Minutes for March 1, 2021
Call to Order: 8:00pm Introduction: ● What we do ○ Meetings: Monday’s over Zoom from 8-9pm to participate in service or fellowship ○ Collaborate with volunteer organizations on and off campus by providing volunteers Past Events: ● DLSSP: Virtual event of fellowship and service activities with other Circle K clubs. ● The Fleishman Center visited October 5th to give resume and professional advice ● Chow Walk : October 1st-9th members walked a ¼ a mile to recognize hunger in Broome ● Thirst Project: On October 12th we heard a presentation by a thirst project warrior ● Zoo at Ross Park Giveaway: Andreea won the zoo raffle and received a free pass to the park ● Roberson Museum - Home for the Holidays: Circle K helped set up holiday decorations ● APO Collaboration: Members received supplies to create a face mask with their own designs Upcoming Events: Want to participate in any of the upcoming events? Email circlek@binghamtonsa.edu ● Day of Caring - VINES: ○ We volunteer at VINES in downtown Binghamton to assist with cooking and food distribution. This will continue in the future when the weather gets warmer. ● Fundraisers: ○ Posters for future fundraisers will be sent in the Groupme and in an upcoming email. Please share the event on your social media and with all of your friends! ● Tech Works: ○ Member will volunteer by working online finding activities for teenagers and creating zoom virtual backgrounds or in person - March 6-7th ● Team Sunrise: ○ Circle K members will have the opportunity to help with the delivery of luck bags for St. Patrick's Day ○ Proceeds of buying these bags will be donated to create camps and programs for children with cancer ● APO Collaboration: ○ Look forward to more information on this event occuring in mid-March ● DCON: ○ Join this free virtual event filled with fun leadership, service and fellowship events ○ Registration will be sent in the Circle K Groupme - March 26-28th ● K-Family Collaboration: ○ Members will have the opportunity to volunteer outside at a spring cleanup with the Owego Kiwanis club and senior citizens - April 17th ● Food Bank for the Southern Tier: ○ Join Circle K by participating in a volunteering event with the food bank of the southern tier - March 23rd (9am-12pm) and April 1st Fellowship and Service: ● Service Activity: Members used freerice.com to donate rice to families in need Closing Business: ● Looking forward to new Covid-friendly events: ○ Dues are $12 and guarantee you a t-shirt, insurance at Circle K events and official membership status of Circle K ○ District Project: Combatting Covid ○ Governor's Project: Life Necessities ○ International Project: WASH partnered with UNICEF Meeting Adjourned: 9:00pm
