BSSS End-term Activities Report Global school initiative Our mission: - Education in Egypt has been facing a crisis, as we are steadily noticing a decline in the quality of education throughout the country, mainly within the public/governmental sector where resources are limited. - According to 2012 national census statistics, Egypt suffers from illiteracy in 26.1% of the population, distributed as 33% illiteracy among females compared to 18.8% among males. - So, we are doing our best to achieve the following goals: 1- To incorporate the standards of public and private education to its maximum potential. 2- To form a constant partnership between schools, with multiple public and private educational sectors/centers in a joint effort to remove any and all weaknesses within the quality of education imposed by the defects in the schools’ infrastructures. 3- To highlight and raise the level of awareness towards the general public regarding the past, present, and future steps implemented in the initiative, to involve them directly and/or indirectly, as every community is the key to the preservation and sustainability of the initiative. Target group: - School students. - Teaching staff. Methodology: - Surveying and contacting schools: First we got the permission to visit two schools to distribute surveys on students and teaching staff to detect the definite problems and defects in what is being taught.
