Lynn Waterfront Open Space Master Plan Lynn, maUrban waterfront and former industrial sites offer both complex challenges and unique opportunities for future public use. By working with our project teams and local communities, we assess existing site conditions, identify constraints, and help inspire and plan for the future potential of the site. We assist community groups, municipalities, and land owners with reimagining their site’s potential by navigating intricate permitting requirements, developing creative responses to climate change, and designing thoughtful solutions to complex problems.

We work closely with local stakeholders to design new or redesign existing recreational spaces and develop park systems that are appropriate to each location and accessible for all. We include art, fountains, water-play, performance spaces, flexibly designed areas, and ongoing programming to keep these public spaces active and vibrant.

Understanding the needs of students, administrators, staff, and visitors is critical when designing new or upgrading existing campus facilities. We understand the need for durable, maintainable and iconic landscapes, lighting for site design and security, wayfinding systems to help people navigate large areas, and the importance of dynamic outdoor spaces.
Brown, Richardson + Rowe welcomes the challenges of landscape preservation, whether it is the adaptive re-use of historic properties, the rehabilitation of historic parks or town squares or the restoration of cultural landscapes. By following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for the Treatment of Cultural Landscapes, working closely with other preservation experts, and applying our own considerable historic preservation experience, we can develop restoration, rehabilitation or reconstruction proposals that are respectful of a site’s history and character defining features, while appropriately introducing new elements that compliment rather than replicate a site’s history.
