dogs — including a biting mini pinscher, a confused Goldendoodle and a pair of hyperdestructive Boston terriers — Milan tackles it all.

However, Marmalade’s impulsiveness causes their heist to fall apart, which leads to tragedy and Baron’s arrest. Now stuck in jail, Baron looks to convince Otis (Aldis Hodge, “City on a Hill”), his cellmate and experienced escape artist, to help him get out. Rounding out the cast are Ozioma Akagha (“Delilah”) as Det. Gray, Susan Brava (“Something Blue,” 2009) as Ms. Jenkins, Hans Christopher (“Animal Kingdom”) as Officer Cambio, Wayne Duvall (“O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” 2000) as Don, Jane Hammill (“A Serious Man,” 2009) as Sandy, Jim Lichtscheidl (“Farmer of the Year,” 2018) as Gary and Andrew E. “Prey” (2024)
Not to be confused with the countless other movies, books, TV shows, songs and even video games simply titled “Prey,” the 2024 action thriller “Prey,” written and directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil (“The Immaculate Room,” 2022), becomes available to stream Saturday, June 22, on Hulu.
