DATE SELECTION FOR YOUR BRANSON GROUP TOUR
Branson has truly become a year-round destination, offering something special in every season. Selecting the right dates for your group can enhance your experience, whether you are planning a bus group, student trip, family or military reunion, or performance group outing. Thoughtful date selection can also maximize your budget and event value. Here are some tips and recommendations for selecting the best time to visit Branson:
Plan weekday trips to take advantage of better availability and more favorable rates.
WINTER
(JANUARY – FEBRUARY)
Be aware of national holidays when demand is typically higher.
While traditionally quieter, January and February are emerging as exciting months for group travel. Many attractions and shows remain open into early January, welcoming visitors into the New Year. Plus, Branson now boasts a variety of indoor venues and experiences that are available year-round. For a detailed look at winter group options, check out the article, “Winter Group Tour Options in Branson,” on ExploreBranson.com.
SPRING
(MARCH - MAY)
Tourism kicks off in March with Spring Break and the arrival of student and performance groups. This is an exciting time as most theaters and attractions debut their new season in early to mid-March. As spring progresses, April and May offer a perfect blend of favorable room rates, stunning Ozark scenery, and blooming dogwood trees, making spring an ideal time to visit.
Branson is proud to support our active duty and retired military personnel all year round, especially during Military Appreciation Month in May. Join us Memorial Day Weekend for Rally Point Branson, where we welcome Veterans and their families to enjoy a fun weekend of game tournaments, live entertainment, food trucks, and more!
SUMMER
(JUNE – AUGUST)
The summer season is bustling with energy, perfect for family reunions, motorcoach tours, and large group trips. Escape the heat with indoor shows, splash down at a waterpark, or enjoy Branson’s many outdoor adventures. And if you are visiting over the 4th of July, enjoy a patriotic show on the Landing complete with live music and showstopping fireworks.
Try not to “split the weekend” by checking in or out on a Saturday, as this can limit availability and increase costs.
FALL
(SEPTEMBER – OCTOBER)
September and October are quickly becoming signature months for group travel. The fall season brings a variety of vibrant festivals and activities, from pumpkin patches and harvest celebrations to arts and crafts fairs, making it a spectacular time to visit. The breathtaking fall foliage, which begins around mid-October, adds to the beauty of the Ozarks. October, in particular, has become one of Branson’s fastest-growing seasons for group tours.
Veterans Week in November is a special event here in Branson. Our community takes great pride in honoring the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s military. This highly anticipated event brings the community together for a week of tributes, parades, live entertainment, and touching ceremonies. For more information on how Branson honors Veterans, please visit ExploreBranson.com/veterans.
OZARK MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS (NOVEMBER – DECEMBER)
No one does Christmas quite like Branson. Here, our “Ozark Mountain Christmas” starts on November 1st. Experience the magic with miles of dazzling lights, festive performances, and heartwarming experiences around every corner. As this is a peak season, we recommend booking hotel rooms and show tickets at least one year in advance to secure your preferred accommodations and experiences.
No matter when you visit, Branson offers incredible experiences, memorable moments, and warm hospitality all year long. Start planning your perfect group tour today!

MAKE SOME WAVES: A BOATING GUIDE FOR VISITORS
Branson is known for a lot of things, one of the biggest being our lakes! Branson has three lakes – Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals Lake – all that make the perfect backdrop for some outdoor fun! Whether you are new to boating or a seasoned captain, here is everything you need to know for a day on the lake.
First, Choose Your Lake:
Table Rock Lake: This lake is a favorite for boating, water sports, or relaxing in coves.
Lake Taneycomo: This is a cold-water lake, ideal for fishing or a slow, scenic ride.
Bull Shoals Lake: This lake is perfect for water sports or fishing as it typically has low boating traffic and wide channels.
Where to Rent a Boat:
You want to enjoy a day on the lake, but you don’t have a boat. That is no problem! There are plenty of marinas that offer boat rentals that suit every need:

How to Rent a Boat:
Renting a boat is easy! Here is what you should know:
Choose your Boat: Options can range from familyfriendly pontoons to sleek ski boats for water sports. Be sure to select the boat that matches the activities you plan to do.
Reservation: You will want to book your boat in advance, especially in the busy summer months. Most marinas offer online reservations, but it doesn’t hurt to give them a call.
Requirements:
• Renter must be at least 18 - 21 years old (depending on the marina)
• A valid driver’s license is typically required
• A Missouri Boater Safety Card is needed if you were born after January 1, 1984. If you do not have a safety card, you can take an online course through Missouri State Highway Patrol to obtain one.
Orientation: The marina staff will give you a safety orientation and explain how to operate the boat. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Tips for a Fun and Safe Day
Ensure there are enough life jackets for all passengers. Typically this is provided by the marina.
Read and understand boat safety tips. These rules and regulations can be found online, or you may ask the marina for more information.
Familiarize yourself with the lake map to avoid shallow areas and respect no-wake zones.
Do not forget the boat day essentials such as sunscreen, water, snacks, towels, etc. If you forget any of these, the marina will typically have some for purchase.
If you plan to fish, you will need to obtain a Missouri Fishing License. This can be purchased online.
