Sonography Programs Our Bachelor of Science degree programs focus on ultrasound scanning specialty areas. • Diagnostic Medical Sonography – Produces images of various areas of the body • Vascular Sonography & Adult Cardiac Sonography (dual major) – Focuses on images of blood circulation and the heart • Health Professions Bachelor’s Degree Completion Option – Online program for students with an associate’s degree in a health care field

Our strong emphasis on clinical training within a specially designed skills lab and with patients provides the foundation for you to excel • Dedicated skills lab – Developing the expertise to produce high quality images requires practice. With our dedicated skills lab, you’ll be prepared and confident in your abilities before going to the patient care area. • One and only – Program in Nebraska that offers a dual major Bachelor of Science degree in vascular and cardiac sonography. Imagine the variety of interesting procedures you will be trained to perform! • 25 – The number of procedures diagnostic medical sonographers learn in order to scan all areas of the body, from babies to the elderly.
• 12,000 – The number of miles your blood travels in one day. That’s four times the distance across the U.S. from coast to coast! • 60,000 – The length of all the arteries, capillaries and veins in miles if stretched end to end! Vascular sonographers scan much of this to locate abnormalities that help doctors diagnose and care for patients. • 1,305-2,200 – Clinical hours of training, depending on program.

During this weeklong summer camp, you’ll see human body specimens, learn how to start an I.V., provide patient care with our patient simulators, shadow a health professional, learn from a team of health professionals, perform a scientific experiment and more!

This is a great opportunity to tour the College, talk to faculty and students, learn about financial aid and participate in hands-on activities. Events are held in October and March.
