We are thrilled to announce our next speaker series session with André Gallant and Nicolas Déziel. This session will cover the following five different types of intellectual property (IP) rights: trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets and patents. From protecting your business name, logo or slogan to the information on your business website or secret internal information, to other ideas, artistic creations, inventions and innovations, IP rights are very important This session is offered by Canadian Intellectual Property Office. This session is most relevant for Grade 6 and above

We would like to thank Kentville Recreation for hosting our pop up Mini Makerspace sessions this March break! We had a great time running multiple maker stations and inspiring young makers We look forward to our partnership with the Town of Kentville for afterschool and summer activities
Project Highlight
Marble runs are a great way to practice prototyping skills! Using cardboard, makedo’s or reusable PVC electrical conduit piping and couplers, students can make and remake collaborative designs Students can practice their problem-solving skills and study friction and gravity Exploring this engineering challenge using the design thinking process is a fun project for all ages

This year Brilliant Labs is looking for those teachers who inspire others to be their best and who are taking chances to try new things to educate students We're pleased to share this Nova Scotia's "Inspiration Maker!"
WHO: ELLIS BRYAN CLAYTON
We would like to introduce our new Kings County mentor Ellis BrianClayton. Ellis is currently studying at NSCC and will be helping us facilitate after-school programming and summer maker sessions. Ellis brings his experience in outdoor education and an interest in hands-on making using natural materials as well as robotics Originally from Wolfville, Ellis has returned to the valley after living on the West Coast. His latest project working on his own off-grid home with his partner As an avid maker with brilliant project ideas, Ellis makes a great addition to the BL team!
