The event’s opening speech on Adana’s technology agenda was given by Adana Chamber of Industry Chairman of the Board Zeki Kıvanç. The event

The opening speech of the meeting was made by Internet Technologies Association President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Akgül and he mentioned about important issues under the title of ‘Internet, Open Source and Turkey’. Akgül defined the internet as an integral part of life, democracy and development and stated that: “The internet
and free software are in a symbiotic relationship. Freedom in free software is the user’s freedom. The products are also considered to be the common property of mankind. The most appropriate way of software development is free software. There are 1.4 million free and available software projects in the world. Turkey can provide several billion savings in this way. The free software also provides a test environment that is very important to train informatics professionals. There are also around 500 distributions in the world; PARDUS is one of them. Meeting with the free software should begin in primary school.” Aksis Sales and Marketing Director Didem Demirkaya noted that Aksis is a company engaged in R&D and creates solutions for the automation of institutions. Providing information on ‘Smart Security Solutions’; Tesan Supply Chain Assistant Director Oğuz Marmara stated that all smart systems are in a position to integrate with the cameras. Dia General Coordinator Süha Onay noting that they offer all the pros of cloud to commercial enterprises and added: “Cloud computing is more secure, less costly and more convenient. Turpçu made a presentation on “Corporate Software Positioning in SMEs and Business Productivity” and stated that “Mikro runs entirely through the channel and sales are carried out through the channel. KEP also can now be taken from Mikro. Mikro is industryindependent software.” Comodo Senior Pre-sales Consultant Ant Karaduman noted that Comodo is an international strength for Turkey and they are an engineering-oriented security firm and stated that: “Only R&D is not enough. We moved R&D to Turkey and we are in cooperation with universities.” ETB Group Sales Manager Sevcan Kaba stated that they are the representative of 6 international companied including Fujitsu. Kaba gave information on their scanning and browser monitoring solutions and ‘Safe Browsing’ to the participants. Talking about ‘the significance of GIS solutions’ and Netcad solutions, Netcad Corporate Representative Dr. Emin Bank stated that: “If we look at GIS as a scale; we can see that it goes from the universe to the citizens’ data. GIS can provide you with thematic information easily. Analysis is the heart of GIS.” And he reminded that all municipalities use Netcad in automation. Vector System Engineer Ahmet Ali Arslan told about the new generation of backup and business continuity and gave detailed information on ‘EMC Data Domain Systems’; data storage systems for archiving and backup.
Call Centers’ market size reached 4.5 billion TL
Logo Software told their growth strategies Organized by Logo Software and becoming a tradition, Logo Software event was held in Istanbul. The opening speech of the event was given by Logo Chief Executive Officer M. Buğra Koyuncu. He stated that Logo has almost a thousand employees, over 800 partners, over 30 product family and about 60 products; creating a large ecosystem. Within the last five years, they grew an average of 43% annually, M. Buğra Koyuncu noted that: “Logo started to invest more to institutionalization as it grows. We are working on to produce more added value in parallel to this growth. In 2011, our investment level on R&D was in 25% and now it increased to 30% compared to sales. Our R&D investment will increase even more with each
passing year. Recently, we integrate the products of the companies we buy to our own products and we offer more value to our users. Finally, as we bought Totalsoft in Romania; we continue our growth in the international arena.” Looking at the messages given in Logosphere, Logo’s investment in cloud platforms will continue to increase. Products for home-office users will be offered to the market, e-Logo’s growth projects will continue and users will be offered new licensing models. In the event, Logo Tiger Wings and Logo Netsis Wings products were introduced. All the features can be accessed from mobile devices and pay as use model for these new products which to be launched in November will be possible for licensing.
Association of Call Centers announced its Call Center Industry 2016 Turkey market data. According to the report, market size reached 4.45 billion TL in 2016. By the Association of Call Centers being the information center and reference point of sector, the 2016 results of the research conducted every year in collaboration with IMI Conferences and Net Research project management was announced. The number of jobs provided by the sector last year, according to the survey, was 83.000; growing 3%, it reached 85.000 people. Association of Call Centers Chairman of the Board
Metin Tarakçı stated that: “The call center market will continue to grow in 2017. We anticipate that next year the total employment figure to reach 92.000. Looking at the sectoral distribution of employment, telecommunication comes first with 23.509 people and financial sector stands second with 16.869 people. 40% of the geographical distribution belongs to Istanbul, 11% to Ankara, 6% to Izmir and 43% in all other cities.” On the other hand, the sector size; after a 30% increase on the minimum wage, grew by 23.5% and reached 4.45 billion TL. The real growth rate was realized as 3-4%.
2 billion incoming and outgoing calls were recorded in call centers last year and this number increased to 2.2 billion in 2016. 48% of incoming calls are related to product and service information, 20% was about transactions and 11% technical support this year. 64% of call center employees are women representatives. The average age of employees is 25 and there is an increase of high school graduates and student call center representatives. 52% of call center employees is two-year-degree college, university and post graduates, 36% is high school graduates and 12% is university students.
