In July of 2011, the BTPD received a grant from the State of Illinois to take Diamond Point Park from a baseball/softball complex to a complete family activity park. Construction started in the fall of 2011 and completion will be late spring of 2012. Amenities at the NEW Diamond Point Park include: • State of the art splash pad • Multi-age playground • Sand volleyball courts • Permanent bean bag boards • Walking path • Picnic shelter

This program involves low key activities like reading stories, working table jobs or just relaxing with a favorite toy. Breakfast can be provided or sent from home. Transportation is also available for those heading off to school. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required. Play and Learn This class if designed for morning or afternoon kindergarteners or preschoolers who would benefit from additional activities. The class includes many types of recreational activities. Children must be toilet trained prior to the first day of class. Can be combined with Afternoon Adventure. Afternoon Adventure This program is for preschoolers or kindergarteners who would like extra activities and adventure in the afternoon. Themes will include music, art projects, games and much more. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required. All By Myself A child’s first experience away from mom and dad should be fun and exciting. Plan Ahead For Summer! Camp and Learn

Just in time for summer fun! Enjoy some time at the Recreation Station, playing games, singing songs and learning about new things. Mini lessons and art projects are done daily. This class can include field trips and many outdoor activities. Lunch can be purchased for an additional fee. Please pick up a parent packet at the time of registration. The Early Learning Station program promotes an environment that fosters critical thinking, problem solving skills and social development taught through alphabet and thematic units. The experiences are both educational and recreational, which aid in social, phsical, intellectual and emotional growth. Qualified experienced teachers instruct the programs. Illinois Early Learning Standards are applied to curriculum lessons. Sign up early, classes are limited to allow for a low student-teacher ratio. Children must be toilet trained prior to the first day of class. Sessions are divided according to age. Program Guidelines, Registration and Location • A BTPD registration form must be submitted along with a copy of a birth certificate and a reduced nonrefundable administration fee of $35 for the 2012 year. • Children must be of the apropriate age required for each program. • A current immunization form will be required for students before the first day of attendance. • All children must be able to take care of their own bathroom needs. READING with the

DOGS!!

Does your child struggle with reading, not really care for it, or maybe your child loves to read… whatever the case this program will be great for your child. Along with the Bradley Public Library and the Schatzi Foundation, we are offering this unique opportunity for your children. Children will have to opportunity to read to a trained, certified, and insured therapy dog and handler. Pre-registration is required and parents need to be present during the program, but will be in a seating area while the children are reading. More specific details will be provided at the time of registration. Tech It Apart Children can learn what is really inside various electronics. How? By actually taking it apart! Flip Kits Come check out our new Flip Kits! Exploration Station… a children’s museum has partnered with the Bradley Library to bring literacy to your home. Nano Days is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering and its potential impact on the future. Participants will explore size, tools, materials, products and forces using Nano sand, Nano fabric, rulers, games, thin films and much more. BTPD Garage Sale Donation Days

Clearing out all your old stuff, but don’t feel like going through the work to have your own garage sale? That’s ok, we will take it. Donation items can be dropped off at the Exploration Station Sunday, May 6 - Friday, May 11 during regular hours. The Exploration Station does have the right to refuse certain items, such as overused, unsafe, unclean, or inappropriate items. Tax write off slips will be available upon request. Earth Day Awareness Fair

Exploration Station… a children’s museum will be hosting it’s annual Earth Day Awareness Fair on Saturday, April 21st. The fair will include a variety of environmentally friendly activities to help preserve and improve the quality of life for future generations. Throughout the day the fair will include recycling activities, games, face painting, hay rides, crafts, poster making and more. Meet-A-Tree

Great for Scouts!
This exercise is a traditional preparation for coming-of-age rites of passage among native cultures. Children will be blindfolded and gently guided out to a tree in the natural area surrounding Willowhaven Interpretive Center. Each participant will then get to know their tree by sensing things such as textures, smells, and sounds. They will be lead back to the starting place, un-blindfolded, and then instructed to find their tree. Program also includes a leaf rubbing activity and a tree identification sheet to take home. Intro To Digital Photography

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

This is a vigorous multi-level yoga class which builds heat and stamina through sun salutations and standing poses. Creative and stimulating, these classes include the vinyasa form and more challenging postures such as inversions and lotus poses. Options are offered that can make the poses more or less challenging, but students need some experience with yoga to be able to understand the options offered and decide which is appropriate for them. This class is for those with some yoga experience in asana (poses) or for those who are physically fit.
