ALPACA AND LLAMA EXPERIENCES

ALPACA AND LLAMA EXPERIENCES They may be cute, they may be furry, but can you tell the difference between an alpaca and a llama? It’s a little tricky at first, but once you spend time with these adorable creatures you will find there are quite distinct differences.

Ottaba Llamas

14 www.brisbanekids.com.au

ALPACA AND LLAMA EXPERIENCES

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ALPACAS AND LLAMAS? •

Llamas have large, banana-shaped ears, while alpacas have short ears.

The face of a llama is longer than that of an alpaca, which is quite short and blunt.

Llamas grow larger and taller than alpacas.

Alpacas generally have shaggy fleece, which is much finer than the llama’s fleece, which is more coarse.
