Q - You moved your event in Scottsdale from January to late March, what was the motivation for that decision?
A - “While every indication showed that our bidders, consignors and sponsors were behind our efforts to hold our auction next month, we decided it would be prudent at this time to safeguard everyone’s health,” said Craig Jackson chairman and CEO of BarrettJackson. “We determined that moving our event to March 2021 seemed like the right thing to do to avoid the coronavirus spike that is currently being predicted. We appreciate the support we have received from the City of Scottsdale and State of Arizona regarding this decision. We were widely praised for the safety protocols we put in place for our recent Fall Auction, and we want to be able to provide customers and fans the same safe environQ - Art of the Cowgirl canceled their event at Horseshoe Park, did any other major events cancel due to Covid? A - Is the Art of the Cowgirl 2021 Canceled? From the Art of the Cowgirl website- No, we are not canceling our event. As we navigate the changing requirements, mandates, and responsibilities to move forward with our event, taking all things into consideration, we made the difficult decision to postpone parts of our event. We will be postponing the Master and Clinician Demonstrations, Tradeshow, Music, and Workshops. We will still hold the World’s Greatest Horsewoman Competition, Ranch Rodeo, and Horse Sale January 13th16th as planned at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre in Queen Creek, Arizona. The board felt it had an obligation to the contestants, stock contractor, sponsors, vendors and contract personnel to make a decision now rather than wait until the last minute. Planning is already underway for Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek 2020, which will be held March 16-20, 2022. During the coming year, Friends of Horseshoe Park and the Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek committee will be exploring alternatives to continue their presence in the community, in person and over social media. Q -Are spectators going to be allowed at Sun Circuit? A -Yes Q - Will exhibitors be required to wear masks when showing? A - Not while showing or horseback. At all other times while on the West World grounds. Q - Will there be vendors at the show? A - Yes Q - What safety measures will be in place to protect the exhibitors from each other? A - Mask, social distancing, hand wash stations and specific food service areas. Q -If someone appears to show typical signs of Covid at the show what is management going to do? Q- They will be required to leave the show grounds immediately. No one showing symptoms of Covid should enter the show grounds. the Town of Queen Creek at various virtual, community and state events. They also will continue to partner with Arizona Farm Bureau’s Ag In The Classroom program to bring virtual rodeo presentations to local schools. In spite of this cancellation, Roots N’ Boots will be releasing its second issue of the AgTivity Book in March.
