After completing this 3-day Branson itinerary, you'll undoubtedly feel refreshed. But with Branson offering so much more to explore, consider planning an extended getaway for your next visit.

When Charlie Bucket unwrapped the Wonka Bar and discovered that coveted golden ticket, his life changed forever. In that moment, he caught a glimmer of hope that something momentous was about to pivot his ordinary life in a new direction. It took just one special person with a dedicated heart to inspire Charlie and remind him that there is more to life than what meets the eye. Now, imagine a city filled with live shows year-round, dedicated to that same desire: to sprinkle a little bit of magic amidst the humdrum of daily life.

Magicians/Illusionists

REZA | Edge of Illusion

Reza, a world-renowned magician and illusionist from Brookings, South Dakota, encountered that dedicated someone early in his childhood. When he was six years old, a magician performed at his elementary school, inviting Reza from among his peers to join him on stage. After witnessing his classmates’ roar of excitement as he successfully completed his part of a trick, he realized his life’s passion would be to inspire awe and excitement in others through the art of magic and illusion. Since then, he has captivated over 150 million people from around the world and has graced the stages of shows like Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Masters of Illusion, and Duck Dynasty. As one of America’s fastest rising young stars, he made his Branson debut at the sprightly age of 15 and is now recognized as one of the “world’s top touring illusionists,” using music and humor in both his small-scale and mega illusions to charm his audience.

Dustin Tavella, Now I See

America’s Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella, is an acclaimed performer known for his inspirational and heartwarming performances. In the words of Simon Cowell, Tavella is a “born storyteller” dedicated to empowering others with the knowledge that we are surrounded by the extraordinary every day. For 20 years, Dustin has devoted his life to serving the world around him, making it clear that he does not possess the magic, but that the magic resides within us if we choose to see it. Through captivating acts, compelling stories,

and the power of audience engagement, Dustin has inspired families, communities, and businesses alike, and has also worked with youth, the homeless, and those struggling with drug addiction, becoming a living embodiment of hope and wonder for those who need it most.

Illusionist Rick Thomas - Mansion of Dreams

Award winner of the “Magician of the Year” award granted by the Academy of Magical Arts and bestowed with the highest recognition of “Illusionist of the World” by World Magic Awards, Rick Thomas’ Mansion of Dreams will astound you with some of the most mind-bending illusions on the globe. Thomas was inspired not by any magician, but by American dancer Gene Kelly and pianist Liberace. It was not so much their talent that enthralled him, but rather their unique disposition and showmanship that captivated crowds. Through keen observation of their performances, Thomas discerned that before one becomes a great magician, they must first channel their inner “actor.” By the age of 18, he was performing at the Disneyland Hotel, enchanted since he was seven years old by the park’s desire to create an atmosphere that truly amazes people instead of fooling them—a concept that he proudly reflects in his show today. Entwining magic with dance is another of Thomas’ passions, having been a ballroom dancing champion himself in his youth. He now performs with his equally talented wife, Tara Thomas, and with five world tours in over 50 countries under his belt, Rick Thomas’ Mansion of Dreams is not a Branson show you’ll want to miss.

Tribute Shows

MJ The Illusion: Re-living The King of Pop

Grand Shanghai Circus

There is an undeniable art and unspoken pressure behind the “illusion” of bringing dearly departed celebrities back to the stage. In fact, Michael Knight, now one of the top three Michael Jackson

Discover the mystifying talent of highly trained athletes at Amazing Acrobats – Grand Shanghai Circus. Celebrating 25 years in Branson’s entertainment industry, the Shanghai Circus acrobats will transport you more than 7,000 miles overseas with authentic costumes, music, dance, and scenery that honor the rich culture of historic Shanghai. Be astounded as expert performers showcase their skills through twenty different acts, including breathtaking acrobatics and high-flying aerial feats of strength. This year’s performance promises more variety and excitement than ever before, making it a must-see for visitors of all ages.

Tribute Artists in the world, describes himself as both a tribute artist and illusionist in his art, as the mastery of his costuming, vocals, makeup, and choreography is designed to replicate Jackson as closely to perfection as possible. Knight took interest in Michael Jackson when he was 14 years old, admiring his call for love and peace through his music and allowing it to shape the way he’s lived his life ever since. As a sign of his dedication, Knight sought out Travis Payne, backup dancer and choreographer for Cirque de Soleil’s Michael Jackson IMMORTAL, who obligingly helped inspire the choreography for Knight’s MJ role in Legends in Concert, his first Branson debut. MJ The Illusion: Re-living The King of Pop is a spectacular new show as of 2024 that takes you on a musical journey through Michael Jackson's Dangerous Tour.

This is not just a Michael Jackson tribute show—it's a Michael Jackson concert experience.

Legends in Concert

As the name implies, Legends in Concert is a Branson show that brings together an extraordinary cast of dancers and legendary voices from both the past and present for an unforgettable performance. Known as “the longestrunning self-produced, award-winning production on two coasts,” Legends in Concert was born from the mind of legendary Producer-Director John Stewart, a “Willy Wonka” of live tribute shows. John Stewart, known as the “Father” of what is now the “impersonation empire” throughout the world, brought this magnificent illusion to life 41 years ago. It all began when he took a trip to the World’s Fair, which showcased a special effects show that revealed spectacular technology like “robots,” “lasers,” and a “dancing water machine.”

Sometime after his trip, he stopped to admire a

massive sign on the side of a Hollywood building that displayed all the deceased celebrity “Legends” of the world. This artwork inspired him to use the equipment from the World’s Fair to resurrect these beloved stars on a Heaven-inspired production set, where they would have the greatest jam session of a lifetime (or “afterlifetime”). Today, Legends in Concert has long-running productions in Las Vegas, Nevada; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Branson, Missouri; and Waikiki, Hawaii. The show continues to incorporate elaborate theatrical sets, magnificent costumes, and a full array of incredible special effects, including threedimensional multimedia and multimillion-dollar,

state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, along with a live orchestra working in conjunction to pull off one grand illusion. What started in 1983 as a limited six-week engagement at the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has now become an esteemed Branson show that celebrates over 40 years of entertaining millions of fans from around the globe.

Dean Z – The Ultimate Elvis

When Dean Zeligman was just three years old, you might have found him rockin’ atop a coffee table, pulling off Elvis Presley’s signature moves while This is Elvis aired on television. Not a year later was he dressed in a dazzling white jumpsuit made by his mother and dancing away to “Jailhouse Rock” in front of a live audience. From that time on, his passion flourished throughout his school years and later blossomed into a full-time career. Remarkably, Dean never took dance or singing lessons, which highlights his naturalborn talent and the dedication he’s poured into perfecting this illusion. In 2013, Dean won the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., and in 2016, The Dean Z Show was born in Memphis, TN. Today, his Branson show, Dean Z – The Ultimate Elvis, showcases the classics from Elvis’ career through Dean Z’s incredible skill and artistry. While Elvis Presley was Dean’s crowning influence, he attributes his strong work ethic and generous spirit to his parents, whose values continue to shape his mission: to spread joy and happiness through Elvis’ legacy.

Sight & Sound Theatres

There is a place where the most powerful stories of all time are brought to life on stage,

and the way they’ve achieved it might astound you. Sight & Sound Theatres began with a dairy farmer, his wife, and a dream to serve God through a creative passion. Today, it is considered the largest faith-based theater company in the nation. The theatre houses a 300-foot stage, seats 2,000 guests, and accommodates sets up to 40-feet high. Its wraparound stage surrounds the audience on three sides, making it an incredibly immersive and unique experience. While the main cast performs on the grand platform, multiple background characters go on about their daily routines that are just as intriguing to watch, creating the illusion that you have crossed the threshold of time into an ancient land.

With locations in both Branson, Missouri, and Ronks, Pennsylvania, Sight & Sound

Theatres uses an array of technology and tricks to fabricate this theatrical magic. Trained animals make their way down the aisles past the audience; 3D video imaging is used to materialize living designs on stage; and pyrotechnics, moving sets, and artistic lighting amplify the overall vision of the display.

The costuming itself is equally impressive. For Sight & Sound’s production of QUEEN ESTHER, nearly 950 costumes in total were created, resulting in close to 3,000 individual costume pieces. It’s no wonder Sight & Sound Theatres is acclaimed as one of the top three theater destinations on the East Coast—a reputation that extends to its Branson location as well.

As a boy, Glenn Eshelman, the founder of Sight & Sound Theatres, had a fondness for landscape painting. As he grew older, he pursued the art of photography to use as references for his paintings. In fact, he was so passionate about his art that there was a time in which he sold paintings out of the back of his car just to make ends meet— that is, until he caught the attention of a local church. Eshelman took his passion a step further by sharing his photography in a presentation at the church, using a projector, a turntable for music, and a microphone for narration. The showcase overwhelmed the audience and was a huge success. This was

the first unofficial “Sight & Sound” show, sparked by a man with a passion and a church with a heart. The name “Sight & Sound” was inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 13:10-23, where He spoke of people who were hearing, but did not truly hear, and those who were seeing, but did not truly see. Therefore, it is the mission of Sight & Sound Theatres to fully open the eyes and ears of their audience through the miraculous historical retellings of God’s Word, featuring beautiful music, elaborate costumes, the most detailed sets imaginable, and a cast of incredibly talented professionals united under one goal—to spread love, hope, and truth to the Nations.

Branson is a remarkable place that transcends the ordinary, inspires greatness, fosters hope, and honors the past in a unified calling to bring peace, purpose, and perseverance to the globe. In the enchanting world of Branson entertainment, each show is an invitation to see the world through a fresh lens. As the legendary magician David Copperfield once said, "Before there can be wonders, there must be wonder," and Branson is the place where wonder takes shape.

The Haygoods

From upside-down guitar playing and jetpack stunts to LED light-up costumes and a magical harp performance, these give just a taste of the wildly entertaining acts that await you at The Haygoods. This family of six performers—five brothers and one sister—has been in the Branson spotlight since 1993, making their debut playing inside the gazebo at Silver Dollar City where they performed for nine years. This talented family began with humble roots, living in a mobile home in the beautiful Ozark backwoods. At age five, young Timothy Haygood was captivated by world-famous violinist, Itzhak Perlman, who played a magnificent piece on PBS’s Sesame Street. Thoroughly inspired, he begged his mother to enroll him in classical violin lessons, with three of his brothers following on his heels. From there, the Haygood family dedicated themselves to mastering vocal harmonies and incorporating dance into their act, which they performed at festivals and fairs across the Midwest.

Now, after 7,000 concerts and over 6,000,000 people entertained worldwide, The Haygoods has become the longest-running, most successful first-generation show in the history of Branson. If you know the Haygood family, you know they are always creatively searching for ways to take their show to the next level. For the biggest and most amazing SPX of their 2024 show, the Haygoods created a hologram with the help of Dean Z from Branson's famous Elvis tribute show, Dean Z - The Ultimate Elvis, which gives the illusion of Michael Haygood performing onstage alongside Elvis! Another incredible new addition features one of the world’s only indoor drone light shows! This act consists of 16 drones with custom-made lights that swirl around the stage while Michael shreds on the guitar. It took two years to make this segment a reality, and they are still in a developmental phase with the drones. Needless to say, in a world where entertainment constantly evolves, The Haygoods are a shining example of creativity, ingenuity, and passion.

Fun for all ages, but especially for the youngest of minds, is WonderWorks, an attraction which combines education and entertainment to create a unique experience called “edu-tainment.” In this “amusement park for the mind,” train like an astronaut and explore the planets, create sizable bubbles you could fit inside, become a human lightening rod through Nikola’s “Tesla Coil,” and withstand the wind-force of a category 1 hurricane, all of which will keep your little ones engaged for hours.

With over 1 million toys in store, the World’s Largest Toy Museum Complex offers six museums in one, featuring a diverse range of toy collections. Explore the evolution of toys from the 19th century to the present day, and shop for them afterward. While this museum is great for young kids, it brings a certain nostalgia to adults too. Leave the toys—and the hassle—at home and keep your children entertained during your visit with interactive exhibits such as Lincoln Logs, a Hot Wheels track, and coin-operated rides—only at the World’s Largest Toy Museum Complex!

There is a point in a child’s life when they not only begin understanding deeper, more complex concepts, but their physical strength and agility becomes much more refined. Let’s explore some Branson attractions that will allow them to exercise these next-level developments, like Fritz’s Adventure. Fritz’s Adventure is a safe place to let your children run, duck, and climb to their heart’s content, with over 80,000 square feet of space to explore! Ziplines, ropes courses, extreme slides, underground tunnels, rock climbing, a laser maze, and enclosed jungle gyms make up only half of what Fritz’s Adventure has to offer. Be sure to refuel at Fritz’s Café with a meal, refreshment, or dessert. A ticket lasts all day, so come and go as you please while having lasting adventures.

Take a trip to the Titanic Museum Attraction for an immersive education about that tragic day in history. Your children will love the personalized boarding pass they’ll receive upon entering the ship, each based on an actual Titanic passenger or crew member. Gain a glimpse into their lives in the galleries, where over 400 personal and private artifacts are on display, then discover their fate in the Titanic Memorial Room, where 2,208 names line the historic wall. For some hands-on activities, you’ll have an opportunity to touch the 28-degree water passengers experienced that night, stand on Titanic’s sloping decks, and explore numerous rooms, hallways, parlors, and the iconic Grand Staircase that closely resemble the living quarters of her voyagers long ago.

The Shipwrecked Treasure Museum features a wide variety of whimsical nautical novelties, pirate-themed toys, collectibles, and more. Discover sunken treasures lost at sea, such as Spanish coins and silver bars dating from the 1600s all the way through World War II, retrieved from submerged ships like the SS Republic and the Tortugas. Beyond treasure, Shipwrecked Treasure Museum displays 100% genuine artifacts as seen on National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, such as weaponry, preserved food and elixirs, and several rare, one-of-a-kind items.

Just minutes from Silver Dollar City, Talking Rocks Cavern can be found nestled in a 400-acre nature preserve. Your family will enjoy a comfortable 63 degrees inside the cave while listening to an experienced guide reveal the history and growth of these wondrous mineral and rock formations. The tour itself is an hour long, not too physically demanding, and goes as deep as 100 feet underground, making it just perfect for a young person to explore! If you’re seeking more adventure, the grounds also include hiking trails with a lookout tower, picnic areas, a gift shop, miniature golf, gemstone mining, kid’s play areas, and more!

We all know that when teens and young adults go into town—whether for coffee, shopping, or to find a cure for boredom— they rarely want to go alone. Sometimes that means bringing family along, and other times it’s about getting the friend group together!

The Hollywood Wax Museum not only entertains all age groups but is most fun when experienced with people you can laugh with and be yourself around. Explore 15,000 square feet of iconic movie scene displays from every decade of film history, where lifelike wax replicas of your favorite Hollywood stars await. Along the way, discover fascinating details about their lives and little-known facts, such as pet peeves and favorite foods. With King Kong climbing a skyscraper on the rooftop, you won’t be able to miss it!

At The Track Family Fun Parks, you and your group can ride the tallest attraction in town, the Branson Ferris Wheel, and swing from a 100-foot peak with up to three people maximum on the Skycoaster. Compete against friends on your choice of seven go-kart tracks, with three unique, high-rise tracks and four concrete tracks that vary by skill level. Other attractions include bumper boats, an arcade, batting cages, mini golf, and laser tag among several more exciting rides and activities to explore!

While you’re visiting Branson this summer, let Silver Dollar City’s White Water keep you cool. If you’re bringing a group (which we know you will), create a home base by reserving a private cabana or seating area for you and your crew. From heart-pounding rides and delicious eats to afterdark activities and a relaxing wave pool, White Water is two million gallons of fun and full of refreshing adventures!

To call it a “unique” attraction would be an understatement. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! showcases hundreds of artifacts ranging from a shrunken head to the world’s largest toilet paper roll. You’ll enjoy oneof-a-kind artworks from the collection of Robert Ripley as you make your way past the unthinkable and abnormal. The outside of the building is brightly colored and appears to be falling apart, with record-setting art pieces standing guard outside (you won’t miss the giant Transformer, Optimus Prime, towering nearly as tall as the building itself).

If challenging your friends to a game of pickleball or treating your better half to a lovely wine-and-dine sound like a muchneeded escape, then rest assured, you’ve come to the right place. Social Birdy is a fresh addition to Branson’s entertainment scene, offering a range of activities from pickleball courts and fantastic food to golf simulators and a PGA inspired 18-hole putting course. The venue also provides a number of small games and offers a bookable room for meetings or birthday parties! Whether you’re looking to compete or simply relax, Social Birdy provides the perfect atmosphere for a memorable hangout in Branson.

What is more reminiscent of the ’80s than an arcade filled with pixelated screens and teens hovering over the shoulders of champions? 1984 Branson Arcade offers the same classic games and doesn’t require the bag of quarters to play. With one entry fee, you will have access to their ’80s themed lounge and games from the ’70s all the way up to the occasional ’90s. The only activities that require quarters are pinball, air hockey, and prize machines. Challenge your friends to a game of Street Fighter and see if they still have what it takes to be a champion!

Experience the beauty and serenity of the Ozarks while sipping on handcrafted wines at Ozark Hills Winery. These exclusive wines are

not widely distributed, making a visit the perfect opportunity to enjoy a specialty tasting with friends and loved ones! Each tasting room, led by a knowledgeable guide, features a spacious bar where guests are invited to try six wines tailored to their taste palate. The Bootlegged Tasting Experience will take you to an exclusive lounge for a tasting of their Reserve Reds accompanied by amazing local history. You’ll even have the chance to create your own custom blend of their Firefly Reserve. Don’t forget to ask about the Ozark Hills Sip and Savor Charcuterie Tasting, whiskey tastings, wine and whiskey flights, and their beer collection to get a taste of that Ozark tradition!

Perfect for those wanting a one-of-a-kind experience without any laborious movement, the Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail at Top of the Rock is a beautiful golf cart tour that showcases the Ozark’s radiating beauty. On the two-and-a-half-mile ride, the trail will lead you to captivating landscape viewpoints, through the winding Lost Canyon Cave, past cascading waterfalls, and finally to the Bat Bar where refreshments are waiting. Attendees also receive free admission to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, making for a lovely time surrounded by history and nature.

Chooseyourown

Getting out on the lake isn’t ever as simple as throwing on a swimsuit and putting the boat key in the ignition. There are endless decisions, logistics, and even reservations to make before you ever hit the water. But don’t worry, that’s what you have the Explore Branson team for! Let us do the heavy lifting of asking questions and providing answers you may not have considered while at home booking your next trip to Table Rock Lake.

Have you driven a boat before, and do you have a boater's safety license?

If yes, great! You are already a pro! If you feel like dusting up on your skills before hitting the water, Missouri State Water Patrol is a great online resource for all things water safety.

If no, head to Missouri State Water Patrol’s website to take the course and get your Missouri Boater’s Safety License. Anyone born after January 1, 1984, will need this to operate a vessel on the water.

Are you renting a boat or bringing a personal boat from home?

If you’re bringing a personal boat, there are many public boat ramps available to use around the lake, such as Moonshine Beach or Table Rock State Park.

If renting, you can find rental boat marinas all around the lake. Most have gas docks and ship stores attached for anything you'd need out on the water.

Branson and Indian Point:

State Park Marina

Long Creek Marina Indian Point Marina

Kimberling City and Beyond:

Port of Kimberling Marina

Baxter Marina Campbell Point Marina

Tip: No matter what kind of boat you’re renting, make sure that you are taking sun exposure into consideration. Call the rental business ahead of time and ask if your boat has a bimini top for sun protection, especially if you have kids!

Do you want to stay in Branson/ Indian Point or Kimberling City?

Here are three resorts on the Branson/ Indian Point side:

• Chateau on the Lake

• Rock Lane Resort and Marina

• Still Waters Resort

Here are three resorts/hotels near the Kimberling City marinas:

• Port of Kimberling Resort

• Lazy Lee’s Resort

• Hideaway Resort

Are you wanting an adventurous day of cliff jumping and watersports, or more of a relaxing lake day?

Adventure: Keep in mind that you will need a boat with a little more “get up and go” for some watersports like waterskiing or wakeboarding. A ski/ runabout boat would be great for a group wanting to take turns cliff jumping or doing any sports.

Watersport equipment can be rented or purchased at most marinas. Be sure to also check out The Ski Shack and Williams Brother's Ski and Sports for lake gear, apparel, and more.

If a casual, sightseeing lake day is more your speed, a pontoon or tritoon would be the perfect vessel for you. Low and slow (by design), these boats have plenty of storage room and lots of seats to spread out.

Experiences:

Is your boat a mix of kids, parents, and families, or an older crowd of adults looking for nightlife?

Families, you’ve come to the right place. This is one of the cleanest lakes in the country taken care of by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Missouri State Water Patrol also has a huge presence on Table Rock. If you and your children run into water patrol, be sure to thank them for their service to our beautiful lake. You might even receive a free child’s t-shirt or sticker if the officer sees them with coast guard approved life vests on.

Kid-Free: Once the lake day has concluded and you’re looking for live music and a great atmosphere, look no further than Rock Lane’s Tiki Bar and Rock Island Grill. This fun hangout is on Indian Point, a close drive from Branson. Other great options like Buzzard Bar at Big Cedar, Big Buoys, and Goofy Goose are all ones to check out. Their website or Facebook page will have up-to-date live music schedules for the summer.

If you ever find yourself in an uncomfortable or potentially dangerous situation on Table Rock Lake, always remember that Water Patrol is there to help. Dial *55 for any questions, concerns, or if you run into problems on the water. There is also Tow Boat US and Sea Tow for boatfailure related issues.

Do you plan to fish while you’re on one of our three pristine lakes?

Anyone 16 years or older will need a Missouri fishing license to fish on Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, or Bull Shoals Lake. Visit the Missouri Department of Conservation website to purchase a day pass or annual pass.

Live bait can be purchased at most full-service marinas, as well as lures and other fishing gear.

Visit the Missouri Department of Conservation's website for more information about fishing regulations.

Have you considered hiring a fishing guide or captain?

Reserving a trip with a local fishing guide is the best way to experience an angler’s day on Table Rock Lake. These guides are fully licensed, insured, and are equipped with top quality gear and equipment.

Not interested in fishing, but you need a driver? Conveniently, most fishing guides double as a Boat Captain for rental boats! They will meet you at the marina of your choice and drive your group around the beautiful Table Rock Lake. All the scenery, even more fun, and no stress about getting around safely. What could possibly be better than that?

Are you a “We’ve got food on the boat!” group or a “Let’s eat on the water!” group?

Pack Food: A hearty sandwich and bag of chips is more my speed, too. Make sure to bring an anchor to find a nice, quiet location to eat and recharge before your day continues. Most coves on Table Rock are long and have lots of pockets, which makes finding the perfect secluded spot to eat an absolute breeze.

Eat on the water, you said? I’m in!

Most marinas have restaurants at their docks with courtesy stalls. Some of our favorites? Biscuits and gravy at the Floating Café, pizza at Portside Pizza, and fried chicken wings at Watson’s on the Water. Need I say more?

No Boat? No Problem!

Looking for a day of swimming without renting a boat? Moonshine Beach

Recreation Area is a very popular sandy swimming beach along the shores of Table Rock Lake.

Kayaks are available to rent at State Park Marina, as well as on Lake Taneycomo through Kayak Branson and White River Kayaking & Outdoors.

“Thank You for your service.”

In Branson, Missouri, these words are often heard accompanying a handshake and a warm smile. Here, the citizens frequently pause to notice a hat or a patch and say, “Thank you for your service.” And the best part? They genuinely mean it. Branson is rooted deeply in its commitment to honoring Veterans every single day and welcoming them with open arms to the Ozark Hills. As history would have it, this commitment to patriotism is a long-standing one.

With the inception of the annual Veterans Day Parade more than 90 years ago in 1932, Branson began its long history of appreciating and honoring Veterans. This value of patriotism has continued to develop over the years, passed down with each new generation and woven into the very fabric of Branson’s core.

Dubbed “America’s Most Patriotic City,” Branson has fought to maintain this legacy by honoring Veterans every day of the year.

From its daily tributes in the many live shows, to the numerous memorials and monuments throughout town, the mission carried out daily is to ensure each and every Veteran that passes through is welcomed in the way that they deserve.

Celebrating and honoring Veterans is not just something we talk about in Branson, it's something that happens every single day. And it's what makes Veterans like Mike want to return with their families to visit again and again.

On a mission of our own to discover influential Veterans who had served in more recent wars, we stumbled upon Mike & Coop on TikTok. This dynamic duo had a substantial following on their social media platforms, making videos about Mike’s experiences as a combat Veteran with PTSD and his life as a Veteran with his service dog, Coop. Mike, Coop, and his wife, Caitlin came to Branson on a

Veteran's Week | Veteran's Day Parade

whirlwind trip for Veterans week for the first time in 2023. When they arrived, we gave them a tour of Veterans Village, a space dedicated to hosting Veterans and their families at one of our ball parks. The area is set up with vendors, a mess hall, and even a Day room, all free to Veterans, and offers a place to connect with comrades. Mike was truly wowed with the level of patriotism and the number of Veterans gathered here during Veterans Week. From the opportunity to meet with Veterans from every branch, to getting to share stories with Veterans from different time periods and wars, Mike was enthralled with his experience.

From there, he experienced some of Branson’s live entertainment and visited the Dean Z show. He was surprised to see that the Veterans were honored even during the live music shows, something Branson shows do almost every single performance. Mike loved the opportunity to connect with more Veterans at the show. The next day, he traveled to the Veterans parade downtown, something Branson’s been doing for nearly 100 years. What Mike learned is that Branson holds true to its claim as “the most patriotic city in America.” What we learned is that there's still room to grow.

While Branson has long been a home to the Vietnam War-era Veterans, attracting a new audience of Veterans has proved to

Mike, Caitlin & Coop
|| MIKE HOWARD

be a little challenging for Branson. The younger Veterans and their families are an important group that deserve the same honor and welcome of the previous generations, but we recognize that doing so means doing things a little differently. In place of meeting rooms with coffee, snacks, and areas for conversation, we need to find projects they can actively participate in together or ways to give back to the community. While Veterans from Vietnam and older want to meet in November every year and spend a week full of ceremonies doing so, younger Vets don't have the luxury of time while juggling careers and families, and prefer the long weekends instead. The good news? Branson is still perfectly positioned for this new mission.

With over 100 live shows, more than 50 attractions, award-winning theme parks,

and beautiful outdoor scenery, Branson is perfectly designed to entertain families with kids of all ages and people from all backgrounds. Founded on the values of Faith, Family, Flag, and Fun, Branson is a beacon in a world full of busyness and distraction. This is a place where families can come together in meaningful ways and comrades can reunite with fun in the foreground. Leaning into our connections with younger Veterans like Mike, Branson is blazing a new trail forward and planning with this new generation in mind.

The first steps toward the future for Veterans in Branson start with collaboration. In July of 2024, two new task force groups emerged locally: The Young Veterans Coalition and Operation Unity. Both groups have the goal in mind of creating events and services that will entice and enhance experiences Veterans

|

| TinyURL.com/3h52btew

can have in Branson. The Young Veterans Coalition is a group comprised of young Veterans (those who served in Desert Storm or sooner) who meet to plan events for Veterans like themselves. Operation Unity is a group formed by members of every other Veterans organization in the Branson area and serves as a place where they can work collaboratively to meet the needs of both local and visiting Veterans. By streamlining efforts and leaning into joined resources, Operation Unity serves as a way forward in Veterans events and services coming to fruition in the area.

This level of collaboration was born out of a need to continue to pass the torch of patriotism while understanding that times are changing. In fact, a new kind of event is taking shape in Branson that honors and respects service members while offering a truly unique, fun, and inviting experience for younger Veterans and their families. In true Branson fashion, the community has come together to identify a need and work to meet it collectively. May has been designated as the new Military Appreciation Month, featuring a series of events geared towards this new generation of Veterans,

culminating with the highly anticipated Rally Point Branson Memorial Day Weekend event happening in 2025. In addition, the Blue Angels will be hosting an air show event over Labor Day Weekend in 2025, drawing Veterans and Active-Duty members to Branson to enjoy time with their families.

While we can't say for certain what the future holds, we know that in Branson, it will always hold a place for Veterans to be honored and respected. Every smile on a visiting child’s face, every thrillfilled laugh on a roller coaster, and every standing ovation at a live performance

always remain grateful for the freedoms we get to enjoy and share with our visitors. We invite you to come and experience that gratitude in person and be a part of what makes Branson “America’s Most Patriotic City.” With your help, generations to come will continue this legacy of freedom on which we stand.
