THE FOOD While many of the large hotels and resorts will cater to international tourists’ tastes, it’s the local food that travelers should sample. Curried goat, jerk chicken and oxtail stew are among the most common delicacies, as is saltfish and ackee (a fruit), which is the national dish.
BEAUTIFUL BEACHES There’s always a beach nearby for travelers who stay along the coast, with the most popular being the Seven Mile Beach in the west coast town of Negril. Montego Bay and Ocho Rios are also popular for their beaches, while the South Coast has a stretch of black sand called Treasure Beach.
