Minutes for February 22nd
Call to Order: 8:00pm Introduction: ● What we do ○ Weekly meetings on Monday’s over Zoom from 8pm to 9pm to participate in service and fellowship activities ○ Collaborate with volunteer organizations on and off campus by providing volunteers Past Events: ● DLSSP: Members attended a virtual volunteering event with fellowship and service activities with members from other college Circle K clubs. ● A representative from the Fleishman Center came to visit on October 5th to give resume and professional development advice based on volunteer experience ● Chow Walk : October 1st-9th members walked a ¼ a mile to recognize hunger in Broome ● Thirst Project: On October 12th we heard a presentation by a thirst project warrior, an organization that brings safe drinking water to communities where it is not available. ● Zoo at Ross Park Giveaway: Andreea won the zoo raffle and received a free pass to the park ● Roberson Museum - Home for the Holidays: November 3rd & 4th Circle K helped set up holiday decorations for the community at the Roberson Museum ● APO Collaboration: Members received supplies to create a face mask with their own designs Upcoming Events: Want to participate in any of the upcoming events? Talk to an e-board member or email circlek@binghamtonsa.edu ● Day of Caring - VINES ○ We volunteer at VINES in downtown Binghamton to assist with cooking and food distribution. This will continue in the future when the weather gets warmer. ● Fundraisers ○ Posters for future fundraisers will be sent in the Groupme and in an upcoming email. Please share the event on your social media and with all of your friends! ● Tech Works ○ Members volunteer by working online or in person finding activities for teenagers and creating zoom virtual backgrounds 2/27-2/28 ● APO Collaboration: Look forward to more information on this event which will occur in mid-March ● DCON ○ Join this free virtual event filled with fun leadership, service and fellowship events ○ Registration will be sent in the Circle K Groupme - March 26-28 ● Other events: ○ Outdoor park cleanups ○ Roberson Museum volunteering Fellowship and Service: ● Circle K members completed service & fellowship activities for the first meeting of the spring semester Closing Business: ● Looking forward to new Covid-friendly events: ○ Dues are $12 and guarantee you a t-shirt, insurance at Circle K events and official membership status of Circle K ○ Virtual tutoring - sign up in the email ○ District Project: Combatting Covid ○ Governor's Project: Life Necessities ○ International Project: WASH partnered with UNICEF Meeting Adjourned: 9:00pm
