Early Learning Station Preschool Programs The Early Learning Station program promotes an environment that fosters critical thinking, problem solving skills and social development taught through alphabet and thematic units. The experiences are both educational and recreational, which aid in social, physical, intellectual and emotional growth. Qualified experienced teachers instruct the programs. Illinois Early Learning Standards are applied to curriculum lessons. Sign up early, classes are limited to allow for a low student-teacher ratio. Children must be toilet trained prior to the first day of class. Sessions are divided according to age. Program Options 3-4 YEAR OLD PROGRAM

The 3 year old thematic based program is designed for one of a child’s first experiences in a “school” setting. Our program will stress socialization, cooperative play, fine motor skills, sharing and following directions, and the beginnings of letter and name recognition. Children must be 3 by September 1, 2012.
4-5 YEAR OLD PROGRAM The 4 year old phonics based curriculum will help develop the academic and social skills needed for entering kindergarten in area school districts. Our program will stress the development of independence and academic skills through learning centers, structured activities, socialization, cooperative play and dramatic play and sharing. Children must be 4 by September 1, 2012.

Early Morning Round Up This program involves low key activities like reading stories, playing board games or just relaxing with a favorite toy. Breakfast can be provided or sent from home. Transportation is also available for those heading off to school. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required. Play and Learn
Get ready for all day kindergarten This class if designed for morning or afternoon preschoolers or those who aren’t yet in school and would benefit from additional activities. The class includes many types of recreational activities. Lunch can be purchased for an additional fee. Transportation provided to and from schools. Child must attend a school located within Bourbonnais Township for transportation. Children must be toilet independent prior to the first day of class. Can be combined with Afternoon Adventure. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required. This program is for preschoolers or kindergarteners who would like extra activities and adventure in the afternoon. Themes will include music, art projects, games and much more. Santa & Mrs. Claus Come share an enjoyable afternoon with our special visitors from the North Pole. Gingerbread Workshop Celebrate the holidays by creating a delicious decoration made from sweet treats. Parents and children can customize preassembled gingerbread houses with candy canes, licorice ropes and gum drops and more. Enjoy a treat and make a gingerbread craft. Register now and bring a cardboard box to transport your creation. Registration is per family/one house; an additional child can decorate a house for $18.) Are the kids out of school but you can’t take the time off of work? This will keep your children entertained so you don’t have to take time out of your busy schedule. This program is designed to provide an activity filled day while kids are out of school. Children will enjoy many activities including games, crafts, free play, field trips, and movies in a safe and friendly environment. Children must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. Parents are asked to send a sack lunch with their children or the BTPD will provide the lunch for an additional $3 per child. Teen Snow Tubing Trip
Travel with friends to Villa Olivia Country Club in Bartlett IL, for this wintertime adventure. This Country Club is Chicagoland’s closet ski area and consists of a 180 vertical drop, ¼ long run, and a quad chair lift. If you get cold and look to warm up there is a full cafeteria with snacks and beverages for purchase. There will be Park District staff present during the trip. The price of the trip includes transportation, snow tube rental, and a 2 hour snow tubing session. If under the age of 18, parents must be present at registration and at time of drop off to check in with BTPD Staff. This is a co-op trip with the KVPD. Emphasis in this league is put on introducing and getting players comfortable with the game of basketball. Players will work on developing fundamental skills and playing in their first 5 v 5 basketball games. Basket heights are set at six feet and a youth size ball is used. Teams are formed by a random draw and will have several practices before their first game. Equal playing time is highly stressed in this league.
Youth 3 v 3 Spring Soccer League
3 v 3 soccer uses a smaller field, smaller goals and no goalies. All players receive a greater deal of touches and are constantly involved in the play. This style of soccer will help develop your child’s skills that will translate well to a full soccer game. Teams will practice during the week and play games on Saturday mornings at Perry Farm Park. Wildlife Tree Trimming
Help us trim-a-tree to help feed some wildlife this winter at the Willowhaven Nature Center. Participants will create edible garland and ornaments to decorate outdoor trees at the Whispering Willows Park. As a bonus, participants will also make some nature ornaments to take home and decorate their indoor holiday trees as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants and how to help an adult, child or infant who is choking. This is not a certification course. Cross Country Ski Rentals
Cross Country Skis can be rented at the Perry Farm House this winter when there are 4 or more inches of snow on the ground. Skis can be used at the Perry Farm Park or at other locations. This heart saver class will teach you how to administer adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Intro to Digital Photography

Beer & Wine Tasting plus Silent Auction This Bourbonnais Township Park District event is sure to bring out the wine enthusiast in everyone. Wines from local Illinois wineries will be featured as well as a selection of beers. If you find a beverage that pleases your pallet, we have staff on hand that will be pleased to take your order. Beer and wines will be available for pick-up at a later date. While you are browsing the selection of beverages, don’t forget to check out our silent auction.
