Challenge Companies spend a considerable amount of human and financial capital in the post-production review of their video content, examining it for everything from legal compliance to image quality before deploying it across their distribution channels. Video asset review is a time-consuming endeavor and often involves orchestrating disjointed manual review processes, which are prone to effort duplication and error. Large files are often emailed or hosted on cumbersome FTP file stores, or are physically transferred to disc and shipped back and forth to clients for review. Gathering comments and feedback alone is difficult, since there are no simple methods to directly inject feedback into a video file without affecting the original file’s integrity. While custom postproduction solutions do exist, they are often expensive and time consuming to implement, and often involve a complex interface that requires significant training to use. Lastly, differences in video encoding (which vary by country and device) make it difficult to help ensure that reviewers have the right experience on a particular device.
The solution The Twin Technologies DigiNodes DAR solution provides a simplified path for commenting, review, markup, and approval of digital media assets. It leverages the powerful workflow features of Adobe LiveCycle, to rout digital media assets through streamlined, automated processes for review and approval. Reviewers are able to make comments within video files. On playback, these comments are overlaid right onto the video, keeping the integrity of the original intact. For ease in consolidating feedback, the Twin Technologies DigiNodes DAR solution allows the review manager to create a PDF file of the video, containing a timeline of the comments with the associated screenshots. For added convenience, DigiNodes DAR allows any video asset to be pushed to three screens (TV, browser, and mobile). The integration of Twin Technologies DigiNodes DAR software allows video transcoding on the fly, so that any file format can be served in the appropriate encoding format. In addition, DigiNodes DAR live streaming capability keeps assets more secure and eliminates the need to watermark.
