What Sets Us Apart!

We understand kids and we have the facilities and staff to offer your child an experience that’s filled with fun and friends. Our center is a comfortable place to learn and grow.

Some of the features of our programs are: • Full gymnasium • Nature Center - Willowhaven • The Exploration Station...a children’s museum • Low student to teacher ratio • Acres of park land

Extraordinary educational process by which preschool Children become introduced to a world filled with new and exciting discoveries. The preschool staff believes that “Growing through Play” describes our strategy in meeting the needs of young children. Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvment with materials and reinforcement through repetition. Children are challenged with new materials being presented weekly. Classroom schedules are designed to balance structure and free choice as well as active and quiet times. Children explore centers and are encouraged to use skills as they become developmentally ready. Encouraging children to express themselves freely, to communicate with others and to follow their natural instincts of discovery are all goals of the BTPD preschool programs.

About Our Staff ! • Each preschool staff member has been carefully selected based on their: qualifications, experience and personality. • All staff members are CPR and First Aid Certified and have passed a background check.

Signs of a Great Preschool • Children spend time playing and working with other children. • Children have access to various activities through the class. • Teachers work with individuals, small groups and entire class at different times during the session. • School is decorated with children’s original artwork. • Numbers and Alphabet are included in everyday experiences. • There is time for projects, play and time to explore. • Children have a chance to play outside. If you wait until the last minute to register, the program you want may not be there. At some point, we have to determine if enrollment is sufficient to hold the class. Wait too long and the class may have been cancelled due to low enrollment.

NOTE TO PARENTS

To ensure that everyone in our preschool programs find them rewarding and enjoyable; we’ve established a few guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation. Children enrolled in park district programs must be potty independent unless it’s a parent/child class or otherwise stated. Children need to be able to take care of basic needs including potty use, manipulating most clothing and washing hands. Unless a program states it is a Parent-Child program in the description, the program is for children only. Parents may wait in the lobby area but not in the classroom.

EARLY CHILDHOOD GUIDLEINES

The first five years are the most formative and vital to the social, emotional and physical development of your child. Please be sure to participant with child during these sessions. When choosing a program for your child; please note the age requirement for that particular class.
