INTRODUCTION
From the Executive Director
O
n March 12, we hosted over 200 business leaders during our annual Community Awards Banquet. During this hour lunch, we recognized and drew attention to seven leaders in our community. These individuals and their businesses are the backbone of our economy! Through their struggles and accomplishments, we are blessed with a great community to call home as well as do our business. Next, we are launching a new program to address the problem of workforce retention. Talent Recruitment and Attainment is a strategic priority of the Lander Chamber of Commerce. We recognize that our area has educated many qualified individuals who have furthered their education. We also have many high-quality jobs available. We want to offer and encourage college graduates to look at making the Lander area their home. And so, we are introducing the Lander Homecoming Grant, a grant for up to $6,000 to help our youth return to the Lander area workforce in good style! Also, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the 2019 Lander LIVE music lineup! Each year we raise the bar, but this year we did a big lift with recruiting some of the industry’s biggest names. Also, don’t forget the Fremont Toyota Lander Brewfest is right around the corner on June 7 and 8. Finally, Spring is here and it’s the perfect time to start thinking about improving your storefront appearance with some seasonal flowers! Each year we coordinate the Lander Flower Barrel Program, a collaboration with Sprout’s Greenhouse. This year our partner Sprout’s will be prestarting the barrels, so when they arrive, they are going to be full and ready to make a splash at your place of business! To sign up, complete the enclosed form, or call the chamber, and we’ll make sure that your flowers show up just in time for the summer rush of visitors and tourists.
