October 4, 2014 Dear Friends: We are thrilled to once again return to beautiful New Hope and the historic Bucks County Playhouse for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ third edition of Bucks County Cabaret. You continue to graciously open your hearts to us and we are overjoyed to have such deep roots now in this generous community. We’ve discovered here in Bucks County an uncommon and authentic sense of caring and compassion and a tremendous, deep commitment to supporting HIV/AIDS causes. As you know, Broadway Cares produces benefit performances of every variety, from big Broadway performances to intimate classical music concerts, dance festivals to a modern-day burlesque show. And, once in a while, we come upon an event with a group of supporters and volunteers so passionate about our cause and so willing to step forward to help. Without hesitation the Bucks County Cabaret committee has again eagerly stepped up to do whatever needed to be done. What’s especially remarkable is that we continue to find that this generosity of spirit isn’t limited to the committee. It flows through the community. The money raised tonight will help so many here in Bucks County, across Pennsylvania and all around the country with lifesaving medication and health care, counseling, healthy meals, emergency financial assistance and so much more. We hope you have a spectacular time tonight and enjoy this special evening with the remarkable Linda Eder. We also hope you feel proud that – once again – the community of Bucks County has made a difference for those battling HIV/AIDS. At Broadway Cares, we have a phrase that is repeated quite often, which on evenings like tonight resonate very true for me: “What we do together makes a difference.” Indeed, it will. Sincerely,

Tom Viola Executive Director

L INDA E DE R Showcasing one of the greatest contemporary voices of our time, Linda Eder’s diverse repertoire spans Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz. As the tragic character “Lucy” in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, from composer Frank Wildhorn, Eder blew the roof off of New York’s Plymouth Theatre each night as she belted out signature songs “Someone Like You” and “A New Life.” Her Broadway debut, for which she earned a Drama Desk nomination, sent her already rapidly rising star blazing across the sky, securing her spot as one of America’s most beloved singers and dynamic live performers. In October 2013, Linda released Christmas Where You Are, the follow-up to her best-selling and critically acclaimed Christmas Stays the Same. The CD features 12 tracks, including six selected by fans on social media and two originals from Eder. It also features a unique twist on the classic “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Eder re-wrote the song and performs with her teenage son, Jake, to represent a classic mother-son debate over going outside to play in a snow storm. Born in Tucson, AZ, and raised in Brainerd, MN, Eder began her career singing in her home state and eventually landed a gig at Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City. But it was her appearances on the 1987 season of Star Search, where she won for an unprecedented 12 weeks, that attracted the attention of audiences and record companies alike. Eder launched her recording career in 1991 with her self-titled debut album. She soon established a vital niche as America’s most popular and acclaimed new interpreter of pop standards and theatrical songs with 15 solo albums and 12 musical recordings. Those albums highlight Eder’s abundant vocal gifts as well as her skill for delivering dramatic, emotionally resonant interpretations of familiar songs while making them her own. She followed up with The Other Side of Me, a country pop blend of contemporary music, including a song written by Eder. And in June 2010, Eder and Clay Aiken covered Roy Orbison’s “Crying” as a duet on Aiken’s album Tried & True. The concert stage remains the mainstay of Eder’s career. She has performed for sold-out crowds in venues across the country and throughout Europe, appearing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall, Wolftrap and the Ravinia Festival. Always touring in good company, her collaborations include the late Oscar-winning composer and pianist Marvin Hamlisch, Tony winner Michael Feinstein and Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra. lindaeder.com
