The 2021 American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame Induction and Reunion Celebration is coming home to the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Foundation’s headquarters in Amarillo, Texas. The celebration is slated for Friday and Saturday, August 13-14. Through a multi-day celebration, rich with events honoring previous and current inductees, the occasion will center on the memories of the people and horses who blazed the trail in our industry and the long-steeped history of the American Quarter Horse.

During this memorable celebration, the American Quarter Horse family will honor inductees through moving video tributes and acceptance speeches and dedication of inductee exhibits, giving everyone the chance to reflect on the impact the inductees have had on the American Quarter Horse industry. Induction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame is the highest industry honor that can be bestowed upon a human or equine. Those chosen for induction are recognized for their lifetime of accomplishments and service. Ticket information and a full schedule of events will be released at a later date. Hall of Fame Classes of 2020 and 2021 - Six horses and five AQHA members were selected for induction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame as part of the Classes of 2020 and 2021. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Hall of Fame Induction was postponed to protect the health and safety of the inductees, their friends and family, and event staff. The horses are A Good Machine, a 1993 bay stallion; Dual Rey, a 1994 sorrel stallion; Esters Little Klu, a 1968 gray Thoroughbred mare; Mr Eye Opener, a 1990 gray stallion; Triple’s Image, a 1969 sorrel stallion; and Zan Parr Jack, a 1979 sorrel stallion. The individuals are AQHA Professional Horseman Bob Avila of Scottsdale, Arizona; racehorse trainer C. Dwayne “Sleepy” Gilbreath of Dennis, Texas; the late Past Executive Committee Member George Phillips of Jackson, Mississippi; AQHA Past President Johnny Trotter of Hereford, Texas; and AQHA Past President Dr. Glenn Blodgett of Guthrie, Texas. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum fulfills the Foundation’s mission by beautifully showcasing the hundreds of horses and people who have earned the distinction of becoming part of the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame. These inductees are chosen each year by a selection committee and inducted into the Hall of Fame during the annual Hall of Fame Induction.
