Following extensive redevelopment, a new custom designed commercial vehicle facility has been built at 55 Kirkham Road West, Dandenong. This Sales, Service & Parts outlet is the new headquarters for Western Star and MAN truck sales and will also be the main servicing centre for all our truck brands (Isuzu, Western Star, MAN) and Isuzu D-Max Ute.
T RUCK CEN T RE
This new building is located at the rear of the existing Patterson Cheney Isuzu outlet in Cheltenham Road Dandenong, so both facilities are within close proximity of each other.
The new Servicing facility features 28 service bays fitted with the latest diagnostic and service equipment to ensure we get your truck serviced in the quickest possible time. A new parts warehouse is part of the redevelopment and has allowed us to greatly increase our parts display area. Both facilities will be known collectively as Patterson Cheney Trucks – so whether you’re shopping for a heavy, medium or light truck or a Ute you’ll find it all at Patterson Cheney Trucks.

Isuzu’s cleanest ever truck range launched along with six new models Isuzu’s new Euro V-compliant truck range has now been introduced to the Australian market. These are Isuzu’s cleanest trucks ever, and among the most environmentally friendly of any make on Australian roads.
Isuzu was one of the first manufacturers to introduce ADR80/03-compliant trucks to the Australian market with the launch of its FX and Giga Series in April 2008 and its compressed natural gas (CNG) range in May 2009.
offered in crew cab configuration for the first time.
The transition to ADR80/03 and the Euro V emissions benchmark for Isuzu N & F Series was relatively straightforward thanks to Isuzu’s engine technology and the diesel particulate diffuser (DPD) exhaust after treatment system that has been progressively refined to suit Australian conditions over the past three years.
Further bolstering the safety credentials of the new Isuzu light duty range is adherence to stringent ECE-29 regulation cabin strength standards.
Isuzu’s N & F Series required only minor modifications to achieve the blanket Euro V and ADR80/03 rating including the continuation of fitment of a DPD, revised Engine Control Module (ECM) software, improved Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) coolers and higher injection pressure.

Isuzu’s engineering team has continued its work to provide safer cabins and this has resulted in the fitting of passenger airbags as standard on all new N Series models.
Other benefits include the introduction of a standard fluorescent cabin light in N Series trucks, and the adoption of taper leaf front springs (NPR 250/300/400 and NQR 450 models) for a smoother ride with up to 30 per cent greater load capacity. The F Series has also received several upgrades in its transition to a Euro V rating. A GVM increase on the FTS 800 from 13,500kg to 13,900kg across all applications improves its ability to haul heavier loads.
In addition to the impressive ‘green’ credentials of the new range, which includes four carryover compressed natural gas (CNG) models, Isuzu has introduced six new truck models to give buyers even greater choice across the N and F Series.
There’s now an even greater selection of trucks available in the F Series range with the introduction of three new models. The new FSR X-Long offers a massive 6500mm wheelbase – an additional 940mm over its FSR Long counterpart. Also new to the range is the single cab FTR 900 MediumLong and the FVR 1000 Auto.
Two new tipper models (NLS 200, NLR 275) have been added to the N Series range, while the NLS 200 is now also being
A number of running improvements have also been made to Isuzu’s heavy weight segment FX and Giga range of models.

‘Every state, every day is a motto we use’ said Blair. ‘When a client requires goods interstate the next day, at short notice, Region Peak can deliver – we’re renowned for our overnight service.’
Service the key to Region Peak’s success Region Peak was started by Brian and Janene Harper in 1990 with a single truck making deliveries around metropolitan Melbourne. Today, Region Peak comprises a fleet of 35 linehaul and local PUD vehicles providing daily service to Australia’s major cities. With continued investment in people and infrastructure, Region Peak provides daily solutions from industry leading and stand alone facilities located in Melbourne (Head Office), Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. The company specialises in transporting time sensitive palletised freight – with a large component of the business related to food grade products and associated warehousing requirements. All depots are certified ‘food grade’ and meet all necessary food quality transit standards. ‘The one thing that differentiates our business model from others is the quality and efficiency of our service – that’s the key strength of our business,’ says Region Peak’s CEO Blair McClintock. Evidence of Region Peak’s superior service levels can be found within the large number of ‘long term’ customers from a diverse range of industries. ‘We’re into building relationships with our clients. A win-win situation really is the best outcome for all concerned. By continually meeting required lead times, we become

part of a client’s sales team. As a result, market pressure is eased and growth is achieved!’ Blair went onto say. ‘Every state, every day is a motto we use’ said Blair. ‘When a client requires goods interstate the next day, at short notice, Region Peak can deliver – we’re renowned for our overnight service.’ Region Peak provides a total logistics solution and embraces new trends such as ‘end to end’ shipping, warehousing and logistics at a global level. Through an integrated approach to a client’s individual requirement, Region Peak claims the title of providing ‘distribution solutions.’ The company’s relationship building philosophy extends to suppliers, including Westar. Blair recounts how a Westar sales consultant continued to ‘knock the door down’, and how his persistence impressed them. When the time came to purchase new trucks, it was a key reason why Westar was chosen as the preferred supplier. The first Western Star was purchased in 2008. The company now has 5 in total working designated legs across Australia. ‘Brian Harper is a big fan of the legendary Series 60 Detroit Engine. All equipment enters the fleet to strict specifications,’ said Blair.
‘The Western Stars have truly won us over. They’re tough, reliable and more importantly, provide our drivers with a safe and comfortable work environment.’ said Blair. ‘In fact, a key condition within the tender process was to supply a product capable of attracting and retaining professional drivers – the drivers hold them in high regard,’ Blair went onto say. ‘We’re loyal to our suppliers. From this, we insist on the highest levels of after sales service and support. Whether at the Derrimut or Campbellfield location, that’s exactly what we get from Westar, and why we continue to deal with them – sales, parts or service, they’re all great to work with,’ Blair added. The commitment Region Peak has with Westar is reflected in the fact that preferred trucks for the company are just two brands – Western Star for the Prime Movers and Isuzu for the local PUD fleet. ‘The business now has four FVL 1400’s within the fleet. Like the Stars, they are performing superbly and have vindicated the decision to buy new,’ says Blair.
Both owners, Brian and Janene Harper remain active within the business on a daily basis. ‘Brian still does what he loves doing best – driving a truck every day and staying in close contact with his customers.’ said Blair. ‘More importantly, Brian and Janene have a firm commitment to the professional development of staff, and view them as part of an extended family.’ Evidence of the ‘family’ culture within Region Peak can be found on each of the new Western Stars. ‘They’re all named after family, and they all have meaning,’ Blair recalls. In particular, the 2008 Western Star is held very close to all within the business. It is named ‘IN MEMORY’ as a mark of respect and gratitude to the Harper family’s long term friend and employee, Edward John Hamilton (Uncle Ted/Fat Boy/Brother Trucker), who sadly passed away in January, 2008. A further memorial provided by Royans Wagga hangs proudly within the company’s Corporate Office. contact: T: (03) 9464 6456. E: regionpeak@regionpeak.com.au W: www.regionpeak.com.au
