Circle K Meeting Minutes 9_12_18 Called to Order: 7:01 Opening Remarks: The Essence of Circle K o We hope that Circle K is a fun place to catch up with old friends and meet some new friendly faces! o It is our goal, that for one hour a week, you have a place to destress and make a difference through our service/fellowship opportunities. o Life is hectic, so just try to come to as many meetings and events as possible! o Like our Facebook page and join the Circle K group for more reminders! Past Events: o UFest! o Thank you to all off you that stopped by our table! o We are glad that so many of you are interested in being a part of the largest community service org on campus! o Monday Service- Positive Graffiti o Thank you for everyone to everyone who gets involved o We are on a roll! Keep logging those service hours! The More You Know… o This year our District Project is Mind your Mind & the Governor’s Project is Bear Necessities. Dues: • Dues are $12, are not mandatory, but highly recommended! This is a requirement to become an official international member and to be able to run for eboard in the future! o A FREE t-shirt, insurance at events, and official certificate as well as a membership ID card from Kiwanis are ALL INCLUDED Events to Look Forward to: • September 15th o Day of Caring- Vines- This opportunity is FULL o 8:30-1pm o We will help beatify the local community garden •

September 15th o Apple Fest between 1-2pm sign up in the link o Tabling with the local Kiwanis chapter


September 16th o CHOW Hunger Walk o 11:30-3:00pm o Volunteering or Walk o We encourage everyone to get involved with this event as it is held on campus o Binghamton as many of you know is a food desert→ this event helps buy food for the local area o $25 to walk and there is an unlimited amount of volunteers o You can still sign up ☺

September 17th o GB (General Body) Meeting

September 23rd o Southern Tier Divisional o September 23rd o 12pm-2pm in UU 215 o Focus will be on the Mind your Mind (our district project) o Mental health awareness and identifying resources available on campus will the main topic of discussion. o This is a great way to meet people from other schools! o Many of the people at this event will also be DLSSP!

September 24th o GB (General Body) Meeting

October 1st o GB (General Body) Meeting

October 4th (TENTATIVE) o Community Opportunities Fair o Learn more and network with those who are involved with the CCE or the Center of Civic Engagement.

October 13th (TENTATIVE) o Out of the Darkness Walk

October 13th (TENTATIVE) o River Bank Cleanup

November 8th (TENTATIVE) o Thirst Project Speaker- will speak on November 9th o There is a very good chance that there will be pizza at this event!

DLSSP o September 28th-30th o Taberg, NY-- Kamp Kiwanis (An hour and forty-five minutes away) o Only $30, including a super cool t-shirt! o Fellowship across the district! Meeting with members from other schools around the Southern Tier! o SIGN UPS FOR THIS EVENT ARE TONIGHT! o Registration is DUE on Friday! o Transportation included! What causes are you passionate about? o The eboard has reached out to Active Minds and the Food Co-op! o Are the any particular organizations that you would participate with/donate to?
