Minutes for October 12th
Call to Order: 8:00pm Introduction: ● What we do ○ Weekly meetings on Monday’s over Zoom from 8pm to 9pm to participate in service and fellowship activities ○ Collaborate with volunteer organizations on and off campus by providing volunteers Past Events: ● Virtual Ufest: E-board met and answered questions for prospective members ● Circle-K Raffle: Members entered the raffle at our first meeting to win a free Circle-K t-shirt ● VINES: Members spread wood chips at the Liberty Street Community Garden ● Tech Works: Members volunteered by working online finding activities for teenagers and creating zoom virtual backgrounds ● Two fundraiser at Blaze and Tulleys raised over 80 dollars for the club ● DLSSP: Members attended a virtual volunteering event with fellowship and service activities with members from other college Circle K clubs. ● A representative from the Fleishman Center came to visit on October 5th to give resume and professional development advice based on volunteer experience ● Chow Walk : October 1st-9th members walked a ¼ a mile to recognize hunger in Broome Upcoming Events: Want to participate in any of the upcoming events? Talk to an e-board member or email circlek@binghamtonsa.edu ● Day of Caring - VINES ○ We volunteer at VINES in downtown Binghamton throughout the semester to assist with cooking and food distribution 10/24/2020 ● Fundraiser ○ The past Chipotle fundraiser was cancelled due to Covid-19 but will be rescheduled ○ Poster will be sent in the Groupme and in an upcoming email. Please share the event on your social media and with all of your friends! ● Thirst Project Visit ○ Thirst Project is an organization whose mission to bring safe drinking water to communities where it is not readily available ○ Join us on October 12th to hear a presentation by a thirst project warrior ● Animal Adventure Park ○ October 23 to 25th volunteer at the animal adventure park ● In the works ○ Tech Work - virtual, Servathon - 10/24/2020, APO collaboration - 11/9/2020, Wishmakers Collaboration, Clothing Closet Volunteering, Make a mask event Fellowship: ● Fellowship with Calvin: Instead of fellowship Thirst Project gave a presentation Closing Business: ● Dues are $12 and will start to be collected by Mary or Prachi ○ Due by November 15th - Venmo is acceptable ○ Guarantees a t-shirt, insurance at club events, and official membership status of CKI ● Looking forward to new Covid-friendly events: ○ Virtual tutoring - sign up in the email ○ District Project: Combatting Covid ○ Governor's Project: Life Necessities ○ International Project: WASH partnered with UNICEF Meeting Adjourned: 9:00pm
