From the Executive Director
H
appy New Year! (For those of a certain age, you know this is coming: “And this is 2020.”)
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Michelle Mazur, President
As we enter the new year, I’m delighted to announce the members of the Chamber’s new Executive Committee: Michelle Mazur of Elevate Rehab will serve as President, Jonathan Tonkowich of Wyoming Catholic College will be our Vice President, and our new Treasurer will be Eric Andrews of Fagnant, Lewis & Brinda. I also offer my sincere thanks to our outgoing president, Susan Weideman of Lander Vision Center, and treasurer, Joanne Slingerland of Central Wyoming College. While Joanne will continue to serve on the board, Susan will be stepping away after serving for just shy of eight years. When you see Susan out and about, please be sure to join me in thanking her for her selfless service to the Chamber and to the Lander business community. With these new changes as well as a few departures, the Chamber is looking for two new members to serve on our board of directors. Having just completed our annual retreat, 2020 is looking to be a year of transformation for the Chamber as we work to better align our benefits and programs around the issues of concern to our members and the wider Lander community. I earnestly invite you to consider offering your time and talents to our board. If you are interested, please send your letter of inquiry directly to me at owen@landerchamber.org. Be sure to submit your nominations (see page 5) for our 2019 Community Awards Luncheon, scheduled for Friday, February 21st at the Lander Community & Convention Center. Mark your calendar and plan to join your fellow Landerites as we honor both businesses and individuals who have made notable contributions to our community.

by Jill Kline, State Director Wyoming Small Business Development Center Network For a state with a small population, resources for Wyoming entrepreneurs are abundant. However, the question from business owners in all stages of their life cycle is often, “That’s great. But where do I start?” The answer is an easy one: start right here with the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network.
