T
he year was again interrupted and most events couldn’t take place. Once again we held a virtual show, with our 50th Anniversary dinner being the highlight of the year. The following is a snapshot of some of the 2021 highlights:
FEBRUARY 2021 STIRLING SALE Held under the ongoing Covid restrictions , with no pre-sale show. Pistyll Kingsman, sired by Woodhall Ferrari, from GA & HM Francis, Carmarthen, sold for the sales top price of 26,000gns, selling to Richard McCulloch.
MAY STIRLING SALE The October 2019 born Denizes Knockout sired by Blackford Galaxy from Michael Barlow, Lancashire took the top sale price of 9500gns at the May Sale. Two bulls made 8000gns. The first of these was Roma Kinetic 19 from Roy Weatherup, Sired by Islavale Frontier, and is out of the Dinton Nautical daughter Roma Nina’s Fancy. Also at 8000gns, from Richard McCulloch was Overhill House King Henry 19. This December 2019 born bull, is by Islavale Heston 16. The May Sale saw another record average set for the fixture with 21 bulls selling to average £5345, up by £510 on the year. The clearance rate through the ring was 81%. Roma Kinetic
Leading prices from Scottish club members were; The second top price for the sale was 15,000gns for Backmuir Kraken 19 from Reece & Andrew Simmers, Selling to A. Bulmer, Yorkshire. At 11,500gns was Islavale Kacy 19 from Mr WS Stronach. At 11,000gns was Drumsleed Kingsman 19 from Mr Gerald and Morag Smith. The final five figure bull was the 10,000gns paid for Blackford Kirk 19 from Billy and Anne Macpherson. Islavale Kacy
SCOTTISH SIMMENTAL CLUB 2021 ‘VIRTUAL’ SHOW Once again we held our virtual show with their being no shows in Scotland again this year, once again we received an excellent entry in all classes, with The Backmuir herd coming out on top with Backmuir King as overall champion, and Jim and Patricia Goldie reserve with Newbiemains Iris.
