LEVEL MEMBERS!
Are you looking for ways to contribute your time and talent to promoting Lander and its businesses? To strengthening the regional economy? To representing the interests of the business community in front of government? Consider yourself invited to apply for membership on one of our committees or on our board of directors.
Although the Chamber employs professional staff, much of the work of a chamber of commerce is performed by volunteer committees, including its board of directors In essence, committees or task forces are groups of chamber members engaged in the work of community leadership
The Chamber currently has openings on our board of directors and three of our committees, which are structured around our program of work
Our Business Retention & Workforce Development Committee works together with our Programs & Events Committee to better align our event offerings with our efforts to support and develop our members’ businesses We want to provides tools and resources for businesses to stay, grow, and thrive in Lander
Our Destination Lander Committee focuses on our area’s robust tourism and hospitality sector Members work to develop Lander as a destination and administer Tourism Asset Development (TAD) funds provided by the lodging tax, including the oversight of TAD grantmaking
Our Government Affairs Committee seeks to adopt public policy positions that speak, where feasible, with the unified voice of our business community
If you would like to serve on our board of directors or on one of our committees, please send a letter of interest to Chamber board members

The Lander Chamber is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as its PROGRAM & EVENT COORDINATOR. Compensation will be based upon experience and paid at $40,000+ annually for qualified candidates. A yearly bonus can be earned based upon performance, and the Chamber provides a monthly health care stipend to full time employees. The opportunity for professional development and certification with the Institute for Organization Management is possible for employees who demonstrate above average performance.
You will be responsible for coordinating, planning, marketing, and executing the Chamber’s programs and annual and monthly events, including, but not limited to:

THE FIVE NON-NEGOTIABLES OF THIS ROLE ARE:
You can manage a project from conception to completion. A large part of this role is creating and adhering to work plans and deadlines, drafting budgets, and moving simultaneous projects forward to completion.
You can write and speak well. You’ll be creating social media ads and posts, announcements, ads, news stories, and blog posts across various media. You’ll be appearing on local radio and podcasts. You’ll be executing contracts with vendors, suppliers, and musical performers. Clear and concise communication skills are an absolute must, and we will expect to see samples of your previous work. You’re tech-savvy. You must be comfortable with technology and able to learn quickly how to use new tools and technologies. While we don’t expect you to be familiar with all of the tools we use, we do expect you to be comfortable with them and able to pick up the concepts. You don’t need a babysitter. Often, it will be your job to determine what needs to happen, when, and how. While your questions seeking clarification are expected and encouraged, the attitude of continually starting things on your own is very important. You play well with others. There is no place here for know-it-alls. Your attitude will play a large role in whether you are hired and whether you are retained.
Email your résumé and cover letter in pdf format to director@landerchamber.org. Your letter should explain why you want to work for the Lander Chamber of Commerce and what interests you about this particular role. Apply by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2023.

The remaining meeting is scheduled for October 12. Information on how to watch and participate in this hearing is available by clicking on the previous link.
