Minutes for October 26th

Call to Order​: 8:00pm Introduction: ● What we do ○ Weekly meetings on Monday’s over Zoom from 8pm to 9pm to participate in service and fellowship activities ○ Collaborate with volunteer organizations on and off campus by providing volunteers Past Events: ● Circle-K Raffle: Members entered the raffle at our first meeting to win a free Circle-K t-shirt ● Two fundraisers at Blaze and Tulleys raised over 80 dollars for the club ● DLSSP: Members attended a virtual volunteering event with fellowship and service activities with members from other college Circle K clubs. ● A representative from the Fleishman Center came to visit on October 5th to give resume and professional development advice based on volunteer experience ● Chow Walk : October 1st-9th members walked a ¼ a mile to recognize hunger in Broome ● Thirst Project: On October 12th we heard a presentation by a thirst project warrior, an organization that brings safe drinking water to communities where it is not available. ● Servathon: Members completed a 30 hour famine to raise awareness for global food security while participating in fun fellowship activities ● Animal Adventure Park: Members volunteered in person at the animal adventure park Upcoming Events: Want to participate in any of the upcoming events? Talk to an e-board member or email circlek@binghamtonsa.edu ● Day of Caring - VINES ○ We volunteer at VINES in downtown Binghamton to assist with cooking and food distribution. The event was cancelled this weekend, but will continue in the future. ● Fundraiser ○ Posters for future fundraisers will be sent in the Groupme and in an upcoming email. Please share the event on your social media and with all of your friends! ● Roberson Museum Spooktacular ○ October 31st join Circle K at the Roberson Museum by handing out candy to children, and helping out with crafts and science experiments ● Zoo at Ross Park Giveaway ○ Enter the raffle giveaway to raise money for the Zoo until October 31st ○ $1 for one entry and $3 for five entries - Venmo is acceptable to Mary ● Tech Works ○ Members volunteer by working online finding activities for teenagers and creating zoom virtual backgrounds - virtual 11/31/2020 - 11/1/2020 ● In the works ○ APO collaboration - 11/9/2020, Wishmakers Collaboration, Make a mask event Fellowship: ● Fellowship with Calvin: Circle K club played Among Us Closing Business: ● Dues of $12 are due by November 15th - Venmo is acceptable ○ Guarantees a t-shirt, insurance at club events, and official membership status of CKI ● Looking forward to new Covid-friendly events: ○ Virtual tutoring - sign up in the email ○ District Project: Combatting Covid ○ Governor's Project: Life Necessities ○ International Project: WASH partnered with UNICEF Meeting Adjourned​: 9:00pm
