BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC

Steve Lamacq, Presenter on BBC Radio 6Music and host of the BBC Radio 6Music showcase at SXSW “BBC Radio 6Music is a station aimed at music fans who love falling in love with music: whether its nuggets from the past they’ve never heard before, or crucially, any number of the new artists we’ve supported from the ground up. It’s a home for all kinds of music from post-punk to new jazz, from pulsing electronica to riff-laden, left-of-centre rock. In the recent past we’ve been the fi rst national station to play the likes of Idles and Fontaines DC, while also championing acts such as Slowthai, Little Simz, Jon Hopkins and black midi. Last year the 6Music showcase featured Squid, The Blinders and Novelist among others. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve got this year.”

BPI

Steve Lamacq and the BBC have an unrivalled track record in supporting new UK talent and looking at this year’s line up that looks set to continue.
