We are thrilled to announce our next speaker series session with André Gallant and Nicolas Déziel. This session will cover the following five different types of intellectual property (IP) rights: trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets and patents. From protecting your business name, logo or slogan to the information on your business website or secret internal information, to other ideas, artistic creations, inventions and innovations, IP rights are very important This session is offered by Canadian Intellectual Property Office. This session is most relevant for Grade 6 and above

Innovative Fashion
Join us in this challenge to discover many ways to innovate fashion. We will introduce ways to make fashion projects with responsive materials that augment the sensory and functional capabilities of the bodies Discover e-textiles, biofabrication, hybrid-body craft and more to reframe the fashion industry, making it more creative, more ethical and more conscious.

Project Highlight
Cardigan Consolidated School is looking at responsible consumption, ways to reduce waste and recycle Paper is a frequently used material in schools, with many pages being thrown out each day In order to be more environmentally friendly and less wasteful, students made their own paper using recycled paper and mushrooms. This is just one of many exciting projects the students will be working on in their after school program.
Inspiration Maker Mentors
This year Brilliant Labs is looking for those teachers who inspire others to be their best and who are taking chances to try new things to educate students. We're pleased to share this Nova Scotia's "Inspiration Maker!"
WHO: MARCUS GAUTHIER & GEORGIA GREGORY
We would like to introduce our new Charlottetown PE mentors Marcus & Georgia. Both mentors are currently studying at UPEI and will be helping us facilitate after-school programming and summer maker sessions. Marcus’s experience as a Biology major with a minor in biomedical physics has been a great addition to the team He enjoys working with children and inspiring them with his biology knowledge. Georgia has a passion for teaching and her experience as a substitute teacher helps her lead and connect with all types of students She is pursuing a career in education and the experiences she will have with Brilliant Labs will help her become an amazing teacher Both mentors have taken a huge interest in the biomaking activities, we are very excited to see what they plan next
