Innovative Fashion
Over the years, fashion has emerged beyond essential functions as a creative medium, allowing us to express ourselves uniquely. However, with this progress, the fashion industry has also become the source of many global problems leading to unsustainability, instability and inequity. What if we could use fashion as a powerful instrument to bring a positive change? How can we design sustainable, culturally diverse and inclusive fashion? Join us in this challenge to discover many ways to innovate fashion. Design actuated garments and accessories that change form. Combine craft and tech and create textiles with new behaviors. Discover etextiles, biofabrication, hybrid-body craft and more to reframe the fashion industry, making it more creative, more ethical and more conscious.

Inspiration Maker This year Brilliant Labs is looking for those teachers who inspire others to be their best and who are taking chances to try new things to educate students. We're pleased to share this New Brunswick's "Inspiration Maker!" WHO: MARIE-PIERRE PAGE ET HENRI POITRAS WHERE: ÉCOLE GRANDE RIVIÈRE Henri and Marie-Pierre have been working together to co-teach open classes. The students choose special projects that often come from a problem they have noticed in their community and would like to improve. To name a few, bioplastic bracelet making, student radio, bat houses, 3d printing etc... This year they decided to create a haunted house as part of our circular manufacturing innovation challenge where each student was responsible for a section. Far from lacking in ideas and open to anything that the students bring as a project. Ms. Page and Mr. Poitras are inspiring teachers who never stop innovating. If you have the chance to visit their classroom.
Project Highlight Every Wednesday, Saint-Basile Regional School gives students the chance to experience education in a different way by offering different types of exploration. One of these activities is programming and creation, using cardboard and micro:bits. All students in grades 3 to 5 learn programming. Here are a few examples of the projects.
