Binghamton Circle K Meeting Minutes 4_9_18 Called to order: 8:05 Public Relations: o New E-Board introductions o Subscribe to us on social media, search @BingCircle K! o Enhance your involvement transcript by adding Circle K on B-Engaged! • This is great way to for us to track how many members we currently have in club and gauge the number of retuning members for next semester. Member involvement: o Calling all members, new or old! Are you willing to help shoot a Circle K video? o We feel that this would be a great marketing tactic to attract incoming freshmen and transfer students to become new members in the fall. o Majority ruled. Many of you voted to create a Circle K promotional short. Past Events: o Thank you to all who attended the service auction with UNICEF, it was a major success. o In addition, at the meeting before break, two speakers from the Thirst Project informed us about their mission to provide clean drinking water in Swaziland. Upcoming Events: o Thirst Project Speaker • The Water Gala will be held on April 30th at 6-9PM in the Mandela room. • This will most likely be a free event and food will be provided, so you and your friends should come by. o Bake Sale • Stop by the Tillman Lobby this Wednesday, April 11th between 124PM for a bake sale! • Sign up through the email or come up after the meeting to get involved! • We are in need of volunteers to either bake or help table.

o Bridging the Digital Divide Program • Would you like to teach your fellow community members basic computer skills? o Our chapter of Circle K will be aiding in the instruction of digital literacy classes to individuals in the greater Binghamton area. o This is a phenomenal opportunity to teach people perceived basic skills such as logging onto a computer or sending an email; things that we all usually take for granted. o The program will run on April 12th, 17th 26th and May 3rd from 45:30PM. o This event is accessible via bus or personal forms of transportation. o Out of the Darkness Walk • Help support suicide prevention by walking with Circle K on April 21st from 10am-12pm. • This event has been on campus for the past four years. • Help us reach the goal to raise $9,000! If you have the ability, you can ask your family and friends for donations. • Hundreds of people came around the spine. o Autism Carnival • Volunteer on April 21st in the Mandela room for fun and games while helping the special needs community. • The special needs community is one that many members have showed interested in helping and partnering with Special Olympics. • Even If you have a physical disability you can still, be able to play water pong. • If you have ideas for inclusive community builders; please suggest them to the e-board members. o Relay for Life • Join the fight against cancer on April 27th-28th from 4pm-4am • Cancer doesn’t sleep so neither should you for this one inspiring night! • Colleges across the country raise funds and the proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society. • The goal is $60,000 and as a school we have currently raised 30,000 dollars • You can come for an hour or even walk through the night! You don’t want to miss the luminaria ceremony which honors individuals who have lost their fight to cancer and those are still fighting.
