In this regard, the citizens have become very comfortable to handle their work online with the government. After introducing our country to mobile internet, internet is more accessible for every citizen. The state established a base station in place for over 1800 settlements, which operators could not reach. In 2015, we realized the 4.5 G licensing tender. After that, we will complete the preparations for 5 G. On the night of March 31and April 1, 2016; Turkey

reached 4.5 G in 81 cities. The sector, which was 20 billion in 2002, rose to 90 billion and grew over four times. We are enabling all the possibilities to become a country that produces technology. We have over 41 thousand engineers in 64 techno parks. In the last 15 years, the voice monopoly has been removed; arrangements were made in the sectoral taxes; internet access was expanded. Regulations were made in the sector to prevent unregistered trade. We will prevent taxation from becoming a hindrance in front of the information industry. Now, it is not the time of money but the time of information. If you have the knowledge, you are one step ahead. We need to be a country that produces information, not buys it. It is also important that the information remains in our country as much as it is produced. Regulations were also made on the cyber security. In this case, the action plan is actualized. In the upcoming period, we will be active not only in cyber defense, but also in cyber deterrence.” Transportation, Maritime
and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan spoke on the first day of the summit, saying: “Today, 56% of the world’s mobile phones are smartphones. 80% of the phones sold are smart. We increased the fiber infrastructure from 88 thousand to 278 thousand by increasing the mobile data traffic by 50 times. We are here with the conscious of reaching no economic development and no growth without information. This sector is a sector that will change the future of the world and our country. We have a success in this day, but we need to grow by multiplying this success.” Dr. Faruk Özlü, the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, said in the Informatics Summit’16 that: “Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology is making a great effort to realize our dream of making Turkey a Science Center, Technology Base and an Advanced Industry country.” On the first day of the Summit; Information and Communication Technologies Authority President Ömer Fatih Sayan also mentioned the importance of the sector

Integrated control provides essential benefits Union makes strength; second economy gets taken under control
Intel Security presented its new solutions aimed at protecting the digital economy at the 9th FOCUS 16 meeting held in Las Vegas on 1-3 November. The opening speech of the meeting at the Aria Hotel with the ‘Together is power’ motto was made by Chris Young, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intel Security Group and he described the digital world as ‘the second economy’. “When cybercriminals are constantly renewing their tactics, the industry needs to take different security measures instead of methods that are old and well known and be cooperative.” said Chris Young, noting the fact that the private sector and the public sector are striving to ensure trust in this new economy. Defining the basic step as ‘making cyber security a priority’, Chris Young summarized his strategic approaches as stated: “We are integrating protection products against threats for more robust security results, making them automatic
and manageable from a single center. This method helps to reduce risks faster with fewer resources.”
Real-time and learning security The Intel Security unified protection architecture, introduced at FOCUS 16, consists of four integrated protection systems: dynamic endpoint, comprehensive data protection, data center and cloud protection, and finally smart security operations. Behavioral analysis, machine learning and the power of cloud technologies at the dynamic endpoint topic identify the actions that companies need to take in response to threats. The key benefits of this solution, provided by McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 and McAfee Active Response 2.0 software, include threat prevention, machine learning and protection against threats, intensive protection with integrated web and endpoint protection, and real-time, advanced protection.”
